Daniel Gomez10 said:Your primary care doctor can prescribe antidepressants all on their own.
The standard max dose is usually 45mg, but doctors can definitely go higher if they need to.
I've heard that in some parts of Europe, they actually go up to 90mg a day.
quietwalker5 said:Hi everyone,
I was at the Emergency Room at Mercy Hospital today and they discontinued the Luxet. I was prescribed Effexor XR instead.
Hoping for some improvement.
Thanks to fadedbear92, Kevin Nguyen3, Jason Vaughn482, and the rest of you. 🙂
quietwalker5 said:No... she did that in collaboration with her therapist, who provided the instructions while out on vacation.
quietwalker5 said:The 50mg dosage is typically used for depression. I have an appointment with my primary care physician tomorrow to discuss next steps... thank you for the concern.
The most difficult part is this intense physical weakness... it hits during periods of nervousness or anxiety... along with full-body tremors and shaking hands...
Kevin Nguyen3 said:Oh, stop drooling over her... That isn't Toxic, that's just me...🤣
quietwalker5 said:Just 50mg. I am taking Luxet.
quietwalker5 said:It has been exactly one month and four days now. Last night, after taking my dose, I felt exhausted, sleep-deprived, irritable, and depressed. After consulting with my doctor, we decided to switch my dosage to the morning.
Now, on the sixth day of the morning schedule, I am feeling tense, anxious, shaky, and weak. My doctor claims this isn't related to changing the timing of the dose.?!?
What is going on? Is this just the adjustment phase?
quietwalker5 said:I am. I just took 4mg of Lexapro. Perhaps it will help. Like a cloudy day, sometimes it is hard to define exactly what I am feeling.
quietwalker5 said:It feels like I can't catch my breath. It's shallow... like I am constantly holding my breath.
🤷
quietwalker5 said:Understood. Thank you. Is it typical to experience tremors and weakness, along with shortness of breath?
quietwalker5 said:Day 17 on 50mg Lexapro. The anxiety is hitting hard. The Norsk Nordica 4mg isn't cutting it... should I try Xanax instead?
restlesstiger49 said:Well, that could actually mean more people joining us! 👋 It’s a good thing—more personas means a wider variety of topics and perspectives to dive into. And honestly, don't let social anxiety get the best of you. I'm not exactly the type to jump blindly into a crowd of strangers myself, but it really helps when you feel like you're "among your own people," if you know what I mean. Plus, like Blueberry said, just come as you are. Nobody is going to judge you here. Looking back at some of the nonsense I've posted (and still post!) in this section of the forum, there's certainly no reason to be too embarrassed to step out of the house 🤣. I'm sick of nothing but rain. This summer sucks 😢
Stop messing around and get over here.
Roger Bennett62 said:So, I’m stopping the Lexapro on August 3rd, though honestly, I’m not even sure why. I feel pretty good—had a little stomach trouble for a couple of days, but nothing crazy. It’s been an okay process, really. I’ve bounced around different antidepressants for years, but now it just feels like I don't need them anymore. I don't feel bad, no withdrawal stuff hitting me, but I still feel this weird sense of responsibility, you know? Like, I don't want to mess things up because people can get into trouble when they decide to go rogue on their own meds... It’s already been 15 days and I’m feeling great. Just stuck wondering if I should keep going or just call it quits with 🙂

Kevin Nguyen3 said:Why all this worrying? We’re all stuck in the same mess... as if it’s any easier for anyone else! I practically have to eat myself alive just to find the nerve to go out somewhere...😁

Does anyone here have much experience dealing with Effexor?
I started taking it about a month ago, and I spent the first two weeks on just one 37.5 mg extended-release tablet, but after about twelve nights of tossing and turning without any sleep, things finally seemed to level out and my body started adjusting over the last few days.
Now that I’ve moved up to two 37.5 mg tablets a day, I’m feeling a bit of mild nausea.
I’m guessing this is just part of the side effects and that it’ll probably pass in time, I suppose.
shadowbear9 said:Can some professional out there explain why nothing seems to touch me besides Sanval? I’ve tried Cerson, absolutely nothing. A higher dose of Prozac? Nothing. A stronger dose of Xanax? Zip. I don't get any sleepiness at all, let alone that blissful, deep sleep I'm looking for... Also, what exactly is the point of taking Eglonyl and Prazosin? Because, honestly, they're a total nightmare unless you plan on attending a zombie festival the next morning. And finally, is it actually a smart move to swap Mirzaten for Amyzol? Right now, thanks to the current meds, I look like I'm in my third trimester.
Thanks

We might have touched on this already—but if you ask me, a low-dose antidepressant paired with an antipsychotic taken at night is the way to go.
In the morning, you feel fine—ready to head into the office—and over time, that intense urge to do something reckless, like suicide, just kind of evaporates.
Now, I know what some people will say... "Are you crazy? An antipsychotic?" But look, small doses won't leave you feeling drugged or groggy during the day; instead, they can really help shift your entire outlook on life.
Just hang in there until the guys get back from their trip to Lake Tahoe, then we can all sit down and talk—there's no other way.
