Hey, Betty Rivera14, maybe you should ditch the mozzarella 😢 hot dogs. And honestly, I might have let things slide a little lately... 😁
It’s not like I have tons to lose—I’m pretty careful about what I eat—but clearly something is off. Despite running and keeping my diet fairly tight, I've actually put on a few pounds. 😢 Life’s just been a lot right now. I've been under massive amounts of stress for about two years straight.
Rachel Brooks63 said:Melissa Cruz2, doctors almost never jump straight to a diet or start worrying just because of a single cholesterol reading. Those numbers fluctuate like crazy... if you snacked on a handful of peanuts the night before your blood draw, you could easily trigger a fake spike. Try getting your blood checked again in a little while—don't go making massive lifestyle changes yet, just make sure you don't overdo it the day before—and if your LDL is still high then, maybe consider a diet.
And honestly, the stress from being told your cholesterol is high is a health issue in itself... 😉
My LDL has been creeping up year after year, so we've been monitoring it closely for about three months now. I'm actually going to try tweaking my diet for the first time to see what happens. If things don't improve... well, then it's statins and everything else...
So, you're saying if I switch back to a clean diet, my cholesterol levels might actually drop in just a week? Okay... I had bloodwork done yesterday, so I'm planning to stick to the diet starting next week and then head back to the lab for another round. Thanks for the tip, Sarah Gomez52!!!
But if stress is the actual culprit here, I'm pretty much screwed, right? Like, how am I supposed to "fix" whatever is causing the stress? That sounds... complicated... Should I be looking into supplements, herbal teas, or anything like that?
My diet? Breakfast is just watermelon, lunch is usually some soup and a mozzarella salad, then dinner is either cottage cheese or light yogurt instead of sour cream. Breakfast and lunch stay pretty much the same every single day, but dinners vary... chicken, hot dogs, maybe a pancake, tuna, salads... the occasional sweet treat... though I honestly don't see how any of that pushed my cholesterol up to 6.2. I work out quite a bit, too.
If stress is the culprit... that sounds exactly like me. Sarah Gomez52, give me a little hint about this "plant-based" diet, please...
I’m not even sure a place called Small town in rural area actually exists. There’s the main Small town in rural area, Zlatar, Lipovec, and a few other spots... but I don't think there's a "lower" version of it.😁 So, basically, I'm definitely not from any part of Small town in rural area.🙂
I’m heading in tomorrow to get my official labs done, though my doctor already gave me a heads-up over the phone that the numbers are looking high. I'm at 6.2 in my third month, compared to 5.8 last year... so yeah, I'm definitely a bit worried about what's actually growing in there. Just want to see where things really stand. Next week I've got my T3 and T4 levels checked too. What does being "on the grass" actually mean in this context?
Picture this: you’re stuck out in the middle of nowhere, miles from civilization, with nothing but a knife and some matches... just your luck. To your right, there’s the ocean full of fish. Ahead of you, a flat orchard, and somewhere nearby, there's either a Cow or maybe a little lamb (Jesus, help me!). You get one shot at it—you can eat or cook one of those three options, but you have to hunt, gather, or kill it yourself. What’s your move? _______________________________________________
I’m genuinely curious though... how exactly are we supposed to take down a Cow with just a pocketknife? It’d probably just stand there waiting for you to try and nick its jugular.🙂

Meanwhile, my mom just dropped three turkeys on me because she knows my freezer is usually empty, and now nobody wants them. Now they're just sitting there, I have zero room to stash any ice cream, and honestly... I'm just over it. 😢

hehe, I was actually just about to bring up that "cinematic" moment...😱
Amy Martinez5 said:Does anyone else get those weird heart palpitations? Like, out of nowhere, nothing triggers it, but it just skips or thumps two or three times really hard...😕 The doctor checked me out and said my heart is fine, blood pressure is fine, thyroid is fine. Everything. But the labs show my white blood cell count is low... It’s starting to freak me out a little. I’ve never heard of anyone experiencing this kind of fluttering in their chest... Has this happened to anyone else? What could even cause this...😕 Good grief, these doctors don't know a damn thing.😢
I used to get hit with arrhythmias constantly, totally out of the blue while just sitting there. All my tests came back perfect. My heart rate stays steady, but I get these intense, heavy thumps in my chest. Usually, my resting heart rate sits around 50 (somewhere between 45 and 55). My blood pressure and body temp tend to run pretty low too.
All that heart stuff completely vanished after I had surgery on my thyroid (cold nodule, though my hormone levels were always normal)
James Newman4 said:When you bring up "tactics," I assume you’re implying there wasn't any strategy involved at all...
\Actually, it was quite the opposite. It was just the tactic of aggressively forcing the Democratic Party's hand, combined with a total lack of the insight or experience needed to know when to pull back. So, go ahead... enjoy the results of all that hard work. Honestly, if you worked for me, I would've let you go by now.
