Yeah, I’m leaning towards getting the cake from them. Honestly, everything I’ve tried there has been incredible—the quadruple chocolate, the Black Forest, the cheesecake, even that raspberry parfait cake... My mouth is watering just thinking about it, which isn't helpful since I'm supposed to be dieting 😠. As for the dessert table, I’m still on the fence. Personally, I’d probably skip the sweets entirely, but let's be real—the older crowd at a wedding usually expects the full spread...

hehehehe... we still haven't quite settled on which three flavors to go with... a fruit sorbet is definitely happening, and I really need to keep my partner happy, so there’s going to be dark chocolate... as for that third one, we’re still totally up in the air 🙂

plus, you absolutely have to have some sweets on hand—you know how it is, the ladies need something to snack on 🙂

I’ll probably end up grabbing some sweets, though I suspect I get a little too carried away when it comes to dessert... I’ve sampled their little bite-sized treats, but honestly, the chocolate fudge brownies and that cherry swirl cake were easily my favorites.

I’ve got a quick question—how exactly does Cukeraj handle their pricing... is it based on weight?

Yeah, by my math—maybe 12, 14, or even $5.00 depending on which one you pick... unfortunately, I don't have the exact breakdown of the pricing right in front of me, but if you just take a quick peek at their website, I think you'll be able to figure out the cost pretty easily 🙂

Look, I know their pricing by heart, I really do. I was just curious about the actual mechanics of how they bill us...

Heartland is located over in the suburbs, and just to clarify, they aren't just a small local shop, but actually operate as a full corporation, www.a1-centar.hr, so once you pull up the website and click on Heartland, you'll see all their photos of cookies and cakes... I can't quite recall if the lady in charge goes by Lilian or Mirian, though...

I have just finished checking everything, and I can confirm that all the details are listed right there on the webpage, Lilian and Sonia...

Hey girls, does anyone know how much a cake from Heartland weighs?
And honestly, are their cakes actually any good?

With all the prep for the bake sale going on... we've been busy... I'm having such a hard time tracking down photos of the desserts.🤷

Hey guys, I could really use some help.... I’m honestly not much of a sweets person, so I don't really know anything about baking...
How many ounces should I put in those little individual dessert boxes for guests? I was thinking maybe 8 or 10 ounces per box, does that sound okay???
Also, for the salad, how much should I plan for each person??? Someone told me 3 or 4 ounces per person, but that feels way too small, doesn't it???

I’d probably set aside about 25 days for sharing too... and when it comes to the party, I was told 10 to 15 days would suffice—though honestly, that feels a bit stingy to me, so I think I’ll bump it up to 20 days just to be safe... then again, my guest list isn't exactly huge, so if I end up with an extra couple of pounds left over, it's really no big deal... there's always someone happy to eat it anyway.

What’s the deal with wedding cakes at Heartland? Do they charge per slice or what?
And where exactly are they located? Just curious.

Amy Howard3 said:I actually live right by the Holy Spirit area, so Charlotte is basically right under my nose, though I don't find myself stopping in there all that often. To be honest, I wouldn't even go if they didn't offer fructose-free options; since my partner is diabetic, whenever I don't feel like baking from scratch, I'll pop in to grab something for him. They look beautiful, but in my opinion, the flavor is pretty much the same across the board. Personally, I wouldn't recommend them, but of course, it’s entirely up to you and your own preference.😉

I’m over in the downtown area, so I pass Charlotte every single day too... I tried one of their hazelnut cakes once... and seriously, it was incredible, even for someone like me who isn't a huge sweet tooth. Plus, my partner is diabetic too... what a coincidence, right? But thank God he has an insulin pump, so we don't have to stress quite as much about the sugar in desserts...

My problems are actually sorted out now... since the wedding is so tiny, my sisters-in-law and aunts stepped up with their baking skills, so we handled everything within the family... We'll just order a cake somewhere else later because I mmmust have one with that smooth glaze... that's my one big wish...

Taylor Swift, you'd be laughing your head off if you heard me screaming my lungs out coming out of the maternity ward at the Holy Spirit back in my sixth month... hehe...

Thanks for all the advice, everyone!

We swung by M's last night. We put our order in for the cake, though we didn't get a chance to sample the chocolate one since it wasn't quite ready yet. Basically, the cake works out to be $3.25 per head, and you just need to give them a heads-up about the guest count a week in advance, just like you would with any restaurant.
The pastries are seriously delicious. A kilo usually runs $33, but if you decide to go big and grab more than 15kg, it drops to $30. Though, honestly, if you find anything wrong with the treats, don't blame the baker—blame the servers in the hall!

So, does anyone actually have some solid intel on the bakery scene in San Francisco?? I’m looking for the lowdown on prices—and specifically, where the best spots are located. I'm interested in everything from small pastries to full-blown cakes.
