I honestly start seeing stars whenever I have to get blood drawn. My head starts spinning, the pain is intense, and I end up feeling like I’m about to pass out... the only thing keeping me grounded is knowing I’m actually at the doctor's office, hoping they'll step in if things go south. Vaccinations are even worse for me.
I had a nasty bout of the flu about six or seven years ago, and I've been getting my shots every single year since then... Last year, I ended up catching some pretty miserable viruses.
Doing Muay Thai three times a week and hitting the pool once... that’s about it. I don't really run because I can never find the time. Plus, I'm out there training my Dobermans, so I guess that counts as a workout too😁 Maybe I'll squeeze in another session soon since I'm kind of obsessed with training. I'm watching what I eat, taking some vitamins and magnesium supplements. And, of course, plenty of blackberry wine.

Man... tell me about it. I’ve literally turned the Ford around on the way home just because I had this sudden panic that I forgot to lock the door and the dog would somehow jump up and let himself out. Plus, I’m constantly obsessing over whether the iron is off or if the stove is still on after making my morning coffee... 😲
Where do we actually draw the line between being careful and having an actual disorder?
Linda Peterson said:Seriously, Melissa Cruz2, you're just overcomplicating things now...😁😁
You clearly don't get it. You walk into a Tai Chi studio and suddenly you're all about tolerance and peace...☕ then once you actually put on the gear, it's like you develop superpowers...😁
😉
then you can basically fly through the air like some movie stuntman...🎉
Zero tolerance. That’s exactly why the girls can't ever really get into the vibe... there aren't any kimonos, incense, lotus flowers, or even decent walls... I mean, seriously, you can't just show up to a Tai Chi session in some sweaty gym sweats and a tank top. It’s like trying to run a marathon in your slippers while sitting in your living room... Ladies, please....😲
Alright, I’m back to mess with you all again. I’ll just say this with a massive amount of theatrical, pathetic drama: every single traditional Tai Chi master is probably spinning in their grave right now knowing this beautiful art has been watered down into those tacky, Americanized weekend crash courses for beginners. Tai Chi workshop 👏
Anyway, does anyone know if I can pick up a kimono 🙂 like the one in the photo at that link? They’re all honestly gorgeous... I really want one. 😍
Good grief, some people just love being difficult. I already said the whole vibe was off.
Honestly, just go sign up for a weekend Tai Chi class and leave me alone. The OP is probably super upset since you guys are totally killing her thread 👋
I have nothing but respect for Eastern traditions, but honestly, the vibe at that club was just... off. I’d actually planned a whole trip out specifically dressed in my kimono and slippers, then I walked in and was completely caught off guard. It's totally subjective, obviously, but enough to make me call it quits...
Anyway, getting back to the point, Tai Chi felt a little too static for my taste. I think I definitely vibe better with more active sports...
Whether I actually want to train in a gi or not is really just a personal call for me. To me, wearing the gi gives you the full picture of what you're doing. It’s like how everyone shows up in full gear for Karate, but over at the boxing gym, it's all about those boxing trunks...
So, I actually went there intending to try out some Tai Chi... but the vibe at the studio was just completely off. It was nothing but these intense-looking guys with dreadlocks and beards everywhere, looking more like they were part of some weird cult than a fitness class. And honestly? Not a single person was even wearing a traditional gi, which is pretty much a non-negotiable for me... I basically made a run for it. 😁

It’s true, though. People here were basically raised to kiss the ass of anyone with a title, whether it’s a doctor, a cop, or a teacher. My aunt used to work in high-level childcare, a pretty big deal in her field. She tells me the parents she absolutely loathed were the ones who would slip her a hundred bucks just to make sure they looked after their kid a little more than the one in the next crib over...
We really need to weed this kind of behavior out of the culture...

Meanwhile, I'm just wondering if I can whip up a killer protein shake and just toss in some chocolate and sweets for good measure, huh?😁
