I hope you won't shut this thread down, because I am genuinely in need of some guidance. If it does get closed, please feel free to reach out to me via DM... πŸ™‚
What would you recommend as the ideal way to stay activeβ€”perhaps something you personally participate in? I'm seventeen, so I find myself wondering if it's even worth trying to pick up a serious sport at this stage. I've never been the type who can force herself to go for a daily jog or anything similar, so I think enrolling in a structured program would be my best bet. I'm looking for something that yields visible results regarding weight loss and toning, but I also want to ensure it isn't prohibitively expensive, nor do I want to feel like a complete outsider among people who take the activity very seriously. That's the general idea... anyone have any thoughts? πŸ™‚

What would you recommend for a good workout or activity? Something you guys actually do yourselves? I'm 17, so I'm not sure if it's too late to start training for a specific sport. I'm a bit on the heavier side, so forcing myself to go for daily runs or something like that isn't going to workβ€”I think joining a class or a club is my best bet. I want something that actually gets results for weight loss and toning, ideally without being crazy expensive or making me feel like a complete outsider among the pros. That's the gist of it... any ideas? πŸ™‚

Depends. Have you ever trained before, and what kind of stuff actually interests you? What types of sports do you like? πŸ˜‰

I played some volleyball back in elementary schoolβ€”not that anyone really did😁 nothing major, though I did do aerobics for a while. So, I'm not entirely sure... what are your thoughts on something like Pilates? 😁 Please, just throw out any suggestions for what might be a good fit... πŸ™‚

Because honestly, if you didn't, I feel like you missed out on a core part of the childhood experience. Just me? Or am I just an outlier here? 😁 Nothing major really, I used to hit up some aerobics classes back in the day for a bit. But honestly, I'm kind of drawing a blank hereβ€”what’s the consensus on Pilates? Is it actually worth the hype? 😁 Alright, look, I’m just gonna open the floor here. Don't be shyβ€”just throw out whatever ideas you think might actually be cool or useful. I'm looking for suggestions on what we could do to make this better, so give me your best shots! πŸ™‚

Look, I’m not exactly going to write something just because it’s what you want to hear, right? That’s not how this works. You should probably be the one deciding what actually makes sense here. It shouldn't be my job to sit here and try to play mind reader for you. 😁

Not sure. We can suggest anything, but you're the one who has to pick. I'm 17 too 😍 and I played handball for about six years before high school hit, then I just stopped. I didn't have to, and honestly, I regret it to this day...πŸ‘Ž

My suggestion: handball πŸ‘

Personally, I’ve always been pretty obsessed with rock climbing and the whole idea of ninjutsu 😎

Of course I intend to choose whatever seems most appropriate, but nothing particular has occurred to me yet. I thought perhaps if you all suggested something related to your own professional fields, I might get a better sense of the various options available... πŸ˜‰

Does anyone have a decent gym recommendation, preferably somewhere in downtown Chicago? Or maybe just shoot me a private message...πŸ˜‰

Man, honestly? Best if everyone just sticks to their own little threadsβ€”we might as well just rename this whole forum Coachella 😁
