I find myself wondering how many of you here actually engage in regular physical activity while remaining genuinely attentive to your overall health

...or perhaps, rather than committing to fitness, a balanced diet, or even a bit of meditation, you find yourselves leaning more toward pharmacological solutions instead

I was wondering, what sort of sports do you all typically get involved in?

I train MMA and hit my home gym whenever I can—got some basic equipment, benches, weights, that kind of thing... what about you?

Hardly!

I'm big into running right now—trying to get my miles in before the weather turns cold and the days start getting shorter—but I also hit the gym, do some high-energy aerobics, roll in on my skates occasionally, play some badminton, and man, I absolutely LOVE bouldering.

And no, I don't touch any gear or supplements.

Fitness, cycling, the whole nerve-wracking ordeal...
You really should have put together a poll; I think people would have found that quite interesting to weigh in on...

At this moment, I am pursuing absolutely nothing😢 I have become entirely slothful, quite frankly😳 😢

Last year, I maintained a routine of exercising in my bedroom roughly every other day, dedicating about an hour to two hours per session😁

My intention is to resume once the semester begins at university
Back at my parents' house, there is an elliptical trainer available, which I utilize whenever I am staying there👍

However, I must admit that I am rather "picky" when it comes to athletics—the only activities that truly appeal to me are rollerblading (though my skates are completely trashed), cycling (which I don't own a bike for here in Chicago), and swimming—and I find I can only enjoy swimming in the ocean😢 It is certainly not easy to stay active under these constraints😬

I’ve been a total couch potato lately, but that ends now. Squash, running, and swimming are officially back on the schedule.

Got about twenty pounds to drop first. 😉(Not a huge deal at 6'3", but still... it wouldn't hurt to lean out a bit)🙂.

It strikes me that everyone seems to be going through the motions of being active, yet there is a distinct lack of genuine stewardship over one's own physical well-being... to clarify, if one maintains a consistent routine, it shouldn't really be possible to simply fluctuate ten pounds up and down in a constant cycle of losing weight and then immediately gaining it back again.

To put it more succinctly, there appears to be a general absence of true health consciousness among us—which, naturally, encompasses regular exercise.

I mean this without any intention to offend or
draw harsh conclusions, though it does seem as if Justin Ramos2 is perhaps the most proactive among us when it comes to fitness...

Patrick Fowler83 said:It feels like everyone here acts like they’re staying fit, but nobody actually takes care of their body. To be clear, if you're constantly active, you shouldn't just randomly gain 20 pounds, go on a diet, lose it, and then immediately pack it all back on again.

Basically, nobody has any real health consciousness (which obviously includes working out)

No offense intended and
without making assumptions (though it seems like Justin Ramos2 is the most active one among us when it comes to fitness)

Sorry, but what exactly is she doing?!
All I see from her is a bunch of "NO" posts; I don't recall seeing a single thing where she actually mentions hitting the gym.
😕

To be more specific, if you’re consistently active, you shouldn't just find yourself gaining ten pounds only to go on a crash diet and then gain it all back again.

To put it bluntly, people lack any real sense of health consciousness, which naturally includes regular exercise.

Hmm... that's quite an interesting journey you took to reach that conclusion. You started with absolutely zero information...

From having no data points at all, you jumped straight to a sweeping generalization about everyone...
I see you weren't exactly winning any awards for logic back in high school...🙄

Have you ever heard of the massive gap between saying "nobody" and saying "everyone"?

To put it bluntly, nobody seems to have an actual sense of wellness—and yeah, that includes staying fit.

No offense intended, and
without making any sweeping generalizations (though it does seem like Justin Ramos2 is probably the most dedicated one among us when it comes to hitting the gym),

😕

but honestly, the specific sport you're into might actually be doing you more harm than good.🙄

Doing Muay Thai three times a week and hitting the pool once... that’s about it. I don't really run because I can never find the time. Plus, I'm out there training my Dobermans, so I guess that counts as a workout too😁
Maybe I'll squeeze in another session soon since I'm kind of obsessed with training.
I'm watching what I eat, taking some vitamins and magnesium supplements. And, of course, plenty of blackberry wine.

Honestly, we need to ban Patrick Fowler83 and Justin Ramos2 because they’re just straight-up shilling and acting like they know everything about this place.

In my opinion, they aren't even following the basic rules of how anyone else on this forum acts.

Regular gym sessions, pickup soccer games, running, and hitting the stair climber every now and then.
As for my diet, I try to stay away from greasy junk. I might indulge in some chocolate or pastries occasionally, but that’s about it. I take flaxseed oil, a multivitamin, and glutamine, plus the occasional omega-3 supplement.
Overall, I'm happy with where I am physically. As for my mental state—that's a conversation for another time. 🙂

Jesse Ortiz4 said:Both Systema and Justin Ramos2 really ought to be banned from this community; they spend all their time pushing agendas and acting as if they possess some sort of absolute authority over everyone else.

I find that their conduct fails to align with the basic standards of decorum we expect on a forum like this...

I find myself in complete agreement with that sentiment, though I suppose I should include you in that critique as well, given how insufferably condescending you can be at times... 👋

Whatever.

I guess I'm totally oblivious to my own health, even when I think I'm doing something about it.

Tennis maybe 2 or 3 times a week. I hit the pavement running when I'm not on the court. Also cycling about 5 times a week for half an hour.

Enough? 🙂

Volleyball!! I have four practices a week, usually lasting about an hour or so. Occasionally, I might go for a run, or maybe borrow my brother's weights to do some lifting. I suppose I just love sports. 🙏
