Jacob, is that you? 😍

Does anyone have a link for the CBS stream? Thanks! 🙂
Where’s that guy who was hanging out with Mike? 🙂

dustypanther6 said:What kind of arguments is he even making?? He’s basically trying to claim that Scottie Pippen having a shooting percentage that's 0.2% better in seasons without Michael Jordan than in seasons with him is somehow significant. What kind of argument is that??

Is that really all you took from it?
Just ignore everything else the guy actually wrote.

Honestly, props to Jason Fisher78. He laid out so many undeniable facts, while everyone else barely managed to bring a single point to the table to counter him. And yet, I still see some people posting laughing emojis.

Regarding the GOAT debate, I wouldn't say Michael Jordan is untouchable. I’d throw Magic Johnson into the mix—he was absolutely dominant in his era, especially considering he likely had the better roster with the Boston Celtics. Magic was a total freak of nature; being able to play all five positions in a single game is probably something we'll never see again.
Once I read Packa claiming Kopljar is playing elite defense and that trying to balance him with Buntić is a nightmare, I just stopped reading his stuff.

That’s all I have to say about this World Championship... though maybe if the Americans played a little more aggressively, things would be different.

Then Goluza would finally have an excuse for losing to the world champions.

Joshua Gomez54 said:Vujin would be a monster if he actually had a brain, but unfortunately, he doesn't.🤣 To me, I just don't care one way or the other about him.😁 Maybe they can teach him something in Chicago.

Vujin lacks any real imagination on the court. He’s just a ball hog who doesn't know when to quit. I've never seen him pull off a move like Hansen or Rutenka.
There's no way he's starting alongside Andersson. He probably won't ever.
It’s just 19 pages. No McA involved, so it isn't what you think. 😁
frozentiger6 said:It’s not like he was indecisive; almost every other attack involved him driving through the lane. 😁

Still, he always had the shot ready, so he’d just pull up from deep.

He keeps improving year after year. Just two or three years ago, he was playing so cautiously, but look at him now—driving to the line, setting up the wings, actually contributing to the flow. He’s already a better offensive threat than Pere. If he could just figure out the defense, he’d be an elite player at his position.

Everyone worships Eugene, but Buntic is actually the brains of the operation. Eugene just knows how to shoot and... well, shoot. Buntic is a genuine surprise; he used to seem a bit raw 😁 but now he plays with such maturity and logic, perfect for the deeper 🙏

It’s a shame he isn't moving on from Ademar, though maybe their finances will force his hand. I think he belongs in a much higher-tier club.
As for Mike, I hope he leaves Celje ASAP. That club has talent, but the internal chaos there is just eating them alive.

Carl Garcia22, didn't you mention Terzic recently? I honestly thought he’d be a star too. I was even leaning toward him joining the US national team. But looking at Buntic today, he's twice the player Terzic is, regardless of them playing different positions.

Same story with Prce-Lac; Lackovic was basically handing Nicholas towels during the junior leagues, and look at the gap between them now. Sure, Prce is a solid club player—maybe even the top scorer in the NBA?—but he’s nowhere near Lackovic's level.

I was thinking the exact same thing about Eugene. The guy has zero moves; he just has that shot. He's that old-school perimeter shooter who doesn't know the first thing about defending or passing. Compared to him, Buntic is a specialist. His progress in Kopra was so massive I could hardly believe it when he moved to Ademar.

Buntic used to drive me crazy because he wouldn't decide what to do with the ball. He’d take three steps, jump, and then just throw it into the stands. And Terza? He played with zero respect, just chucking shots wherever, while being a nightmare on defense. The team from Los Angeles absolutely dismantled him because he offered nothing offensively.
You're right about Prce, too. What a waste of potential, both ways. Those guys in Los Angeles ruined him. He clashed with them, they wouldn't let him leave, and he ended up drifting through Saudi Arabia and God knows where else.

I have no idea why Mike left Ademar. He was such a huge prospect for Celje. It was really 🙄. There was a chance he could have gone to Lowen, and I think that option is still on the table, though it might be tough following this World Cup.😁
frozentiger6 said:Not much to report. I was working radio for Euro Disney (or Coca-Cola, if you want the American version 😁 ) back when Rebellion and Mike were just starting out. And Vukic 😁

Then Mike stepped up and stopped over 20 shots against Barcelona, and I thought, okay, he’s definitely going to be the national team's first-choice keeper.

As for Buntic, I only mentioned him because seeing Buntic lose his cool is like watching... I don't know, Halley's Comet, or whatever it's called. 😁

And then there's Saravanja, who absolutely tore it up with 8 goals—he probably had no idea what was coming for him. 😁

So you watched Buntic too? He was so indecisive, honestly more than Kopljar is today. I feel like I lost ten years of my life watching him, even if he played a great game that night.
frozentiger6 said:Duga, let's just take this to private messages so we don't clog up the thread.

Fine by me.😁

Goluža: The Frenchmen are playing great, but they've got an Omeyer who pulls off 20 saves every single game.

What a joke. How are they not getting those numbers when they play such suffocating defense? The Swedes can't even string three passes together before they're pushed back to the 10-meter line. They’re playing right on the edge of being penalized constantly, and you're still over here worrying about practicing blocks?!!
Hey, what's the word? I’m watching the matchup between Denmark and Špalj, and honestly, I’m staying pretty chill about it. 😁
Buntić dropped 9 goals. Not exactly breaking news, is it?
Duvnjak is a master at this. I just hope Noka makes it out to Hamburg soon; I’m getting tired of watching Goluža play.

@vanjushka: How do you even know about Buntić?

dustypanther6 said:The others mentioned played team basketball, but unfortunately, they did it during an era we all know well. They won titles six times with Chicago, twice with Hakeem Olajuwon, and once with Tim Duncan and David Robinson—some of the greatest ever. If Chicago hadn't retired, even a legend like Hakeem might not have a ring. Allen Iverson never played team basketball. If he had adapted his talent to the squad, I think people would speak about him in much better light than we do, because he truly was a generational talent (but then again, Sesar was a generational talent too, so we know how that ends)

So what era was Allen Iverson actually playing in? He started out during the Chicago era, and then he moved through a time when the Spurs and Lakers had rosters three times better than the Philadelphia 76ers. It would have been nearly impossible for Allen Iverson to win a title with those 76ers; he gave everything he had, but it just wasn't there.
Sure, he didn't play team basketball, but you can't deny he was a phenomenal player.
Come on, don't compare Sesar to Allen Iverson. Sesar is twice the patient Allen Iverson is.

darkjackal70 said:That comparison doesn't really hold water... you're mixing apples and oranges here. Comparing an individual sport to a team sport just isn't the same thing.

Basketball is a team game. You aren't going to find players like Allen Iverson getting the respect they deserve because, by your logic, he was "ruining" things
even though he never won a ring... forget those kinds of players.

So what, are we saying Karl Malone, John Stockton, Charles Barkley, and Patrick Ewing were bad players too?
I disagree. You have to respect Allen Iverson. He was only about 6 feet tall and still dominated the court; I doubt we'll ever see anyone like him again. He never had a roster built for a title run, and let's be honest, it was tough when you were facing the Los Angeles Lakers with Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. Even then, Allen Iverson gave it everything and put up an incredible series.

On the other hand, look at Mike Tyson. He became a world champion, but I’d argue he didn't win as much as he could have. Still, most people claimed nobody had ever boxed quite like him. There was a period where he dominated, much like Allen Iverson did.

Speaking of boxing, if you ask me, the Klitschko brothers are overrated.

dustyridge3 said:I know I’m going to get flak for this, but why on earth are clubs offering such massive sums for Luka Modrić? From what I've seen, he mostly just passes to the guy right next to him while sitting in his own half. Sure, he can slip a through ball to an attacker once in a while, but it’s rare. And his shooting isn't exactly lethal either. I'm not saying he's bad; I just think he's overrated.

Luka Modrić is basically a finalist for Premier League Player of the Year, so I guess he's worth something after all.🤷

darkjackal70 said:Off the top of my head, I can only think of one name, and he’s an NBA legend. Allen Iverson...

It really depends on your perspective.
If you're strictly looking at the trophy case, sure, he might be overrated. But if you look at what he actually did during his prime? Total respect. For those eight years, he was absolutely tearing it up, and that alone makes him a superstar.
I'd compare Allen Iverson to Mike Tyson. There was a specific window where he dominated the sport in a way we've never seen before in boxing.
Personally, I think we'll see another Chicago before we ever see another Allen Iverson.

Zovko: I think Kopljar played the ball perfectly. Hard to see a foul there.
Watch the replay—he’s got him by the jersey for a solid minute. 🤦
