analognomad59 said:Honestly, honey, he's not even worth the stress 🙂 how you choose to invite people to your big day is entirely up to you—it's *your* wedding, for crying out loud. Deciding who gets an invite, when they get it, what the dress code is, the menu, the playlist... that’s all on you and your partner to figure out.

I mean, is it really fair that the first time he's hearing about you being pregnant and planning a wedding is now? And now he's throwing a fit because you sent the invite a week early? Like, he had zero reason to assume you were getting married in the first place...🤷

I don't even know what kind of invitation he was expecting, considering we haven't even spoken in months. 🙄
Frankly, it makes me sick when people expect you to treat them like absolute divas, yet they turn around and treat you like a second-class citizen.
I don't need that kind of energy in my life. I'm drawing a line here; I won't fall apart without them or their unsolicited opinions.

Taylor Swift, that loser isn't worth a single syllable from you, let alone a tear. I know exactly what it feels like to get absolutely nothing from someone who should’ve been your rock—I haven't heard a peep from mine since my 12th birthday. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, he decides to call. Oh, poor guy's in the hospital, boo-hoo, crying his eyes out, blah blah blah—apparently, life finally bit him in the ass and he remembered he actually had a kid. Let's just say I shut him down fast. No need for details. And honestly? Zero regrets. He doesn't even need to reach out when he kicks the bucket. That's not a father—not by any stretch of the imagination. In my book, biology is a total non-factor.
As for wedding invites, my father-in-law pulls the same kind of stunts. It's always "we'll do this" or "we'll do that." Look, we aren't. "Well, we'll invite this person or that person." Nope. "But we have to." No, we don't. If we just invite our friends, fine. But then it's "it HAS to be this way" or "it MUST be that way..." and then, surprise, he won't show up because—and I quote—he wasn't involved in the planning. You won't come? Cool. Glad we cleared that up.
He didn't show. We didn't miss him, and nobody even noticed he was gone. I'm sure he's feeling pretty bad about it now (we're on decent terms), but that's his cross to bear, not mine...

I think you hit the nail on the head there.
Even my mom says that biology isn't everything—it doesn't define who raised you or give you any inherent advantage in life.
You’re right, too; we don't actually owe anyone anything.
I know he probably isn't worth the tears, but I guess I still feel a bit of a sting. I was really attached to him, and his opinion meant a lot to me. It makes me regret getting married so many times before.
I’ll likely have a traditional wedding ceremony at a church eventually, maybe alongside a baptism, but I suppose that feels different than that first time when you truly become husband and wife.

Taylor Swift just hang in there and keep your eyes on the prize—your baby, your husband, and all that happiness waiting for you on the other side 🙂

As for the whole bladder control situation,
it’s honestly just getting worse by the day; I feel like I’m constantly soaked because no amount of pads seems to do the trick... and honestly, I used to be one of those people who thought you didn't really need them during pregnancy... well, look at me now, leaking everywhere like a broken faucet 😳

I was literally saying the same thing to my Tika once! It's constant. One minute you're peeing uncontrollably, then it's just random leaks from your bladder, or crazy vaginal discharge 🙄 and then you sneeze and suddenly you're peeing and farting at the exact same time 🤦 AND IT JUST GOES ON AND ON LIKE THAT! 😍

My coworkers just got on my case over some stupid nonsense regarding my annual 🙄

Honestly, it’s been so frustrating dealing with this contract position. Since I don't have a full year under my belt yet, I'm stuck at minimum wage, and I have absolutely no idea if they'll even have a spot for me once my maternity leave is up... 😢

You know what really gets under my skin?!
It’s the fact that I have to do EVERYTHING by myself!
My husband finishes his shift at the office and then immediately heads out to pull some side hustle to make extra cash. Honestly, I am so done with feeling like a single parent in a marriage!
And the house? It’s a total disaster zone! Like a bomb went off in here. It feels like there’s an endless mountain of laundry, dishes, and greasy pots to scrub, and I just can’t face it anymore. It takes me five days straight just to get through the basic chores.😠
Then my old man comes home—usually after hanging out at his girlfriend's place—and he won't lift a single finger to help!!
The other day, I actually put in the effort to get the place looking decent, only for both those lazy bums to stomp right into the living room with their dirty shoes on!!!😠😠😠
I am sick and tired of being alone in this and carrying the whole damn load!
Tomorrow, I’m not cooking, I’m not doing laundry, and I’m not doing a damn thing!
You guys can go screw yourselves and fend for yourselves while you're out playing around all day!

...honestly, I feel better already...

it was the exact same for me... people would even accuse me of looking like I was just lounging around when I was actually home all day... but god, i'm pregnant... i can barely bend over, my back is killing me, and i feel totally helpless...
then there's the baby shopping... once again, it's all on me... because "honey" says we have plenty of time... what kind of f***ing time? i'm 36 weeks along and... well... i just packed everything up and went to stay with my mom so he could figure it out himself... let's just say i finally got some rest and felt reborn
sometimes i wonder if this is even my kid... probably, since the jerk hasn't even stepped up to help buy anything yet... things are easier now though... i buy stuff on my own or with my family... set it all up in my old room at my parents' place and i'm just waiting for the happy moment

Look, dear, I’m not going to sugarcoat things by telling you that life is suddenly going to get easier once the baby arrives 😢 I really wish I were wrong about this, I truly do... but if I’m being honest and speaking from my own experience, everything you're feeling right now will likely stay exactly the same after you give birth, plus you'll have a tiny little newborn to deal with on top of it all. If the people around you don't understand what you're going through or aren't stepping up to support you during this pregnancy, I guess there's probably not much hope that they'll suddenly see reason or come to their senses once the baby is here... 🙂 and honestly, that whole thing just really gets under my skin

I know I’m basically flying solo here... honestly, there have been a few times where I was right on the edge of just packing his bags and telling him to get lost. At least then I’d actually be alone, instead of sitting around waiting and expecting help, only to get absolutely nothing out of it. 😢
And being stuck at home is just killing me, especially now since I can't even move much. Every single bone in my body aches, but I’ve made a vow: once the baby arrives and gets a little older, maybe sometime next spring, the two of us are hitting the road. We could head to Malibu, maybe hit up some spots in San Diego—anywhere, really!
Meanwhile, the people at home are just sitting around waiting for their meals to be served, everything washed and folded and ready to go.

Oh, and by the way, they actually have the nerve to get pissed at me when I tell them to just eat where they've been sitting all day!!! 🙄

Edward Rodriguez4, I know exactly how you feel... mine claims he did some "massive" cleaning the other day. Honestly, don't even get me started—man, if he’d actually cleaned the whole damn house, we wouldn't be having this talk. Like, okay, great, you vacuumed. What now? You want a Medal of Honor or a trophy for being the MVP of housework?
So, I finish my own marathon cleaning session in the bedroom, bend down to grab something, and what do I see? Under the bed... it wasn't even dust anymore. It was basically little balls of lint forming their own ecosystem...
Wait a second, you said you vacuumed? And there's still stuff under the bed?
Oh. So he didn't even touch the bedroom...

🤦 🙂

I am going to kill him. Seriously, I'll just end him!

Man, I've been telling him for a week straight to vacuum our room upstairs. I’d do it myself, but we have one of those heavy-duty shop vacs that needs water, so I’d have to lug it downstairs to fill it up, then drag the whole thing back up the stairs. Obviously, that's the last thing on my mind right now. And the eye-rolling when he does that "ugh, fine, whatever" routine... Then he has the nerve to ask if he *really* has to haul the vacuum upstairs?! I told him yes. He’d much rather just use a broom because apparently, this thing doesn't have enough suction. I told him, "Look, it's laminate flooring, not some industrial warehouse floor, stop making it a thing." So we settled on a compromise between the broom and a wet mop, and you can just imagine how much of a disaster that turned out to be...
I am losing my mind.
It's all their mothers' fault!
Honestly, if I ever have another kid and it's a boy, he's definitely cleaning up after himself from day one...

I can’t even say this guy’s "help" actually works. 🤷 Like, sure, he does stuff—but HOW he does it is the problem. First example: vacuuming without touching the bedroom.
Second example: dusting. Great, now what? What am I supposed to do with the rest of the mess?
Third example: I go to clean the bathroom. Fine. But what about the toilet? Did he even look at the toilet?
Fourth: he takes out the trash. Cool. But what about the little bin in the guest bath? Yeah...

And so it goes, and so it goes, and so it goes...
To hell with this "helping" crap—what's the point if I have to go over everything eight more times with a rag, or end up doing half the damn work myself anyway?

Mine is the same way after a month of constant arguing and back-and-forth 🙄
man... it’s all pretty much useless if you actually look at the results.
Honestly, I find myself wondering why I haven't found a guy who actually handles everything—cooking, cleaning, laundry... is that just a total fantasy?! Especially when I'm pregnant...

Honestly, what gets under my skin the most is just not being able to show my face anywhere without some random person breathing down my neck. It’s always the same tired questions—"Are you okay now?" "Did you have the baby yet?" "What happened?" "You look so swollen, you look like you're about to pop." It's constant, man.😠 I swear, I don't have the energy to sit there and explain my life story to every single person I run into.😛 They are just exhausting, seriously. That's it. My little one won't even leave the house, so we're basically stuck inside.😍

I'm right there with you... But, if I'm being honest, there's a small part of me that's actually glad people remember I exist. Though, it's equally infuriating to realize that the people who *should* be checking in are the ones staying silent. That's what really stings. haha

Honestly, don't let it get to you. I don't think they're actually being malicious; it's more like they've just gotten so used to things magically working themselves out that they assume the house stays clean without anyone actually lifting a finger... they just take the finished product for granted. 🙂

Don't stress yourself out, and definitely don't push yourself if you're feeling physically wiped. But don't let him complain either—if he starts nitpicking, just point him toward the vacuum and the cleaning supplies and say, "Hey, I love that you noticed the mess needs tidying! I'm just physically unable to bend over or pick things up right now." If he cleans it himself, great. If he doesn't, then don't do it for him. Maybe one day it'll click that you aren't capable of doing it all right now and he'll step up. As long as you keep pushing through using that "I can manage somehow" logic, he's just going to think you're fine and that it isn't even a big deal...😉

Well, at least mine doesn't complain to me, though honestly, there isn't much for them to do anyway. I do what I can when I can. It's all painfully slow, but I get it done. What really gets under my skin is how nobody ever asks, "Hey, do you need a hand with anything?" I'm over here struggling and practically breaking my back, and it's just crickets! 😠
I'm just counting down the days until I have my little one here and we both get a bit stronger so we can finally get out and enjoy life! Like I said before, you guys figure out your own way of handling things. I'll handle the essentials, obviously. Maybe then they'll finally realize what's going on... though I'm not holding my breath! 😁
