Edward Allen36 said:You claimed the goalkeeper isn't that vital in handball, yet history keeps proving otherwise—just like we saw here.
The Golden State Warriors aren't even in the same league as Los Angeles, Milwaukee, or those types of teams.
If memory serves, they made it to the Champions League semifinals a season or two ago, but I can't recall any other major success in Europe. They're just a mid-tier club. 🤷
Edward Allen36 said:Come on, tell me what you actually think about O'Meyer's performance here.
I don't get why you're defending this guy so hard when it's obvious he isn't anything special. From where I'm sitting, you're the only one sticking up for him. Are the rest of us just blind? 🤷
Edward Allen36 said:So, some guy named O'Malley—whoever he is, probably ancient—pulls off 20 saves in a World Cup semifinal against Spain, and then Pierce shows up to claim goalkeepers aren't actually a big deal in handball. 🙏
Where was that logic when Alilović racked up 20 saves in a massive game like that? You know, one where medals or a spot in the finals are actually on the line? 🙏

It's just like how that penalty save was our saving grace against Brazil.
A little bit of math:
The Americans can be happy and proud that their first nation made it through. The second one fell against an Arab nation—a home team.
The first French and Spanish nations can also hold their heads high. Meanwhile, there's a slightly less proud fourth Scandinavian nation sitting right below the other three on the map, leaving the rest of Scandinavia feeling pretty down. Then there's the pride found in the former Yugoslavian nations, which were knocked out by the second Slavic nation and the top handball powerhouse, though they fought hard until the end.

Domagoj Bičanić is basically set in the starting six until he retires; nobody is touching that spot as long as Goluža is in charge.
Aside from Dom Duvnjak, we don't have anyone with the guts to take a shot out of nothing.
Buntić is a disaster... the guy doesn't even know how to drive through a defender.
Vori is way too static on the line; even Domagoj Balić from the 2003 World Cup in Portugal wouldn't be able to find him an open look.

Gerald Jones56 said:That wasn't a foul at all. Poljak just had a clean shot...
Gerald Jones56 said:Duvnjak just ran in on an open lane because nobody was there to cover him. Still, Bičanić really stepped up out of nowhere, and that Polish player Goluža is doing a hell of a job keeping the keeper on his toes...
