What if I just reroute my pay to a different account?
I don't have anything left in my own name, so I could just deposit whatever I want into my own account every month and let them take what they want from there. Is that actually doable?
Here’s the deal.. I just got hit with a garnishment notice from Diners Club, and yeah, I guess I actually owe them. It’s not a massive amount, but they're demanding the whole thing upfront. So, I sent them a formal objection, basically admitting I’m the debtor but asking if they'd let me settle this through an installment plan instead of one lump sum.
Well, the conclusion just arrived in my mail today. But honestly, don't take what it says at face value.
The reasoning part says something like this..
Based on the proposal from American Express New York City and according to verified documentation, the notary issued enforcement decision no. Ovrv. xxx-xx on date x.xx.xxxx. Regarding this decision, the debtor filed an objection; however, that objection does not invalidate the decision in the part where they are ordered to satisfy the creditor's claim. This means the debtor acknowledges the debt to the creditor in the requested amount of xxxxUSD plus interest, but disputes the decision regarding how the enforcement is carried out. Since the debtor confirms their debt to the creditor, it has been decided as stated in the conclusion, pursuant to article xx section stxx of the xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx enforcement law.
Look, I’ve got the VTX 7870, and honestly? It runs everything I need without breaking a sweat. Even with just a single fan on it, temps stay totally fine. I’m happy with it.😁
So, that's the motherboard I'm going with then.. I already ordered the power supply, so it should be arriving this Monday. Still haven't heard back from anyone regarding unlocking those extra two cores, either. Does what I mentioned earlier mean it's actually possible to unlock them?
Alright, I did what you suggested.. Now my system info says the CPU is an Intel Core i3 1GHz I have no idea how long I need to leave it like this to verify if it actually works. I let it run for 5 minutes before switching everything back to the old settings..
Did a little digging and research.. My current setup pulls about 371W at full load And this EVGA power supply you recommended is rated at 450W with a max efficiency of 82%, which brings it down to 369W.. Isn't that cutting it too close? Some tests show it hitting 408W, so if I overclock the GPU and CPU just a bit or add another hard drive, we're talking way too little headroom.
That’s exactly what I was asking him... I already told him he could unlock it, so now he's obsessing over everything and hunting for a new power supply because he thinks mine is too weak. Basically, if he wants to go down the unlocking route, he's going to need a new motherboard. Any recommendations for a board that actually holds up?
So, I was reading up on this and apparently this motherboard isn't really built for overclocking a CPU that pulls more than 95W, if I've got that right. My chip sits at 80W, so unless I'm totally off base, there should be just enough headroom left to push the clock speeds a bit.
There you go... that option was hidden from me. So, what you're saying is this motherboard isn't great for overclocking? I just bumped my CPU from 3.3 to 3.5, but I'm going to push it even further tomorrow once I pick up a new power supply.
This board doesn't even have overclocking settings in the BIOS; all it does is unlock the CPU... So, yeah, I'm definitely looking at buying a new motherboard.
And let me know if they don't have any more or can't get their hands on them. Just a heads up, the processor will be unlocked to 4 cores and the GPU is going to be overclocked..
What’s the cheapest PSU that won't crap out on me with this setup? -Gigabyte ga-m68mt-s2 -2x 2gb ddr3 800 -2x 250gb HDD -VTX3D Radeon hd7870 -AMD x2 560
What's a fair asking price for this setup? Looking for an estimate because a buddy wants to take the whole lot off my hands. I'm moving to a laptop soon, so there's no point in keeping this desktop lying around.
I can't unlock the processor because my motherboard and power supply are total junk... I'll probably just grab an HD 7870 for now, then save up for a new board and PSU later so I can actually unlock it..
Timothy Kim60 said:+1 for the 7850. Anything weaker isn't worth the money. It’s basically in the same ballpark as an Nvidia gtx 650Ti boost or an ATI 7790
What's your budget? And what kind of CPU are we talking about? You might be able to swing something better if you have the hardware to back it up.
I’d probably head over to $667 if there was actually something decent available... My setup is a Core 2 Duo E5600 and 4GB of DDR3 RAM.
I'm looking for a decent replacement for my HD 6870, which pretty much kicked the bucket yesterday.. Which model would actually be an upgrade rather than just a step down?
