Let's not get ahead of ourselves—if things are actually looking like they are in this post, then yeah, the weight gain is pretty much inevitable...
Do you have any idea how incredibly hard it is to find the right medication cocktail, so she isn't just going to throw in the towel immediately...🙄

You've got plenty of people offering advice who are dealing with the exact same thing:

Have you changed anything with your diet or activity levels—assuming you even have the energy for that given how you've been feeling lately?

Honestly, I think all of us on TB should be moving twice as much—though personally, I barely move at all🤣—and as for food, stick to lighter meals... more frequent small snacks, lots of water, you know the drill... it's always the same routine...
If nothing changes, definitely talk to your doctor about switching meds; there are plenty of other options out there...

I stopped by the doctor's office the other day to pick up Elice's prescription.

There was a pharmaceutical rep there showing off those exact types of blister packs—one set was orange, the other purple. He was going on about their antidepressant properties and how his company is working hard to get them added to the Medicare formulary; honestly, all that talk about their "efforts" felt suspiciously like they were trying to grease some palms over at the Department of Health and Human Services to push these drugs through.

However, since it’s all just based on indications, I didn't want to make a scene or report anything, especially because I find my doctor to be an incredibly kind and capable person.

Besides, perhaps those purple ones weren't actually purple; I could only see about ten percent of them, so maybe my perception of the color was simply flawed.

And anyway, isn't it common knowledge that many pills and capsules are colored with artificial dyes?

It cracks me up how you sorted them by color instead of names, though... honestly, it's all just business and commerce in the end.👍

Nicole Barrett76 said:I am not entirely certain of their specific names, though I believe there are two recent options that have been cleared by Medicare but haven't quite made it onto the official formulary yet. One comes in orange tablets, while the other is available in purple ones. Since they are approved for sale but aren't covered by Medicare just yet, they are quite expensive, but word is they carry very few side effects.

😂 You've got to be kidding me, right?🤷

First off, you really need a solid psychiatrist who also doubles as a psychotherapist... personally, I think long-term psychoanalysis would be the way to go—it takes time, but the results actually stick. My hunch is that your core issue stems from an unresolved emotional separation from your parents, which is likely when those first signs of anxiety started cropping up.
Once you dive into therapy that actually covers your whole life story, finding those answers will become much easier... wishing you nothing but the best!👍

Are they asking for too much personal information and stuff like that?
I’ve been going back and forth with them over the dosage they have on file. Does anyone know how I can resolve this...
Has anyone else dealing with insomnia run into these kinds of hurdles?

Total idiots—you just got unlucky, either you ran into some jerk or they're just rookies who are too nervous to do their jobs properly...🤷

Even Ambien didn't do a thing for me...

Timothy Wood38 said:Has anyone here actually dealt with Fevarin before? My doctor switched me over to it instead of Lexapro. From what I gather, it’s my first go at an SSRI. Currently sitting at 300 mg a day... just trying to figure out what to expect.

I've actually had really positive results—it started kicking in after just two days. I felt a bit drowsy at first, but that passed, and it works wonders for anxiety too.👍

Timothy Wood38 said:Hey everyone,
It’s been a while since I’ve posted, though I’ve been lurking here and reading everything you all share quite regularly. Things have been a bit rough lately—my psychotic symptoms took a turn for the worse, so my doctor bumped things up. Right now, I’m on a daily regimen of 20 mg Zyprexa, 20 mg Lexapro, 300 mg Wellbutrin XR, 20 mg Ambien, and then some Xanax as needed. The thing is... the Xanax just isn't doing a damn thing for me. Even when I take 3 mg, I feel absolutely zero effect whatsoever. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of resistance? My next check-up isn't until September, so until then, I'm basically left to navigate this mess on my own.

But what exactly are you looking to feel—or what do you think you *should* be feeling? Are you seeing someone privately or using your insurance through Blue Cross? Surely there's some other shrink out there who could give you advice instead of waiting on your current doctor, right? Is there any way you can get a hold of your doctor's cell number?
ruggedfox94 said:Hi everyone... I have a quick favor to ask if anyone here knows the drill—and I’m not sure if there’s already a thread for this... I was wondering if you know which hospital in the Midwest has an MRI machine available? I'm looking for somewhere between my area and Washington, D.C., excluding Indianapolis, Memphis, or St. Louis...
The thing is, St. Louis is fully booked for the rest of the year, and I’m just waiting to hear back from Memphis—I’m on the list, but who knows how long that wait will be—and Indianapolis doesn't even have one...
To be honest, I just don't have the budget for a private clinic...
Thanks so much!!!!

Just give them a call to schedule an appointment...

I was wondering, what kind of reaction should I expect if I have a little bit of alcohol while I'm out at a festival or just hanging out with friends?
I personally struggle with anxiety and panic disorder, and I'm currently taking one pill a day without any other anti-anxiety meds, though I've noticed quite a few of you seem to be combining it with other stuff...

At your own risk...

I honestly wouldn't mess around with any kind of medication—even if it's over-the-counter—without checking in with my doctor first...

Does anyone have a thread for this on the forum?

Daniel Rogers50 said:Yeah, it’s that lovely little road to inner peace where you spend every single day fighting off this constant, soul-crushing lethargy and exhaustion while somehow managing to pack on an extra 65 pounds in just three years.

Are you talking about Adderall? It doesn't hit everyone the same way—some people stay at the same weight, some gain it, and others actually lose it.

Steven Hill3 said:I'm wondering if there are any pills out there that can help calm me down—you know, take the edge off the anxiety and the shakes—but without making me feel totally drowsy or messing with my focus?
Ideally something over-the-counter... but if it's prescription only, I'll just bring it up with my future psychiatrist when I see them.

There isn't really anything like that besides antidepressants, and honestly, you should talk to a shrink about that, not an internet forum.☕

Honestly, I'm terrified that if they drop my dose, I'm just going to lose my damn mind again.🤷

If they little bit reduce it... you won't be able to function—it's just not right...

Honestly, you really need to tell your doctors this—you shouldn't be feeling this drowsy from your meds indefinitely. It’s fine while your body is adjusting, sure, but after that initial phase? Not okay. Either they need to dial back the dosage or switch you to something else entirely.🤷
