That’s exactly why I picked that specific wood 🙂 so now the hunt for materials begins. Heading out to the woods later today to cruise around and see if my luck holds up. 🙄
You clearly missed the point. My neighbor is just doing the woodworking; I'm the one handling all the assembly. It’s not like I have any clue how to mill timber, and for heaven's sake, I'm not trying to build a computer case out of a raw log!
And I'm not looking for a pre-made chassis. We're building this thing from scratch—if you had actually read the thread from the start, you'd know that.
LOL, my first neighbor actually happens to be a carpenter with his own shop. But hey, that only works if I can track down a decent carcass from a local rancher, since those guys guard their livestock like it's gold.👎 If my neighbor is up for it, we might actually make something cool out of it.
Hey everyone, I finally tracked down a gorgeous specimen of a rare flowering dogwood. They're pretty hard to come by around here, but if luck is on my side, this tree is going to be the centerpiece of my new backyard shed.
Look, I want a piece of wood that actually looks good. My goal is for the whole thing to look like a single, hand-carved trunk once I'm finished. It’s going to be an absolute grind, but I’m willing to put in whatever work is necessary.
I mean, wouldn't that just look terrible? I built a subwoofer box out of that same material once and had to paint the hell out of it just to hide how cheap it looked. Now imagine a full PC modding build where the whole point is to actually grab people's attention.
So, seriously? After all these posts about PC Modding, nobody can actually give me a straight answer? If we’ve been debating this for ages, why am I still waiting half a day for a simple response to one question.
Honestly, I could probably just build this out of wood... now I'm stuck wondering which type of lumber to use and how thick the panels should be. This is my first attempt at a custom build, so please don't judge me for asking the basics. 🙂
Hey everyone. I’ve mapped out an entire custom case design—every single dimension is drafted and ready. I’m building this thing from scratch (0) lol. Originally, I thought about using plywood, but that idea went down the drain once I realized how cheap and ugly it would look. Now I'm leaning toward acrylic. The whole build would be transparent, except for a few sections where I’d tint the plastic to hide the cable mess. Does anyone know where I can pick up some quality acrylic near Columbus or maybe around Cincinnati? If not, I might have to swing through Indianapolis or even head up to Chicago since those are my usual routes. Also, any idea what the damage will be on cost? Thanks.
Hey folks, I'm having an issue with my mouse. It's this model. Every single time I click the scroll wheel, the whole thing just freezes up for about 5 seconds before acting normal again. What the hell is going on?????????????????????
