INBOX !!!!! cleared. 😳
velvetgull9 said:Beyond that, I’d open a small seaside tavern accessible only by boat. I would just cook whatever I felt like making that day for whoever happened to wander in. 😁 😁

This isn't fair. My stomach is turning, yet you act like this. 🙂
... we're talking about forming a consortium to produce fuel—diesel, gasoline—from organic matter via the Fischer-Tropsch process. I used to plan massive industrial setups in a previous life, so this isn't exactly groundbreaking to me. The move would be to start by processing timber products (both small and large scale), then take the first $300 million in earnings to acquire a biotech firm. The goal? Genetically engineer rapeseed to hit three meters in six months, regardless of whether it's summer or winter. You'd see it growing across the plains from the Midwest all the way to Poland 😁 Planting, harvesting, processing—it would all be handled by automated machinery.
Headache help! in Health ·
Pills aren't the answer; they just kill the mood. At least for me.

And I had no idea about that concentration thing. Is a woman's orgasm some kind of mental exercise? What, you solve a system of five differential equations and then you're done? I always thought you were supposed to relax... Give it a shot, maybe you'll manage without the brainpower. Otherwise, you'll just end up with a headache from overthinking—I've been there. But I certainly didn't finish while doing that.😢
Pigeons are nothing more than flying rodents. We need to eradicate them all, including the grandmothers who feed them...

Good grief, when you force me to get specific... You throw a cloth over the Cow's head, wait for it to settle, then strike it right between the eyes with a hammer. Once the Cow is out cold, you can practically start butchering it.

I played that game once. Told my Fidelity Investments advisor, "We split the commission, or there is no deal." He took it. The policy he sold ended up being quite decent—though I’d already done my homework on that part.

Listen, I graduated with an engineering degree myself, and I understand finance better than most economists.😠 😁

What matters is how fast you can grasp concepts and abstract data. Your major doesn't define your performance.

I couldn't care less if the guy makes a buck, as long as I'm saving money.
briskfalcon15 said:... information is incredibly easy to access these days

Hardly. Maybe the US market is transparent enough, but I recently looked for new car insurance in Switzerland. I checked with my current provider, then asked another one I thought was cheap. The quotes were identical. Then I hit a website that functions just like a "financial advisor," and lo and behold, I got a much better deal. It listed about ten different companies—I could barely name three or four off the top of my head—and while it wasn't every insurer out there, it saved me money with zero effort. If I had searched systematically, I might have done better, but I feel like I would have wasted half a day for an uncertain result.

Melissa Cruz2 said:Picture this: you're stuck in the wilderness, miles from civilization, armed with nothing but a knife and some matches. To your right, there's the ocean full of fish. Ahead of you lies an orchard, and nearby, there's a Cow or maybe a little lamb (Jesus, help us!). You can eat or cook any one of those three, but you have to hunt, gather, or kill it yourself. What's your pick?

This "pick one" rule is rigged. Fish for an appetizer, lamb for the main course, and fruit—or cheese, since the Cow is right there—for dessert.
Melissa Cruz2 said:I'm genuinely curious how anyone expects to take down a Cow with just a pocketknife. She'd just stand there waiting for you to try and find a vein.🙂

If a Cow saw me coming at her with a knife, she’d probably die of fright. Or laughter. Doesn't matter. She's still ending up on the grill.🙂

What does any of this have to do with health? Mental health, perhaps?

On topic: I'd eat anything in sight right now.

Detox bath: Does it actually work? in Health ·
The perfect remedy for people with a hole in their wallets 👍
Check with a local pharmacy to see if they have any topical creams available. Otherwise, cold compresses—like an ice pack wrapped in a towel—should help with the swelling.
I support the new law, purely for pragmatic reasons. How many people actually sit around contemplating their own death and deciding what happens to their organs, their body, or what kind of funeral they want? Barely anyone. Waiting for individuals to wake up to these questions would mean sacrificing far too many patients. That isn't responsible. Human life has to come first.
Disc decompression surgery/treatment in Health ·
darkhawk14 said:Could the surgeon have pushed the disc to the left during surgery, causing it to press against the nerve now?

Exactly.

😕

Unlikely. However, when I was weighing my options before surgery, the talk was always about spinal instability following such procedures—until the entire segment eventually fuses. That usually applies to more extensive surgeries. Perhaps that’s what happened here. Your axial stability isn't quite the same as it was pre-op, so maybe some movement in the vertebrae is putting pressure on that left nerve. Regardless, you need a neurological exam first to check motor skills, sensation, and reflexes. Then, if necessary, get a CT scan.
Emergency: My friend is pregnant in Health ·
Check if there's any way to get medical abortion pills—I think the name is RU486. It’s a much less traumatic experience than a surgical procedure. If she can't go that route, she should at least look into doing it under anesthesia, assuming she can scrape the money together.

Nothing beats a cold beer under a massive shade tree... *burp* 😬 I picked up an entire selection of German imports... barley beers... dark malts... classic Lagers... even some organic brews... enough to have one bottle every single night... ahhh...

As for food: Gazpacho 👍 chilled tomato soup, add some Tabasco if you feel like it... *slurp*

Usually, after working out, I'll down a liter of an isotonic drink, mostly just because I like the taste. It reminds me of Gatorade—kind of synthetic 🙂
Dealing with an emotional manipulator in Psychology ·
It’s common to see people who excel in certain areas while being completely deficient in others.

Emotional and abstract intelligence are entirely separate faculties. However, one can use abstract reasoning to mimic emotional intelligence to an extent by simply analyzing a situation and performing the expected social script. This allows for manipulation even in the absence of genuine empathy. For instance, someone might simply recite a comforting phrase without actually feeling any connection to the person suffering.

Based on how this individual treats his own children, I would conclude he lacks access to his own emotions. There are people—often men—who experience physical symptoms like a knot in their stomach or sweaty palms, yet remain entirely unaware that they are actually feeling fear. Perhaps this is a mild form of autism. Or perhaps he is merely shielding himself from the inevitable pain of a breakup, given his track record with women and his general disposition.
