Abilify is over 50 years old—and it still works wonders—so that shouldn't really mean anything at all.😉

blacx said:So? I’m not really sure what you were trying to get at with that link 🤷 did I say something wrong? Anyway, over here you can read more about benzodiazepine addiction—which includes clonazepam, if you're interested--👍

No, no, I was just happy to stumble upon the exact same info... don't get all worked up immediately 😍

Timothy Wood38 said:That’s just not true. Klonopin is clonazepam, which belongs to the benzodiazepine class, and just like any other benzo, it absolutely causes dependency.

I was wondering if anyone here is currently taking or perhaps has experience with Seroquel XR?

I don't take it, nor have I ever tried it.😛

Kenneth Scott41 said:I personally never have any dreams, and if you ask me, I'd say that’s probably for the best. 🙂
What would I even do with dreams? I just want to get some actual sleep!🙂

Must be nice! I had another absolutely terrifying nightmare last night—definitely need to jot this down for tomorrow's birdwatching trip.

Exactly—that's the whole point!👍

But honestly, you really ought to run it by your doctor first just to be safe.

Your dreams aren't necessarily linked to your medication—or maybe they are, who knows—but honestly? You’d probably get more out of it if you just started keeping a dream journal and brought those notes to your therapist to pick apart. It’s really just your subconscious trying to process all those bottled-up emotions.

Don't just jump straight to 50 mg of Zoloft. For the first two days, take 1/4, then move to half a pill for the next two weeks before going to a full pill. Otherwise, you'll be stumbling around the house like a drunk. With Zoloft, it starts to wake you up after 2-3 weeks, so usually, people take an anxiolytic like xanax, Remeron, or something else alongside it.

Exactly. Start with a quarter... and everything else Brandon Newman95 mentioned is spot on. It might even help if you take your second dose in the early afternoon so it doesn't keep you wide awake at night.

ambermason16 said:I started a new medication regimen today... 35 mg of [redacted] per day (yeah, I know the drill), Faverin 200mg (haven't touched that in ages), Misar 3*2 mg (honestly, I have zero clue what that even is), Esperal 500mg—or maybe just half a tablet at 250mg, same old story—and Lexaurin 6mg PRN. Has anyone else ever dealt with this kind of cocktail? And specifically, what are your experiences with Misar? Also, how does everyone handle such a high dose of Faverin?

I’m on 250mg of Faverin myself. I even bumped it up to 300mg during a really bad crisis. It definitely works for anxiety. It used to knock me out completely at first, but after a bit, it leveled off.

I really hope you're getting your liver checked—good grief, that is a lot of chemicals!😲

Hey everyone, please make sure you're getting your blood work done regularly. I have to step off Tegretol—my liver is acting up a bit lately.😢

Kenneth Scott41 said:Actually, there's also a 37.5mg option—that's usually how you start🙂

Oof, well, I totally messed that up—my bad! But hey, maybe it'll make you feel better if you just check the manual to see what the max dosage actually is.🙂

Kenneth Scott41 said:I’m currently on a regimen of Zoloft, Lexapro, and Effexor XR—which I suppose is essentially just Effexor, though this specific version is a much more affordable brand manufactured by Pfizer rather than some overpriced name-brand option.

I can't help but wonder if 150mg of Effexor daily is perhaps pushing things a bit too far? I suppose I should ask those of you who have been through this—has anyone else ever had to manage such a high dosage?

Look, 75mg is usually just the starting point—taking 150mg isn't some huge tragedy!🙂

Timothy Wood38 said:Right now, it’s just Lexapro. Though, looking back, I’ve cycled through just about everything—trying combinations of Prozac, Effexor, and Wellbutrin... nothing really stuck, even after giving each combo at least a month. Currently, my cocktail includes Lexapro, Eglonyl, Zyprexa, Xanax, and Normabell, plus I'm starting Dormicum tomorrow. My psychiatrist actually gave me the same warning you did—that given how much my system seems to require, Dormicum might not even touch the sides, but hey, it’s worth a shot, right? I deal with classic Borderline Personality Disorder, so self-destruction is basically baked into my DNA at this point. Honestly, no terminal diagnosis would shock me; if anything, I’d probably be relieved to finally wrap up this absolute wreck of a life.

You're putting in the work—doing PT, staying on top of your meds... it's definitely an uphill battle, but don't give up.👍

Timothy Wood38 said:Thanks for the encouragement. Anyway, how are things with you? How's your cocktail of meds treating you? I'm still a total skeptic about this Lexapro, even though I've only been on it for two weeks. Honestly, I haven't found a single antidepressant that actually works for me yet... I've cycled through Prozac, Paxil, Effexor, and Wellbutrin. Maybe, just maybe, Lexapro will actually pull off some kind of miracle.🤷

Are you only on one antidepressant? Sorry, I totally forgot...

Timothy Wood38 said:So, I finally called it quits on the Sanofi last night. Honestly? I never want to touch that garbage ever again. I tried playing it safe to get some sleep—just a 10 mg Norma and 1.5 mg Xanax—but obviously, that did absolutely nothing. Not a wink. It wasn't until I bumped it up to 50 mg of Norma and 3.5 mg of Xanax that things actually shifted. Tomorrow I’m starting on Dormicum, so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully, it actually knocks me out, because if not, I'll probably just end up back at those massive doses of Norma and Xanax tonight. Look, I’m fully aware that I'm hooked on benzos, and frankly, I couldn't care less. If I have to pop them for the rest of my life, or if they eventually kill me... well, whatever. I suppose I'm just wired that way—pretty self-destructive, really. My health isn't exactly my top priority right now; if anything, the worse it gets, the better.

Don't think like that... I mean, I wonder if you'd still feel this way if you got some bad news from a doctor... the mind can play all sorts of tricks, you know...
I have my doubts about whether Dormicum will work for you—I really hope it does, but given the amounts you're taking... I've used much smaller doses myself and it barely kept me asleep for more than a few hours...

analogorca33 said:Prozac 20mg in the morning

Lexapro 1/2, 1/2, then 1 of 3mg
I've been on a similar regimen. Regarding Lexapro—personally, I find it works better than Xanax because it doesn't leave me feeling so dead inside that everyone else notices I'm medicated.

Yeah, a long time ago—Prozac, but paired with Xanax.

Timothy Wood38 said:Well, my body just works in its own strange way, I suppose. Take Valium, for instance. They say it doesn't cause physical dependency, but with me? Not so much. I started at 20 mg and somehow wound up at 50 mg or even higher—last night I actually took 100 mg. Currently, I take Normabel during the day and then combine Xanax with Valium at night. As for BPD, that’s just shorthand for Borderline Personality Disorder. To be honest, I'm really hoping Lexapro does the trick for me, too.

oh, they absolutely do! Every single one of those hypnotics and benzos causes dependency if you take them long-term.
I seriously cannot believe you downed 10 Valiums!!!!!!!! hey!!!
If you can't sleep, find an alternative!
Valium is just meant to knock you out for about three hours anyway! Trust me, I've tried every hypnotic under the sun before they finally put me on an anticonvulsant—a mood stabilizer, Tegretol! Good grief, and you're taking Normabale and Xanax too!!! Is your shrink actually monitoring what you're taking, or are you even telling them about your dosages?!
Do yourself a favor and read up on these meds.

Regarding those two relapses you mentioned—how intense were they, and how long did they last?

Depression runs in my family. Honestly, as soon as things get even slightly stressful in my life, I hit a relapse that lasts a few months—basically, however long it takes for me to pull myself back together. I've tried Prozac at 7 mg, Zoloft at 5 mg, and right now I'm on Fevarin at about 3 mg. I also take Tegretol as a mood stabilizer; it helps me fight off those heavy crying spells during the day and keeps me asleep at night. Back when I was on Zoloft, I used Lamictal as a stabilizer. (Those are technically anti-epileptic drugs, but they serve a different purpose in psychiatry).

About a year ago, I dealt with severe GAP while taking Fevarin along with a tapering dose of Xanax—so it was essentially in my system 24/7. If you have more questions, feel free to shoot me a DM.
