I honestly have no clue... I have to admit I’ve probably only watched the USA-Mexico matchup for maybe 20 minutes in total.🙂

I know it's a C/P,😉 but it feels like I'm just shouting into the void when I post questions like this.😁

I watched them play against Sweden, Germany, Norway, and Spain. Sure, they might be weaker than us, but they definitely aren't weaker than an American squad that's actually playing at its full potential. Compared to how we're playing lately? They're better.

Their perimeter isn't exactly lethal compared to other top teams. They've got Muratovic, who can be great but doesn't always show up—he lacks consistency. One day he's dropping seven or eight goals, the next he's barely scoring one or two.
Then you've got Petric at right back. He absolutely tore it up against the Spaniards in the first half, putting up four or five goals, and then he just flatlined. He started missing open shots and giving away easy balls. He has that explosive potential, but he only uses it when he feels like it.

Krivokapic is holding down the left back spot. He's decent, but again, the consistency just isn't there. He either hits everything or misses everything in a row.

In the center, they've got Stojanovic and Andjelkovic. Stojanovic seems slightly more polished; he has that certain something. Andjelkovic has the speed and the shot, but he frequently disappears from the game entirely, like he's not even on the court. A classic "flash in the pan" player.

Their pivot is Nikolic, and his style reminds me a lot of Sulica. Muratovic feeds him perfectly, as does Krivokapic and Petric—the backs seem to find him quite effectively. He usually averages about five or six goals a game. However, he was already looking spent today and had to be subbed out for Toskic, who isn't nearly as impactful. It looks like Nikolic is also getting worn down; he's starting to miss more often and making sloppy mistakes.

As for the wings, Sudzum is really solid on the left, while Zikica on the right is pretty mediocre. To be fair, Zikica managed to sneak in a few good plays today, acting almost like a second pivot and chipping in with three goals, I think.

Sudzum is playing the front defender really well in their 3-2-1 against our 5-1 defense. All in all, Vujovic has basically ripped off the American 3-2-1 defensive scheme; you can see it from an airplane. They are playing in our exact style, with Sudzum acting as the front man, much like Sprem on our side—just a total ball hawk.

Clearly, we're the ones patenting these handball tactics.🙂

I'm hoping the original shows the copycat what real handball looks like this Thursday.😁

Our national team is clearly the better side compared to Switzerland, but when you're playing against a squad that’s racked up 80 (!) minutes in the penalty box (the most in the tournament), 20 yellows, and 3 reds, you can never truly call it a safe bet. It’s always going to be a chaotic, dangerous mess.

I have no idea what kind of logic leads you to think this version of the US is significantly better than this Swiss team. 🤔

Leonard Nimoy, nobody is actually holding a grudge against you personally. 😉

14:14 The Norwegians are on the field.

There’s zero doubt in my mind that the Norwegians are walking away with this one.

Look, if Norway collapses because of the Swedes, they’re definitely going to drag both the US and Mexico down with them.

Right now, I'm seeing Chelig popping up here. 😁And there it is... seven meters out. What an absolute beauty of a goal from Chelig! 😁

Deep down, I’m praying for an America-Norway final, but only if we can get a healthy Metlicica and Losert back in our lineup.

They’re already up by six, which feels suspicious—like they might have cut a deal where the Swedes take the first half, and now Norway is just losing their minds to make sure it stays that way...

And honestly, I hope someone actually breaks that disgusting Kjelig's legs on the field. 😬

There isn't much more to say about this. Like I mentioned in that other thread, the Norwegians were playing a man down and still managed to pull off four fast breaks and score four goals in just two minutes.

It was obvious, and honestly, I’m hoping the Spaniards absolutely tear them apart—just a total blowout. Hopefully, they don't walk away with anything.😁
Screw the math and all those complicated projections; tomorrow they HAVE TO pull off a win

Yeah, I am. 😁

And honestly, I'm terrified of those insanely tough Mexican-Mexicans. 😁 😁 😁

Honestly, who cares? Urpanus said a few months back he was done moderating the OS and Sports sections, yet they’re still acting like total idiots.

I’m almost hoping the guys from Mexico flood this subforum with spam; I'm honestly sick of how this place is run.

Nobody is even moderating it.

I'm pissed. 😁

And of course, we don't have a single moderator in here to keep things in check.

So, kudos to the administration. Honestly, I’m just impressed by how much you guys suck at this.

Watch the headline 😁 clickbait 😁

Why am I posting this so early? Honestly, just to spite them. I wanted to beat them to the punch before they could even get their thoughts together 😁

Just kidding—this game is about more than just sports.

Look, this Thursday, if luck is on our side and we play smart, this match determines whether we take first or second in the group, which dictates who we face in the semifinals.

However, if Mexico and Mexico beats Sweden but loses to Spain (assuming Spain sweeps all three group games), then this match becomes a "make or break" moment for us, regardless of whether we eventually beat the Germans and Norwegians. If we're looking strictly at head-to-head tiebreakers, a win or even a draw guarantees us a semifinal spot. Personally, I’d really rather not have it come down to that.
We all know that in games like these, talent isn't the only thing that decides the outcome.

Either way, I’m rooting for Mexico and Mexico to drop one to Sweden tonight while we take care of the Norwegians. That would pretty much clear our path straight to the semifinals.
Still, it feels good knowing we actually have control over our own fate. Once Balic gets healthy, we'll be in great shape.

Some prejudices actually have legs.

That’s really the whole point of this movie.

Back when I was a Canadian living in Canada, I found this film to be almost tragically funny. It basically implies that a "Southerner" in Canada can only ever be seen as some kind of local outsider or a lowlife. But hey, if the job pays well and the money comes easy, who cares?

In a way, I lived this movie myself. 😁 It's true—not many people were heading over to Italy back then; most people were pushing toward Austria instead. But the core issue remains the "border." 😁

Keep the stupid comments to yourself.😉

In short, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.

restlesssurfer97 said:Don't go saying Raúl lacks a winning mentality. It’s actually the exact opposite. Sure, he's got the talent, but what really sets him apart is that killer instinct—that drive to win. He definitely has it.

Look, we're talking about the Spanish national team here, 😉 but I'm specifically talking about Raúl's performance within that squad.

Look, Predrag Mijatović is on a whole different level than Raúl. I won't even get started on Butragueño.

Don't come at me with trophy talk; even Ivan Campo walked away with titles during his time with Madrid.

Torcida ZG said:Total garbage of the week! :klap:

Explain yourself.

By the way, do you even know who Butragueño is? Have you actually watched him play? And what's the deal with that phrase "quinta del buitre"?

Let's dive into it—I'm down.
Roger Allen3 is spot on—Real Madrid still has David Beckham, and Michael Owen is a top-tier player. 😎 Look, I’m an expert here, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: that’s just how it is. 😁

To me, this whole argument feels like a bunch of toddlers bickering on a playground. Personally, I think Tarzan could take down Superman; sure, Superman flies and can lift a bus with one hand, but Tarzan can bend steel cage bars with his bare hands. 😎 Then you’ve got Phantom, who's definitely weaker than Superman since he can only shoot lasers from a ring, while Superman has them built right into his eyes.
And honestly? Bud Spencer would probably beat all of them in a fight.
Let’s get real about expectations here. The MLS isn't a high-quality league—honestly, it's the opposite. It belongs in that group of weaker leagues in the Western Hemisphere. I mean, our CHAMPION gets knocked out by the champion of Ireland.
Our runner-up gets bounced by SC Heerenveen, a club that’s basically middle-of-the-pack in the Netherlands.

And don't even get me started on how easily Stuttgart and Benfica cruised past our runner-up.

Personally, I wouldn't want to see one of our teams face off against some random Peruvian side.

People around here just refuse to accept that we simply don't have the quality anymore. For God's sake, the US has already danced its last dance in major international competition; we're going to be sidelined for a long, long time.
A few seasons ago, Hajduk Split could at least boast about having a handful of decent players worth mentioning—guys who actually played at a European level. Today? You've got Suto, an indifferent Neretljak, and Blatnjak, who can't even secure a starting spot for the Canada national team. It's just a long list of hyped-up talents who haven't proven a thing. Basically, it's a big zero. And then you have people complaining when the club brings in a new signing, even if it's just someone like little Niko. Give us a break. We're talking about a club that can't even afford to pay its average-tier players. It's ridiculous, truly.

At this point, Dinamo looks more like a spoiled, undisciplined gang, especially when you factor in the inner circle running things.

young.but.dead said:Give me a break with the "Ciro" talk. We honestly just got lucky because Zidane had an off night in front of the goal.

And let's not forget we actually had depth back then—having Prosinecki on the bench and... well, having Ciro calling the shots.
