Have you actually tried their pastries? Do you happen to know what they charge per pound?

Thanks for the wedding gift ideas, ladies. I found some porcelain ones I'm obsessed with, but they aren't available in Slough. Does anyone know if I can find those white porcelain ones anywhere in New York City?

Thanks, Dana Wright4, I appreciate the thought, but let’s be real—they're just looking to sell, aren't they? That's not what I'm after. I need a rental.

I’m familiar with $27 Wedding Cakes $23 , but when it comes to the actual quality and presentation, nobody really touches them, and their cakes are truly exceptional. They maintain an album featuring over 150 different designs, though if nothing catches your eye, you can simply bring in a photo and they'll replicate it perfectly...

Honestly, I have no clue. Your best bet is to just call them and ask.👍

Yeah, unfortunately, renting is my only option right now. I’ve been scouring the city, but I can't find a single soul in New York City willing to rent out those specific stands. If anyone happens to have a lead or knows someone, please let me know.

Noah Green5 said:Regarding the dessert situation, we packed up 8-ounce boxes for guests to take home, which turned out to be just enough. As for the reception itself, we had ten tables of twelve, each featuring three massive platters overflowing with sweets. I actually worried we’d overdone it at first, but seeing how little was left by the end of the night, I was relieved we didn't skimp on the order...
I wanted to check if anyone here happened to pick up treats from the Sweet Secret bakery over by the Mississippi River. We used them for our wedding, and when my husband and I stopped by recently, the owner mentioned a few ladies from the Forum had been in to grab desserts for a wedding too.🙂I hope they lived up to expectations.😘

Hey everyone, just wanted to jump on here and share my experience with Emma's bakery. I've been a regular customer there for years, and honestly, their pastries are incredible—I’ve never had a bad experience until last Saturday, when I decided I am officially done with them for good. So, my 4-year-old son picked his birthday cake out from them, and we wanted this blue cake with an edible little car on top. We placed the order on Wednesday for that Saturday, but then on Saturday, someone from the shop calls me saying they couldn't get the edible car. Is there anything else we can do? Well, I guess I reluctantly agreed to let them do a little racing track design instead. But when I showed up to pick it up, I seriously could not believe my eyes. It was just this plain, square, white cake with nothing but "Happy Birthday Ivanna Sr." written on it. No decorations whatsoever. I have never seen such a pathetic excuse for a cake in my life. They charged me $50 even though it wasn't even close to what I actually ordered. If you could have seen the look on my son's face—he was practically in tears—I swear I almost threw the whole thing right in the middle of their shop, but I couldn't, since I was supposed to be hosting 25 guests. To top it all off, once I finally tasted the cake, it was supposed to be chocolate with raspberry filling, but it was just your standard, basic chocolate. I mean, you just wouldn't believe it🤷

I’m honestly sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience with them!
Personally, I think their pastries are flawless, and I’ll definitely be placing an order with them for my wedding!
I truly can't wrap my head around how things could have gone so wrong...🤷

I've mentioned this on the food boards before, but I figured I'd repeat it here just in case.

They used to be amazing, but...
About three weeks ago, I picked up a huge assortment of pastries and grabbed two slices of cake while I was at it.
The hazelnut cake was actually pretty tasty, but the Black Forest was a disaster—the cherries were mushy and flavorless, and the sponge was just off.
We usually just stick to those creamy mixed treats we love; you know, the triple-layered delights, those southern-style comforts, the cream puffs, or the Raffaello style ones.
They were honestly terrible—just pure margarine goodness. They looked fine, just like always, but the taste was totally gone.
The best way to tell how much they've slipped is that I used to buy double the amount and nothing lasted until the next day, but this time, I ended up tossing more than half of it after just three days!
I stopped by on a Monday, so maybe they were just leftovers from some big wedding event?

Such a shame. 😢
It feels like a classic case of a business getting a bit too successful and trying to cut corners to maximize profits.

Maybe if you guys check in and let them know people are starting to notice the quality dip, they'll get back on track and make everything perfect again!

I just wanted to drop a quick warning here, because honestly, it’s always when you least expect it that people end up letting you down. I mean, I was so incredibly happy with everything before this—I wouldn't have even dreamed of being disappointed—but what I actually experienced was just... something else. They didn't even try to make it feel special or fun, which is crazy because we're talking about a kid here who was actually looking forward to this. Like, okay, maybe if it were an adult, I'd get it, but it's a child's excitement we're talking about. Now, don't get me wrong, the cake itself was delicious and totally fine on its own, but that wasn't really what I was looking for at all. I actually run my own hair salon, and I can't help but sit here thinking about how much easier it would be if I had just dyed someone's hair black instead of blonde! Not that I want to go on and on about my own grievances, mind you, just a little heads-up. I'm not saying the quality isn't there—it's definitely good—but you really have to stick to the agreement. And hey, next time you guys head over there, feel free to mention my situation; maybe tell them that Antonija Blaće and her mom recommended me ages ago and that it's not some paid advertisement or anything. I truly believe you have to approach your work with the same passion you had on opening day if you want to succeed. Everyone makes mistakes, I get that, but I always try my best to make things right so everyone walks away feeling a bit more satisfied.

Oh, I totally forgot to mention—I’ve been ordering cakes from all over, but if you want my honest opinion, nobody does them quite like the folks at Sweet secret in Stupnik. They are just seriously delicious, and don't even get me started on how good they look; the lady there basically makes whatever you can dream up. If anyone's interested, she actually has a website, and she even posted a photo of the cake I ordered from Antonia for a birthday, and it was sitting right there at the front of the page under the baptism cakes.☕

So, I was just checking out the prices for cakes by the pound, and wow... my wallet is already sweating. But seriously, how do you guys usually math this out? Like, how many pounds are you actually grabbing per person?

So, I was at this bakery and some guy told me that if you've got about 180 people, you'd probably need around 75 pounds for the whole room 😉

Does anyone happen to know an artist who does custom figurines based on my own designs?

Honestly, there’s this cute little shop over in Naperville—they don't really do much custom stuff unless you just show up with a picture in hand, but I guess that might be enough for some people.
