So I grabbed a Hershey’s bar from this little corner bodega near my apartment today. I tear it open, and man... just gross. Like, visibly off. I check the expiration date on the wrapper and realized it doesn't expire until mid-January 😠. Okay, so it's technically "safe"—I mean, I probably won't end up in the ER after those two bites I took—but seriously, that chocolate has been sitting there forever. When stuff stays out in bad conditions like that, it starts getting all yellowish and weird... I mean, what kind of shop keeps ancient chocolate on the shelves? It's like they don't realize that once someone buys one of these and realizes how nasty it is, they aren't exactly rushing back to restock their pantry there. I ended up tossing $4.00 but since the actual expiration isn't for another week, I can't even go back and ask for a swap 😠👎

John, Lana, Tia, and Eve are all solid names, and even Victor—if we end up having a boy, he’s definitely getting that one. Look, I get it. You don't want people making fun of your kid's name, so you probably don't feel like making fun of anyone else's either, even if their kid is named after some mobster from a Scorsese flick. My whole vibe is pretty simple: if something bugs me, I’ll say it out loud, but I’m not about going around judging other people's business.

I mean, look, it’s not a crime to think someone’s name is weird or just plain funny. The issue only arises when the same person keeps driving you crazy by bringing it up every single day 😉

Victor definitely makes me think of Don Corleone too, but hey, I get that for some people, it’s just a classic, handsome name... though I can't help but start quoting Marlon Brando in my head whenever I hear it 😬 It's the same with John, I bet there are plenty of people who aren't fans of that one either. And honestly? I don't mind if someone tells me that. I'd much rather have someone be upfront and tell me why they don't like a name instead of just nodding politely while thinking it's ridiculous... whatever the topic may be 😁 The real headache is when it's my own child's grandfather. Every time we talk about the little guy and I say "John," he just rolls his eyes and makes some comment about how awful the name is... yeah, that's what I mean by being driven to exhaustion 👎

Honestly, everyone is seriously getting on my nerves with these stupid comments about how I’m going to end up having a kid instead of just collecting dolls... just because I'm constantly buying some new damn thing... which, by the way, I'm paying for with my own money, so why do they even care? Like, if I want to go out and buy fifteen T-shirts or maybe just two, that's my business, grrrrrrrrr..😠

First off, being a parent is my life and I absolutely love every single little thing I buy for myself.. and I am so incredibly sick of feeling like I have to justify why I picked up one more thing.. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..😱

In that case, perhaps you ought to take that advice directly to my brother-in-law, because he actually had the audacity to suggest we name our baby after our dog... so my little remark was born entirely from that context. Honestly, though, I have to wonder where he gets the nerve to pass judgment in the first place; when he had his own child, nobody dared to say a single word to him, so I fail to see why he suddenly thinks he's been granted some divine right to lecture us or offer unsolicited commentary on our lives.

So I went to my appointment at Mayo Clinic today and honestly, what a total nightmare. I’m actually looking forward to labor now because I genuinely think giving birth will be less painful than what that "doctor" put me through today! This guy handled me like he was breeding livestock or something... just zero empathy. He had his arm practically up to my elbow while I was hunched over, shoving and turning everything around, and that speculum? It felt like an XL size from some horror movie! I get it, they’re probably overworked and rushing through patients to hit quotas, but seriously, give us a little grace! A little tenderness goes a long way! Total creeps, the lot of them!
But whatever—the baby is healthy and on track, which is all that matters in the end.

It honestly drives me insane how much anxiety I’m feeling lately and just how completely out of it I feel... 🙄
I don't need to go around telling everyone my business... but it's already stuck in my subconscious whenever I look at something and think, "What if someone tells me I shouldn't buy this?" It's seriously getting on my nerves... I haven't even gone overboard with clothes or anything else, I've been super careful about grabbing bigger pieces during sales and clearance events... and with baby clothes... I mean, kids just mess everything up instantly, so there's no point in keeping them in pristine condition forever, right?
It's honestly just put me in such a funk..😢

Which doctor were you seeing? I usually see Dr. Miller and he’s actually been totally fine the one time I went to him, but the last two times some other guy was covering for him and I can tell you, I felt exactly like you did... I was aching and throbbing all day long... I literally had to hold my stomach with one hand just to make it to the restroom..😳

And don't even get me started on the bathroom... I know you're supposed to aim for the little hole, but if you can't actually hit the target, you end up soaking the entire stall, the floor, the walls, everything... fuuuuuuuuuj... I always say men are messy, but man, there are some seriously gross women out there too... it's terrifying... the bathroom is like three feet by three feet, and when you walk into a stall that's been completely soaked, you can't even turn around without stepping in someone else's urine.. and then later you hear that the woman who was in there before you had some kind of infection or disease, and you just sit there spiraling, wondering if you accidentally touched something and caught whatever she had..🤮

I told the guy, I said men are messy, but god, there are some seriously gross women out there too... it's terrifying... the bathroom is barely three feet by three feet, and you walk into a place soaked in someone else's pee and you can't even turn around without stepping in it... then later you hear the woman who was in there before you has some xy bacteria or whatever disease, and you're just sitting there wondering if you touched something you shouldn't have and caught it too... 🤮

Miller... and I should've stayed with him until the end of my pregnancy, but I don't know why I didn't. 🤷 I think he was out or something. I mean, this guy is alright, okay, we talk and stuff—but it's like being on a treadmill, nothing happens. And that nurse, the one checking your heart rate... 🤮 she was so cranky and rude, like, just get lost! Her desk looked like a cheap folding table from a garage sale!

Honestly, nurses can be such a trip... like, they act all high and mighty and stuck-up, but then they turn around and start calling everyone "sweetie" or "honey" or "darling" like they're your best friend or something. It’s wild.🤣

Wait, which Blajic is it again, the older one or the younger one? I swear, those two are always getting mixed up in my head because they've got such similar names. My cousin actually went to the older one for her prenatal care, and she was honestly so happy with everything—she’s just one of those doctors who is constantly joking around with her patients and making everyone feel totally at ease, you know?
I was actually planning on heading over to Dr. Miller’s clinic to get my prescription filled because, honestly, I much prefer the female physician's approach—there's just something about the way she handles things that works better for me than the guys. But then life happened and I had to make an emergency run over to the Mayo Clinic instead, and since it was a Tuesday, everything was totally backed up like it always is on those mid-week shifts. I tried going back a second time, but they were running some kind of massive training drill or something and I couldn't get in, and then the next time I showed up, the doctor wasn't even there! Maybe he's out hitting the slopes somewhere or just taking a much-needed break, who knows? It's such a headache when you can't get a straight answer, especially when you're dealing with people like those specialists at the local steakhouse, Dr. Herman, who seem to have their own schedule entirely.
I’m heading back out there on the 18th and honestly, I am low-key freaking out about the whole thing... like, my stomach is doing actual flips just thinking about it.🙄

Have you ever actually been to an ultrasound appointment over at Mayo Clinic? Seriously, if you think that’s what a real scan looks like, you haven't seen anything yet because that's basically just a glorified treadmill session. You walk in, you lie down on the table, and honestly, it feels like it's over before it even starts. Like, they don't even tell you anything or show you the baby—nothing at all! They just scribble down some measurements, toss you a "hope everything's fine" vibe, and then you're just left wandering around later trying to scroll through the results on your phone hoping you didn't miss something huge. It's such a weirdly impersonal way to do things, I swear. 🙄

I actually went for my ultrasound and it was with an older doctor—he was awesome! So I'm heading back to see him in two weeks.
And yeah, this one is the older one. He's fine, but the exam itself... 😲 seriously, get that speculum away from me! I honestly don't get what that piece of junk is even for, since they just shove it in, pull it out, and then start poking around with their fingers... or better yet, their whole forearm! 🤣

My instinct is always to let out a "yelp" or an "ouch" whenever something hurts, so I’ve been thinking lately—especially after reading all the stories here about how rough doctors can be during exams—why should I even hold back? Why shouldn't I make it crystal clear when it hurts? I know I probably look silly and people likely think I'm just being a sensitive crybaby, but honestly, I don't care... I'd much rather be seen as a crybaby than be treated like a piece of meat and just suffer through it because he's being careless... 🤷👎

Look, I don't whine—but let's just say I was thrashing around on that exam table like a feral cat! 🤣 Since I couldn't even get my chicken to calm down, I'm pretty sure she was bristling from the pain too 😬
I can handle a lot, but if it drags on too long, I start getting "lovely"... I swear, if things go on for too long, they might actually have to tie me down 🙄
I remember one time I accidentally elbowed my dentist right in the ribs because the pain was just too much to take 🤣 so hey, maybe they should just strap me in instead of dealing with me swinging these logs around at them!

My grandmother’s blood pressure spiked today!!! 😠
She called me—she has a house in the same neighborhood where I live, though she's staying with her daughter now so she isn't alone—and asked if I could swing by to check on something since I have a key. It really isn't far at all.
I told her, "Sure, I can do that, but I won't head out right this second; I'll go after lunch."
"Okay, just let me know when you're heading out!" she said.
So, I made my plans, finished up the dishes, grabbed the key, and started walking toward the house.
The street is pretty flat, so as I was walking, I saw her house and noticed my cousin's car pulling into the driveway. By then, I was already halfway there.
I muttered a little curse under my breath and just turned around to walk back home.🙂
About an hour and a half later, she calls me and says there's no need to come after all, because her cousin's husband drove her over.
I told her, "I know, I saw the car! You could have told me sooner instead of letting me get halfway there."
"Oh, well, look on the bright side, at least you got some fresh air!" she replied.
😠
I said, "It's not about that. My baby is sitting low, and I start getting those pregnancy pains whenever I move around too much."
"Oh dear, how awful!" she said.
😠
At that point, I just lost my patience. I told her it's fine that my cousin needs to rest, but I shouldn't be trekking around in the cold for no reason.
"But she isn't just lying around!" she argued. 😠 Which is funny, because just two weeks ago, she told me the cousin had to stay on bed rest because of some complications with the pregnancy.
Eventually, she started saying that maybe she just shouldn't ask me for anything anymore (her voice started trembling, sounding like she was on the verge of tears, 🙄)
I told her that would probably be for the best.
Then she started going on about how nobody needs her anymore and that she doesn't even need anyone to wish her a Happy New Year (though I was out of town anyway, and I didn't feel like performing social niceties just to stroke her ego), and she actually started crying...
And finally, she just shut the conversation down.

It's not that I'm a heartless granddaughter, but my aunt's place is always crowded. There are two married cousins and the whole extended family constantly hovering around dealing with their little domestic dramas, plus my uncle and aunt. She calls me because apparently, nobody else has five minutes to spare.😠
She's constantly driving my blood pressure up, and then tries to deflect using guilt trips—suggesting it's my fault for being "unwell"—but I've had enough of it.

Even back in the summer, she called me once to come change some curtains, even though my aunt and uncle had been there for two weeks straight, and my cousin had just visited the previous weekend.😠
Honestly, I think she's the one who's lost it.

It seriously gets under my skin when people start picking at names.
Nobody has any right to comment on what someone names their kid. That whole thing about Shogi is just straight-up unhinged—going up to someone and telling them their kid’s name sounds like a dog's? Like, why even? Why bother being that weird to people? I gotta say, we never had an issue with it on our end, except for my mom, who was obsessed with Viti. She kept insisting it sounded like some mobster name, but she eventually moved past it. Still, every single time she comes over, she asks if anyone said anything about the name, and I just tell her "nope," absolutely nothing—nothing at all—and that usually shuts the whole thing down.

Honestly, my biggest worry is just knowing they shave you right before delivery... the mere thought of someone scraping a razor over my skin while I'm dry gives me the chills. Especially with how sensitive my skin is, I can't help but think about the mess—blood, irritation, all that. And then there’s the possibility of needing stitches, which means those razor-burned hairs might just end up getting infected or ingrown right in the incision site 🤷 so I’d much rather just head to the salon for a Brazilian a few days before my due date and be good for two weeks straight 😍 As for the exams, I really don't care—I totally agree with what you said—as long as I'm clean, that's all that matters. But since I can still just handle things myself at home with a razor, I’ll do it for my own peace of mind... for now 😬 if it turns out I'm freshly shaved during an exam, great... if not, oh well. Maybe it'll actually be better that way 😬

Honestly, the thought of my nurses shaving me makes my skin crawl—I have my doubts about whether they actually swap out those razors for a fresh one every single time. I actually made my husband swear a blood oath that if I end up unable to reach everything myself once labor hits, he’ll step in and handle the shaving for me. If I happen to check into the hospital way ahead of schedule, though, I'm really hoping I can still manage to reach down there and do it myself.
As for the exams, I had an appointment with Herman once where he was being so incredibly gentle that I almost told him, "Hey, you can go ahead, it's fine," 😁 but then another time with Starčević, it was actually painful—plus, I overheard a few other moms-to-be in the waiting room complaining about how rough he is.

I honestly had no idea how much of a headache hair could be until I stumbled upon this 😬

Ladies, has anyone else noticed their skin reacting to jewelry—specifically earrings? I’m obsessed with accessories and have a huge collection, but I never had an issue until I became pregnant. Now, wearing my favorite earrings every day just isn't working out. My piercing holes feel incredibly sore and stinging, to the point where I have to leave them out for two or three days just to get some relief before I can even think about putting them back in. Is it possible that these hormonal shifts are causing this, or am I just experiencing a weird coincidence? Does anyone know what might be happening? It’s getting really frustrating 😢

Someone over at mentioned:

Hey ladies, has anyone else noticed their jewelry—specifically earrings—suddenly feeling super irritating? I’m totally obsessed with accessories and have a huge collection, and I never used to have any issues... but ever since I found out I was pregnant, wearing my earrings every day has become such a struggle. My piercings actually start aching and stinging, so I have to take them out for two or three days just to let things settle before I can even think about putting them back in. Is it possible this is tied to all the hormonal shifts happening in my body right now, or am I just overthinking it? Does anyone know if this happens? It’s driving me crazy 😢

Hmm... I'm not really sure. I wear earrings pretty much non-stop, only taking them out to swap styles... though most of the time I stick to gold-filled ones, basically the same thick style they used when I first got my ears pierced back in the day... 🤷 The only time it bothers me is when I go for something heavy or long, and after a few hours, the bottom of my piercing starts throbbing.

On the flip side, I feel like I actually dealt with something similar even before I was pregnant... honestly, I can't say for sure. Maybe you're just extra sensitive to everything these days and it's hitting you harder 🤷

It’s honestly so frustrating dealing with extreme sensitivity down there; intimacy is basically off the table for me right now. My gynecologist even suggested I stop waxing altogether and just stick to shaving—which is wild, because I haven't done that since middle school—claiming my glands are swollen or whatever. But the problem is, whenever I shave, I just end up with breakouts and irritated skin everywhere.🙄 At this rate, I might actually have to embrace being a total hair monster.😛

The same thing is happening to me during this pregnancy; I haven't been able to wear earrings for four months now. It's not like I'm wearing cheap costume jewelry either—it's mostly silver and white gold, and I love my earrings—but they just won't stay in.
And honestly, I'm not sure if it's the pregnancy itself, because about two months ago I developed a small cyst behind my ear, and my doctor told me to stop wearing anything in my ears until it cleared up.🤷
It could easily be a combination of both.
