Of course there's a problem 😁

The file is about 7 GB. How on earth am I supposed to fit that onto a DVD? 😁
I don't have a USB drive or anything else handy, so I'm stuck trying to figure out how to squeeze this onto a disc. Maybe split it across two DVDs? I've never done that before, so I wouldn't even know where to start. -.-'

Does anyone actually have a solution for this?

I was wondering if there’s actually a way to put a password on a specific folder within Windows 7... say I create a folder right on my desktop and toss a few files in there, and then when I go to click it to open everything up, it would prompt me to enter a password first before letting me see what's inside.

The Mac file is like 7 GB... how am I even supposed to burn that onto a DVD? 😁
I don't have a USB drive or anything else lying around, so I'm stuck wondering how to make it fit on a disc. Maybe two DVDs? But I've never messed with that before, so I wouldn't even know where to start. -.-'

Anyone got a fix for this?

Just grab an 8.5GB DVD+R DL

Look, maybe try actually learning how to install Windows first, then come back and try installing macOS in like 2 or 3 years. 😬

Look, when it comes to Windows, I’ve pretty much mastered the whole thing. But I’ve never actually touched macOS, so there's a lot I still need to figure out 🙂

Douglas Garcia52 is giving you good advice. You’re going to need an 8.5 GB DVD-R (any idea where I can grab one?)
Once you actually get macOS installed, you'll find there's a forum thread for pretty much everything else you want to know.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend the absolute best registry cleaner for Windows 7? 🍿

I've been using Windows 7 Ultimate for a few months now, and I have to say, it really surprised me in a good way. It seems like there are quite a few new features that you just don't see in Windows Vista or XP. It also feels pretty solid for gaming, so I guess I’d definitely recommend it to any gamers out there 👍

I've been running CCleaner for quite a while now, but I recently "stumbled upon" Advanced SystemCare. Honestly, it’s been a pleasant surprise 🙂
.
@ Dana Murphy4
"Stumbled upon," you say? And now you're actually using it...? 🤔

Could someone please help me out? I'm running Windows 7... and my folders are grouping together in the Start menu. How can I change the settings so they show up individually instead?
Thanks!

Thanks!

Just right-click Taskbar - Properties and look under "Taskbar Buttons." You can pick "never Combine," or just set it like I did in my screenshot here 🙂

..I was scrolling through the New York Times this morning and came across this piece arguing that Microsoft basically pulled off a massive media stunt with Windows 7—it’s really just Windows Vista SP2 in a fancy mask. The article claims the actual revolution was the jump from Windows XP SP1 to SP2, which makes way more sense than this whole Windows 7 mess. Honestly, you have to hand it to them for tricking people into buying it; instead of actually building a new kernel, they just tweaked Vista to be slightly less of a resource hog. Back then, hardware prices were a nightmare, so that was a huge deal, but nowadays? Everything is dirt cheap... hahahah..

Look, some of us actually find this perfectly fine. If you’re so incredibly dissatisfied, why don't you just go ahead and build your own operating system from scratch? Then maybe we'll have something worth criticizing, alright?

An American lecturing me about an OS? Please. They can barely find Europe on a map—they probably think it’s somewhere in Texas.😛

haha, man... the Chinese aren't the ones doing that... hahaha... it's not about spitting on anyone; I'm not saying anything—just admit that what's written above is spot on... which it is, because Windows Vista SP2 is actually a solid system

Are these Americans really going to lecture me about operating systems? They clearly have no idea where Europe even is—they probably think it’s somewhere in Texas. 😛

Look, if you’re so miserable with your current OS, why don't you just build one from scratch? Or better yet, go find something else that actually works for you and call it a day. It’s all the same nonsense—one day it's just a rebranded version of Windows Vista, the next it's this, then it's that...
I don't see why you even care. Either get it running and move on, or if you're feeling particularly picky, just go take a walk. You've got Linux, macOS, Android, Symbian, and all those other useless pieces of junk to choose from. 😛

Does anyone know how to turn off that super annoying sound that plays every time I adjust my volume?

It’s driving me crazy

Not really, sorry.

edit: here it is: windows ding

image

But seriously, where are you looking? Go into the system sound settings, find the default beep, click on "windows ding," scroll all the way to the top, and set the sound to "none" or whatever it says on your screen

Does anyone happen to know why I keep getting this specific error message whenever I try to open a program or application from a RAR or ZIP file? Any idea how to fix it?
I already tried downloading the latest versions of both WinRAR and WinZip, but it didn't seem to change anything at all.
