Why was my thread deleted?

I started a thread titled "Would America have won the Civil War if..." and I'm just wondering why it was pulled. I didn't get any notification or heads-up about it.

Why haven't I heard back from anyone yet? I was under the impression this was a serious forum for discussion, not a place where threads just vanish whenever someone feels like it. Could someone please explain why my post was removed?
