It’s been five days since I messaged mellowraven22 asking to get my handle updated. Still waiting on a response. Hopefully they decide to show up and deal with it soon.
Look, you've had that username for nearly three years now. You can definitely handle a few more days...
Yeah, I realized it just isn't worth it. But like I mentioned earlier, I’d be using a credit card with an installment plan. Online retailers aren't even an option for me since they all demand full payment upfront.
I need a graphics card by $533 that I can actually pick up at a local store and pay for with my card.
Looks matter. I don't really feel like getting into a whole debate about it right now. Look, I’m not some spoiled kid who only cares about aesthetics, but when I’m dropping money on a GPU, the look of the card is part of the decision for me.
I'm going all out on this one, $533 but I'm definitely not willing to overspend on the graphics card.
The power supply is an Antec model, just a 420W version. I can't even unlock the cores because the system gets unstable—it's either this crappy PSU or a garbage motherboard.
Gaming isn't even my main thing; I care way more about how the card actually looks when I pick one. I'm looking for a GPU in the $500 range, not the $433 bracket. Since I’m willing to stretch my budget a little, would this specific card handle everything a heavy user like me needs?
I'm paying with a credit card on an installment plan anyway, so spending a bit extra isn't a huge deal.
Sorry, missed the part about this being a dedicated thread. My bad.
OT: I’ve got a better cooler, a Thermaltake Big Typhoon 120vx. I can't even touch the core multipliers on this pathetic motherboard. I bought this CPU specifically to unlock the cores and overclock, but I totally botched it by picking such a cheap board. A new motherboard is my next move. Also, I'm borrowing a PSU from a buddy, so I don't need one yet. Besides, if my current one handles the 4850, it should be fine for a 6850 too.
The plan is to sell my GPU and current power supply to fund the new motherboard.
Originally, I was looking at grabbing an HD6850, but strictly from Gigabyte because of that dual-slot design.
Hey everyone. I'm looking to pick up a new GPU in the next few days because my current one just isn't cutting it anymore. Any suggestions on what gives the best bang for my buck? My budget is capped at $500
haha, what are you guys even talking about... you're losing it. You're just trying to scare people. What kind of example is that? Check my previous posts if you need proof—my PC Modding project where I spray-painted the entire chassis matte black, inside and out. First, you just give the case a deep clean and let it dry completely. After that, it’s easy... grab some matte black silicone spray ($9.25) and just hit it. That's it. All this talk about complex painting is nonsense because my case looks exactly the same as when I first did it.
Here’s the build: an AMD Ryzen 5 5500 3.2, a Radeon HD 4850, and two drives—that's the core of it! The power supply is coming from a buddy, so I'm 100% sure it's solid, and he's letting me have it for $100... I know my setup doesn't really need more than 300W, but you don't just walk away from a deal like this!
Way to go, James Morris4!!! I saw a site just like that at a shop near my place for $33!! Basically, I'll just grab it, toss it in, and handle the PC Modding myself 🤷
Man, I need a keyboard with backlit keys—preferably blue. I’m not gonna get into specific prices because who knows what they're charging these days, so just find me the best budget option out there. XD Honestly, I don't care which shop it is, as long as it's somewhere near Austin or Dallas.
