Wait, are those actually figurines meant to look like a bride and groom, or just some weirdly stylized, standardized versions?

Yeah, I was actually thinking about those little figurines... or maybe instead of people, we could go with something else entirely, like little kittens in love or something along those lines...

tiki... I had my elephant figures made in Vincennes since they matched the set perfectly... but there's this cute little shop called Charlotte right near my office on Fifth Avenue where you can get custom shapes for $8.25 (per piece) if you want them... I asked them recently... they do everything from cars and bikes to paintbrushes, cats, dogs, even balls...
...just make sure to give them a few days' notice so they have enough time to set properly...

We had 40 kg of pastries for 75 people. We used 10 kg for the restaurant and another 8 kg was passed out as people were leaving. Everything else went home with us and eventually ended up being shared with neighbors—it’s just how we do things here, plus we always get plenty of treats from others. Work, our local coffee shop... basically, everything disappeared. We only tossed about 2 kg the day before yesterday. I ordered 10 kg of authentic, homemade sweets from a neighbor over on Manhattan because her price per kilo is $25, and those went straight to the hall. The rest came from a supplier in Columbus that works with Walmart; they’re nicely packaged and actually taste good.

And let's be real about all that self-promotion? Come on... please... ☕

Excuse me, does anyone happen to know the current price per pound for wedding cakes at Emma's bakery?

Since I see so many of you praising their pastries, I've become quite curious about their pricing.

Hey. I stopped by there recently, and a pound of cake was $23.

I was honestly thinking about picking up a cake from Vincennes, but I’m kind of stressing out that it might be way too greasy—I feel like every single wedding cake I’ve ever had lately has been super heavy and oily... Does anyone have a solid recommendation for somewhere else?

This is seriously such good info to know, I was honestly just wondering where I could track down some unique cake toppers! 👍

Ksenia had an amazing one—some kind of ice cream cake!

Are you absolutely sure about that?
I heard they bumped up their prices over on $27... though honestly, it might just be a rumor...🤷

Since everyone’s talking about Emma, I gotta jump in and share my experience just to give them a little reality check 😉
So, for my wedding, I ordered this WHITE whipped cream cake—three tiers, all separate, they were supposed to stack them at the venue
I show up to pick it up and it’s PURPLE!!! Total disaster, though luckily I had purple decor at the wedding. Imagine if it had been red. We call the manager and she’s acting like she knows it was supposed to be white, acting all confused about why it ended up purple 😲 They told me they’d leave some extra whipped cream so it could be fixed once the tiers were stacked. So I’m asking for the white frosting, looking her dead in the eye, and she hands me white cream 😲 but the cake is still freaking purple 😕 I’m there trying to defend myself, explaining how I can fix this with white frosting... and she just gives me this blank stare. 🙄 And now I’m out of the purple frosting too.
In the end, I asked them to box each tier separately, but they didn't even have covers for most of them. My dear friend ended up having to carry the whole thing in her arms all the way back to the Suburban area.
They ended up not charging me for the cake and apologized, so I let it slide and actually went back to them later for my honey's birthday cake. It tasted a bit weird. Since then, I only buy their cookies.

The cookies are great!! Except they also "forgot" to give me 2 lbs of cookies that were sitting in their fridge (and those were the little scraps of my absolute favorites 😢 ) even though I asked at least three times if that was everything. 👎 Thank god I grabbed some extra treats when I saw there wasn't much left, otherwise there wouldn't have been enough. And yeah, I paid $ $33 / lb (since I picked how many pounds of which cookies I wanted) for those mini ones and some other kind I can't remember, and the rest was $ $27. They didn't exactly look like the photos on Emma's website, but they were tasty. 👍
Anyway, I figured calling them out might help shake them up so they might actually improve. 🤷

Look, just go with a parfait style—chocolate, vanilla, or honestly, I highly recommend the fruit parfait... ours was delicious.

Yeah, sure... except it wasn't actually ice cream. It was that famous M&M's parfait they make—so dense it almost feels like ice cream. I had one just like it once, and honestly, I can't say enough good things about it; it's top-tier stuff. Just look at the aftermath at Ksena's place—nobody even thought twice about grabbing a slice, and I know I wouldn't if I had to choose again...
By the way, the chocolate mousse in those M&M's is absolute perfection...

Hey everyone!
I was wondering if anyone here has ever ordered wedding pastries from the Local Bakery or the Ceranka confectionery over by the Black River? I know the price is roughly $15 per pound, but I’m really on the fence about whether they actually taste good or what the presentation is like. From what I've heard, the plastic catering boxes are already included in the cost. If anyone has actually sampled their sweets, I would truly appreciate an honest opinion! Thanks so much!

feraltrucker22, 😘

I haven't had the chance to visit yet, but based on what I've seen online and in that Target flyer, the pastries look incredible. I can only hope they taste as good as they look.
I really need to make a trip out to the Suburban area soon!🙂

I feel like giving $25 per pound is actually kind of low—honestly, if I’m ordering, I wouldn't just grab 2 lbs of dessert, I'd probably go way bigger than that. Don't they offer some sort of bulk discount or something?
Anyway, besides that, what are you girls planning to serve per person? I was thinking maybe 10 ounces... is that enough? One time I ended up with a whole half-pound left over at home, so now I'm second-guessing everything...

Word is, Friday is the best day to go if you want the full selection. I'm planning to grab a pound of assorted sweets and bring them home for my mom to inspect. She's the final judge, after all.😁
