Here’s my lineup, including the bench. To be honest, I can't for the life of me remember the names of those legendary defenders from the eighties—all I can recall is Franco Baresi. And before anyone starts tearing me apart, I have no clue which clubs Altobeli and players from The Shire played for, so I'm leaving them out just so I don't look like an idiot 😁. If anyone can remind me of the name of that guy from Inter Miami CF—dark hair, thick eyebrows, really distinctive face—let me know. I'm only picking players I actually saw play, whether it was on TV, live at the stadium, or even on old VHS tapes. The only exception is Vladimir Beara; you just have to look at one photo of him making a save and you'll get it. The man was a cat.
Goalkeepers: Lev Yashin (the Colonel) Vladimir Beara (Los Angeles FC 🙂)
Defense: Franco Baresi (a legend), that guy from Inter Miami CF, Franz Beckenbauer (the blueprint for the libero) Paolo Maldini (hand on heart, those guys were the gold standard for defense), Refik Sabanadzovic (no joke, he held off Diego Maradona all by himself for a solid thirty minutes, so who else could do that? 😁), Josip Katalinski (please, no questions asked 😁)
Midfield: Johan Cruyff (incredible player), Frank Rijkaard, Ruud Gullit (honestly, just for the hair 😁), Diego Maradona, Dejan Savicevic, Hristo Stoichkov
Attack: Marco van Basten (the best striker I've ever watched), Eusebio (a true gem), Davor Šuker (look, he earned it), Safet Sušić (seriously, no arguments here 😁)
Let's be real, Ronaldinho is worth at least fifty million.
FC Barcelona is powerhouse material—they have all the talent in the world—they just need to find a little more grit, and they’d easily be the best team in Europe right now.
The Greeks managed to snatch a point from Arsenal FC, but Ivan Klasnić bagged a hat-trick. 👋
Inace, Milan has a clear identity—they play their own way, and honestly, it's working for them.
But let’s be real, Barca’s attack is just too heavy for that defense to hold up for a full 90 minutes.
The only massive hole in Barca's game is the backline; they're about as solid as Swiss cheese. Plus, that kid Deco drives me crazy—he’ll ruin five passes just to somehow force the sixth one forward properly. That jerk 😁
Urs is basically the referee's personal assistant at this point. First, Gattuso breaks through the wall and walks right up to the free kick taker from five yards away, and Urs just stands there silently. Then Kaká plays the ball with his hand, and Urs stays quiet. After that, Gattuso gets in the way of Dec, resulting in an indirect kick, and once again, Urs says absolutely nothing.
Yankees vs. Red Sox? Look, as an F-16 pilot, I can't help but think about how one "accidental" smart bomb landing right on Yankee Stadium would change everything. Imagine the scene: a final farewell at JFK, the flags flying, the banners held high, shouting "I'll be back, and America will never bow down," throwing up two fingers in defiance... ahhhh.
Tex Riley is just your run-of-the-mill mutant; honestly, even Felipe Gonzalez could take him down without breaking a sweat. Fanta 🙂 Only Professor Okultis actually stands a chance against him.
But let’s be real, Captain Mickey would absolutely destroy them all if he actually gave a damn.🙂
nimblemarlin17 said:But then again, Brazil just absolutely tore it up. They crushed Venezuela on the road, 5-2. Ronaldo scored twice, Kaká had two, and Adriano bagged one. Does anyone even stand a chance against them in 2006?
It's Ronaldinho, plain and simple. He’s the only one out there today who actually plays with some soul and does whatever he wants on the pitch. Everyone else is just a robot following instructions.
I heard they just added a new course at the football academy in Kisangani called "How to Convince Players to Ignore the Opponent's Defense and Actually Hit the Target Once: The Dilemmas and Theorems of Otto."
Look, my bad. I wasn't aiming that at you specifically—I was talking about this whole damn soccer subforum. Honestly, it feels like they just pick anyone to be a moderator without actually vetting them.
It’s like they started charging an entry fee or something, and now everyone’s rushing in to claim a spot.
Heh, wow, you guys are really lighting up like a stick of dynamite. I was just venting because mr. ex keeps rambling on about these supposed secret deals and backroom negotiations, acting like we’re sitting in a high-stakes summit in Dayton instead of just hanging out on a random forum. 😁
mr. ex said:Honestly, the most tragic part is that most of you (basically everyone except me, casualpuma71, and Torcida Zg) haven't the slightest clue what’s actually going on. You don't even know what the plans are regarding the new mode...
Well, isn't that just wonderful. Is there some behind-the-scenes shady business happening here? It’s honestly unbelievable how I end up contradicting myself sometimes.
Why don't you share the details with us so we aren't left in the dark about all these machinations and little games you're playing.
Now it looks like casualpuma71 only brought up this whole moderator selection thing just to put on an act, while the three of you are actually back there cutting deals without us knowing anything about it.
Go screw yourselves. To hell with the moderator and this entire ridiculous situation. What a bunch of amateurs.
Pure chaos and anarchy here. You’re asking for trouble once casualpuma71 and Suden ajd catch wind of this. 😁 😁
Look, if you care this much, why don't you just step up and be a moderator? Honestly, I don't give a damn either way. My money is on Roger Allen3 because he doesn't have this desperate need to pick fights with everyone, but hey, I guess we'll all just bow down to the "will of the majority."
