Mod, please don't move this thread into some massive mega-thread or a poll. This is its own thing—a standalone movie—and it belongs right here.

You can catch the film over at www.zeitgeistmovie.com

Once you've finished watching, feel free to join the movement at thezeitgeistmovement.com

Seriously—this is a documentary film you just have to see.

The only part worth its salt is the section on Christianity—everything else is just soft, shallow nonsense designed to appeal to some edgy, alternative kids.

And this is what happens when a parent comments on something. Let me clear this up for you, kiddo. This film doesn't actually focus on Christianity at all. That's just a reflection of your own perception and how you choose to see things.

The first part features a chapter on Christianity, whereas the second half shifts its focus toward money, major institutions, banking systems, and things of that nature.
An incredibly solid documentary film...

honestly, that whole section on Christianity is total nonsense... just complete fiction at this point...

A fabrication? Judging by that comment, it’s pretty clear you haven't actually done any heavy lifting when it comes to understanding the complexities of the situation if you're going to dismiss it all as some hollow myth. You might want to look into the work of Gerald Massey or Acharye sa, along with countless other authors who dive deep into this subject and back their claims up with actual substance, unlike certain people...

So I just picked up this Zeitgeist addendum, but now I’m tripping—is this actually a sequel or what?
Do I really need to sit through Zeitgeist The movie first to get it?

It’s driving me nuts because when I check IMDB, I can't even find the addendum listed, just the original film.
Someone please help me solve this mystery 🙂.

Jose Wells7 said:A fabrication? Honestly, looking at your comment, it seems like you're a bit out of the loop if you're calling this whole thing just some made-up story... You really ought to dive into the work of Gerald Massey or Acharye sa—not to mention countless other authors who actually back their claims with hard facts, unlike certain people...

I mean, I could sit down right now and write a whole book about aliens living on Mars, but just because it's printed on paper doesn't make it true...

The problem is they lack actual evidence... those books mostly just lean on what other books say, rather than looking at primary sources or raw data—and half those other books are just spinning lies or inventing "proof" out of thin air...

For instance—that depiction of the crucified Dionysus you see all over where Zeitgeist The movie is being promoted is pretty striking, isn't it? It's used to argue that Christians basically stole the cross and slapped Christ on it... but once you realize that specific imagery actually comes from the 2nd or 3rd century AD, rather than the pre-Christian era, the whole narrative shifts—Dionysus was actually just jumping on the cross instead of Jesus, right? 😉

Or take another example: they claim Krishna was a virgin birth just like Jesus, but according to the records, he was actually either the seventh or eighth child of his mother... 🤣

Good grief, 🤣 why don't you just go hide under a rock?

Is having access to a computer and the internet really the ultimate proof of American economic prosperity? Anyone can afford those these days.

It's tripping me up that I can't find the Addendum on IMDB, only the original movie.

Think of it as a sequel or a second installment, whatever you want to call it, but you don't strictly need to see the first one first. The original film is actually split into three distinct segments: Christianity, 9/11, and the banking system.

This second part focuses most heavily on the banking system.

It's a phenomenal documentary.

Seriously, such an amazing documentary.

Thanks.
Still can't wrap my head around why only the first one shows up on IMDB, though.

They lack actual evidence. These books just lean on other books rather than primary documents or hard facts, and those other books are often lying or fabricating data in the first place...

For example: that depiction of the crucified Dionysus seen in various Zeitgeist The movie advertisements is certainly impressive, isn't it? It supposedly proves that Christians stole the cross and placed Christ upon it. However, once you realize that specific portrayal of Dionysus originates from the 2nd or 3rd century AD—rather than the pre-Christian era—the whole narrative shifts. Suddenly, Dionysus just jumped on the cross instead of Jesus, right? 😉

Or consider another case: they claim Krishna was born a virgin like Jesus, when in reality, he was either the seventh or eighth child of his mother... 🤣

I agree. The first part has a few interesting points, but the creators rely heavily on inaccurate data. Along with those two examples, you have that ridiculous comparison between the word "Sun" and "Son" based purely on English phonetic similarities. It is easily one of the more idiotic arguments in the film. It’s a shame it's handled so sloppily; Christianity could be discredited much more effectively using methods similar to those used by Richard Dawkins or Harris, for instance.

Because of this, I really don't feel like sitting through the rest of it.🤷

I scrolled back through the comments on this thread... honestly, I'm wondering if anyone here has actually visited the zeitgeistmovement website to see a more thorough explanation of the whole story and its purpose. I respect everyone's opinion, and it's obvious that living in a conservative, right-leaning, hardcore Catholic country means these kinds of ideas will face condemnation rather than actual understanding or acceptance. I don't view this as a cinematic work at all, but rather as an excellent opportunity for fresh, healthy ideas. The facts are well-founded and argued; sometimes you have to distinguish between healthy skepticism and pathological denial. I want to know if there are any enthusiasts out there who actually intend to take action or get involved. As an individual, you can't do much, but as part of a group, you can definitely start working toward changing these stagnant, outdated beliefs and human behavioral patterns. So, kudos to the authors of both films—bravo to the Venus project for their courage, knowledge, and enthusiasm. It's easiest to hide behind stale, empty, and unfounded beliefs—the ways our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents lived and thought. It doesn't matter if you profit or gain anything personally, because changes this massive take decades, but I would consider it an honor to contribute to such noble goals... By our system's definition, I'm a total anarchist, and to some, a "naive idealist." Whatever, there are plenty of opinions. I'm just curious about the current state of things in these forums... are there still people interested in real action? If so, speak up... the core is formed, so let's see... Aloha

Sure, there might be a few questionable details if you look closely at the movie... probably. But when you step back and look at both films as a whole, they paint this specific picture. They offer a perspective on the world we live in that’s actually worth considering. Most of what the film presents is spot on, which is honestly pretty devastating for all of us. So, it's worth a watch regardless. As for the technical stuff like camera movement and all that? I guess that's up to you.
👍

Oh, and hey everyone... first post, so... yeah.

I’ve been looking into this lately, and I have to say—I’m actually pretty impressed. There’s something about it that people really ought to consider from a much broader perspective, rather than just clinging to their narrow, outdated viewpoints...

As a left-leaning, hardcore atheist, I view this movie—and other "Zeitgeist"-style films—as nothing more than fabrications. Nowadays, it is incredibly easy to lure people in with various conspiracy theories, especially when they lean on things like 9/11 or religious themes and similar nonsense. The ideas might sound intriguing at first glance, but they read like heavy science fiction. It always comes down to evidence, evidence, evidence... Since there isn't any, I find it difficult to take the authors of these films or the writers of these "conspiracy" books seriously.
