Just walk into a CVS or Walgreens and say, "Hey, can I get a pregnancy test?" and you're good to go. Usually, they just hand you one of those $15 kits or something similar... then you just read the instructions and call it a day.

Intim plus, $20.
But I highly doubt you're going to see any kind of result just two days after having sex. When are you actually supposed to take the test?

🤣 .. Look, you just have to wait for your next period—meaning, if it doesn't show up, then you finally take the test, because right now, there is absolutely nothing you can see... you aren't even pregnant yet; you're just incredibly spooked and confused.😘

Robin Lopez54 said:I recently had sex for the first time with my boyfriend, whom I’m deeply in love with... he was being really gentle. It wasn't painful, and there wasn't any bleeding because I'm an athlete—my hymen actually tore a while ago during training; I remember seeing a bloodstain on my underwear after practice, and nothing like that has happened since... It did hurt a bit during penetration, though, and he could tell I was uncomfortable... We used a condom twice and went without it four times. He didn't finish inside me, just outside, but... my period ended two days before this happened, and I am terrified that I might be pregnant. He tells me I'm fine, but I know what I felt...

I wanted to ask if anyone knows how pregnancy tests work and how much they cost... maybe a baby is coming $133, and I'm definitely not ready for that... If anyone knows anything... I'm heading to Washington, D.C. soon and will be there for a month, so I know they'll have better selection at the pharmacies there... Does anyone know which test to get, what the price range is, and stuff like that? I'm a minor, so I can't exactly go get an ultrasound or anything like that yet...

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

you don't actually have to be an adult to get an ultrasound 🙄

I suppose any standard pregnancy test from CVS or Walgreens would work; most are pretty reliable. You might want to wait until the day your period is due, or perhaps a day or two after that using your first morning urine.👍

I need help... maybe it’s related to pregnancy... but I feel the urge to go twenty times a day, and every single time I sit down, about five drops leak out. It hurts and it burns! What can I do to make this stop?

And another thing... I went to the pharmacy to ask the pharmacist, but she told me I couldn't even buy a test because my period hasn't been missed yet... but my cycle isn't due for another month... and I can't wait that long... I had unprotected sex 2 or 3 days after my last period... and I know stress will just make it late anyway...

Perhaps it would be most prudent for you to consult with a physician; perhaps they could perform a blood draw, which might offer some clarity on the situation. One wonders how much time has elapsed since your last encounter? Regardless, I suppose there is little else left for you to do now but wait with patience.

Hey Robin Lopez54,

First things first: just take a deep breath and try not to spiral. Honestly, there’s a really good chance you aren't pregnant. As for that stinging sensation when you pee, though—you should probably go see a doctor or hit up an urgent care clinic. If you guys were having unprotected sex, it’s super possible you picked up a little infection or a UTI. Regarding pregnancy tests, none of them are going to give you a reliable answer before your period is actually due, so there's really no point in stressing over them just yet.

My last period started around March 26th or 27th. My cycle usually runs anywhere from 28 to 38 days.
We used condoms every single time and made sure he didn't finish inside—total paranoia mode.
Now I'm stuck spiraling, wondering if I'm actually unlucky enough for a condom to fail and leave me pregnant because of bad luck.

Given how my cycle works, there's a decent chance it's just an issue with my ovaries, but the thought of being pregnant is driving me crazy.
I'm planning to hit up the gynecologist tomorrow or Thursday.

You aren't that "lucky"

Periods get delayed due to stress and paranoia, among other things... and they usually decide to stay away exactly when you're most worried about them. But they eventually show up.

What's the point of typing this out when you already know? Condoms are reliable if used correctly. They don't just develop microscopic holes; if one breaks, there's no sperm left in it. It’s highly unlikely anyone would get pregnant from pre-ejaculate alone.

So, my last period was on March 16th. I usually get mine every 27 days, right? Well, I took a test today and it was positive. I honestly couldn't believe it, so I rushed to my OBGYN. She basically told me she didn't see anything and that there's no sign of pregnancy, so I should just come back in two weeks. Right after the exam, I went straight back to CVS to grab another test and—surprise, surprise—it was positive again... what do you guys think? Should I trust the tests or my doctor?? Help! I even did a third one on April 28th and it was also positive.

Here’s the deal: I noticed some light spotting this past Saturday, so I headed over to the clinic in Seattle. The doctor said it wasn't an emergency, but he sent me to get my HCG levels checked tomorrow. On the ultrasound, he saw this tiny little black dot that he thinks might be the very beginning of a pregnancy, but he wants the bloodwork to confirm everything. Man, I am so nervous. I actually did six or seven more home tests last night and they were all positive too.

For me, it's been some gradual spotting. It isn't heavy—I just notice it when I wipe—and it doesn't happen every single time. Nothing hurts and I feel totally fine, but this has been going on since Friday. I’m heading back for more bloodwork on Tuesday. Yesterday my levels were at 176 and they actually managed to spot a tiny little black dot inside my uterus.
Based on my levels, I'm about 4 weeks along and that little dot is definitely in my uterus. I have to go back for more bloodwork next Tuesday, but this spotting has been happening for six days now and I'm just terrified that something might be going wrong.

I am living, breathing proof that phantom pregnancies are a very real thing. 😂 Honestly, I feel like a complete idiot right now... 🤣
Basically, I managed to gaslight myself into believing I was pregnant. I had the aches, the nausea, my period was late, even coffee started tasting revolting, and everything smelled like garbage... I had every single symptom you could imagine. Then I finally took a test, and it came back negative. Once I stopped obsessing over the possibility, my period showed up two days later. And if you want to know the funniest part? As much as I was terrified of seeing that positive sign, I was just as crushed when it didn't show up.

I'm honestly kind of scared I might end up in the same boat this month.... 🙄

Well, you obviously aren't pregnant if you were having sex just 2-3 days after your period ended... you clearly have some kind of inflammation or an infection—because pregnancy doesn't cause genital stinging.
How can anyone tell you that you can't buy one??? You go in and you buy it—it's your money. Maybe the pharmacist was just emphasizing that it wouldn't be worth your while since you almost certainly aren't pregnant, and honestly, she’s right.😉

And hey, listen, maybe it’s just some weird sinus thing from a cold? Honestly, just grab your man and head over to the OBGYN, or just pick up the cheapest test you can find at CVS $5.00 and if it says you're pregnant, then you're pregnant! A test can never be false positive. Seriously, I did six different tests and they all came back positive, yet my doctor told me I wasn't even pregnant! Just go read my previous post and you'll see what I'm dealing with... though, I guess it might still be too early to actually see anything on an ultrasound,

And frankly, I don't care if her medical degree is hanging on the wall; she didn't spot my pregnancy until I was five weeks past my period—or three weeks after my last cycle.

I’m stuck in this tiny little town where she’s basically the only doctor in sight. The old doc is totally retired, and now this one is driving everyone away because her diagnoses are just... way off. Seriously, how does that even happen?

How on earth would you know when she actually ovulated??????

Oh, yeah...

So then I guess I gave birth to Jesus, according to your logic...

Help, ladies—I need some advice:
So, here’s the deal. My period is super late—like, since the beginning of February. My OB-GYN did an ultrasound and didn't see anything, so she says I'm definitely not pregnant. Plus, my blood work and urine tests came back totally normal... nothing concerning at all. Anyway, my doctor put me on Logest pills for three days (taking two a day) to try and jumpstart things so I can finally get my period.
The big question is: when is this "famous" period actually supposed to show up???
Has anyone else gone through this whole "inducing" process? How long are you supposed to wait after that last pill before it finally arrives???

Thanks!

My sister actually gets her period while she's on the pill, but once she stops taking them, it just vanishes. She’s been on a few different types lately, though I don't know the specifics, and her checkups haven't turned up anything alarming. She's healthy, but she isn't ovulating, and her gynecologist found some significant inflammation that she's currently treating; she suspects the inflammation is what's stalling both her cycle and her ovulation.
