It’s a brutal cycle, both mentally and physically. He’s already been hospitalized back home twice now. Every single time, the doctors warned him straight up: if he keeps drinking, it could be the end of the line. But, you know how it goes—he just won't listen. The first time he was admitted, it was for liver issues, and the second time was for psychiatric care. And look, it’s not like what people see in movies where they’re strapped to a bed or anything. They can basically wander off whenever they feel like it, and there’s a convenience store right across the street that sells booze. He probably ended up grabbing a drink there, too.
Right now, he’s in Washington, D.C., staying at Vineyard, and even there, you can pretty much leave the hospital grounds whenever you want, which means easy access to alcohol.

Does anyone here have experience dealing with alcoholism? Maybe someone who has gone through this with a family member? Is it actually possible to recover?

I don't know😕
I really don't feel like dealing with all this again😁
One less thing to worry about, I guess

So, how does one actually catch herpes? I’ve been with my girlfriend for quite a while now—haven't exactly been out there playing the field. This thing just won't seem to clear up completely, and honestly, I'm getting pretty worried about it.

So, what does this herpes thing actually look like?
I noticed this little bump on my junk. At first, I just figured it was some annoying acne, but since it didn't clear up after a day or two, now I'm totally lost. It’s... okay, I guess. It hasn't fully disappeared yet, but at least it doesn't hurt like crazy when I'm having sex anymore.
Do you think I have herpes?

Man, I would give anything to catch an Arsenal vs Manchester match in person
and honestly, I’d love to see the Los Angeles Lakers play live too

Sports is what gets people moving.
For me, it’s been the ultimate excuse to pack a bag and head out to places I probably wouldn't have visited otherwise:
I was in Paris back for the World Cup 1998, catching the semifinal against the home team.
Then there was that trip to Slovakia—specifically Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, if I remember correctly—for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in '99.
I even made it to London, traveling with the Indianapolis crowd for an Indianapolis vs West Ham United match.
Last year, I headed over to Budapest to catch some water polo.
And I was in Belgrade last year to see Real Madrid play in the Champions League.

I guess the Boys and the fans have basically trekked through half of Europe at this point.
So, where has sports taken you guys?

Well, the jerk has that too, nobody’s denying it.
The guy's got a monster driver and a monster dentist...
But hey, for something this human, I guess I'll take the risk.

I honestly can't remember which island poll actually crowned Blur's "no more distance left to run" as the saddest song ever!
Does anyone else happen to recall that?
So, I’m reading through this thread and I’m starting to think I’m actually the only one here who even carries a donor card! Seriously, have some shame, you people and your pathetic excuses.👎
I actually picked mine up and signed everything right at a trade show where an American donor network had a booth set up. And honestly, if you’re really looking to get a card, I bet any hospital would point you toward the right office. You could probably just look it up online, too.
Another thing: I get the skepticism, really. There are definitely some butcher-style doctors out there making a killing off terrible situations, but they aren't everyone. Plus, I think most doctors still take some kind of oath where they swear to protect patient rights. You have to trust people sometimes! 🙂
I’m not sure if this topic has been brought up before, but here goes. I’ve been on the donor registry for two years now, and honestly, I’m all for it—it’s a noble cause and literally saves lives. But I came across some info suggesting that donor numbers in the US aren't actually that high. It makes me wonder, though... are people just talking a big game and then looking the other way when it actually comes down to something real? Or maybe they just don't follow through?
What’s your general take on this?

They’re actually killer!
Especially that "Life Begins at 30" album.
I am feeling soooooo good right now.
Down in Indianapolis, they were charging $6.75 just to get into this (absolutely insane) concert! Yippee!

Honestly, this movie is just stupid and feels like it has zero plot. It’s bad. I really expected way more from my favorite director, I guess. I think most people would agree that he's made much better films throughout his career.
