Oh, so you're a shrink now?☕🙄

I guess... is anyone else here actually taking this stuff?

Arthur Vaughn2 said:So, I have a quick question. Along with my Zoloft, I've been prescribed Misar to take as needed, plus Arvind (25 mg) twice a day, once in the morning and once at night.
Does anyone know if taking Arvind (an antiepileptic) messes with how birth control pills work?

"...Before starting ARVIND tablets, notify your doctor:
- if you are using any form of hormonal contraception or hormone replacement therapy
- if you are taking any other medication containing lamotrigine
- if you are already taking other medications for epilepsy or bipolar disorder (manic depression)."

I suspect that warning is mainly there to monitor how these types of meds affect the liver.

You really should get liver function tests done every 3 to 6 months—and definitely check in with the doctor who prescribed your mood stabilizer.

Personally, I was on the pill while taking Tegretol—which is also a mood stabilizer (originally an anti-epileptic)—and I didn't run into any issues at all.

This drug may also be used to treat movement disorders, Restless Leg Syndrome, relieve trigeminal neuralgia, atypical, akinetic, myoclonic, or absence seizures, etc. The precise mechanism by which clonazepam exerts its antiseizure and antipanic effects is unknown, although it is believed to be related to its ability to enhance the activity of GABA. Clonazepam was approved by the FDA in 1975 and is one of the top 200 drugs prescribed in the United States.

Ashley Thomas5 said:I was wondering, does anyone know if it's actually possible for Lexapro 20 to cause bruising on your legs even if you haven't bumped into anything?
Has anyone else out there noticed symptoms like that happening?

Oh boy! Regardless of whether others have experienced it or not, get off that medication right away and call the doctor who prescribed it to you immediately!!!!

Kenneth Scott41 said:Well, I'm back! 😁

So, about ten days ago, I ended up spending four days checked into the psych ward. I told my psychiatrist that I was honestly just fed up with the whole routine—just lying in bed all day, popping pills, smoking, and dealing with the exact same monotony every single day. Plus, sleep is basically non-existent because there are two other people in the room who just snore through everything.😳

I mean, I could be at home doing the exact same thing and taking these same meds, so what’s really the difference? 🤷
And yet, here I am again, back in this little "sanctuary." 🙂

Right now, my regimen includes Zoloft (which I actually think is great, since I haven't felt any side effects from it), Lexapro 20, Effexor 75, and Normabel. It seems like a pretty decent combination, if I do say so myself 🙂; I haven't run into any nasty side effects, though I guess the Effexor gives me a bit of heartburn.

How is everyone else holding up? Especially you, Rejo? 🙂

"I'll be back," he said, and wouldn't you know it? Welcome back, man.

Wait, how did you hear them snoring through all those meds? Just kidding. 🤣

In case you missed it, we started a lively new chat called I See Dead People. 😲

Nicole Chase3 said:I'm an F-22 and Risset literally saved my life. People whining about medication are just straight-up idiots. I take my stuff just to quiet the voices. Don't worry, I'm not abusing them or anything—just keeping it chill. I'm hanging in there.

It’s always easy to play the expert when it’s someone else's skin in the game—but the second it hits home, suddenly everyone’s crying for help!👍

Brandon Newman95 said:Oh, absolutely. But man, it pays off—provided both the client and the therapist are actually fired up about it. You have to put in the work. It’s a grind, honestly. A total blood, sweat, and tears kind of job.

Oh, yeah, I couldn't agree more on that one.😉

And staying healthy? That’s becoming an expensive hobby, too—unbelievable.

Joshua Phillips5 said:Hey. I’ve been diagnosed with social anxiety and depression. I feel like I’ve cycled through a ton of meds already—tried Zyprexa, Lamictal, Prozac, and Paxil. Right now, I’m on Lexapro and Xanax, but honestly? None of them seem to be doing anything for me. I don't know what else to do... and man, living like this is just brutal. Anyone got any advice??

What about psychotherapy? Have you looked into that yet?

Kenneth Scott41 said:To circle back to the subject of psychotropic meds for depression... I had an appointment with my psychiatrist today regarding my current depressive episode, and she suggested that the Lexapro I’ve been on for such a long time just isn't quite potent enough for my specific situation. Consequently, she prescribed Ladiomil at 25mg to be taken once in the evening alongside my other medication.

I’ve been lurking on this forum and following this particular thread for quite a while now, yet I haven't really come across anyone who has actually used Ladiomil. I suppose I'm wondering if anyone here has any firsthand experience with it? Has anyone ever tried taking it?
From what little I could dig up online, it seems like it might be an older medication that isn't used much anymore...

Anyone out there? Any thoughts?

You’ve got an answer regarding depression—check the weight gain. 😛

Timothy Wood38 said:Back at it again with yet another medication shuffle. My psychiatrist decided to pull the plug on my Prozac and swap it out for Wellbutrin instead. So, here is the current lineup:
Paxil 60mg
Wellbutrin 300mg
Zyprexa 10mg
Ambien 20mg
Xanax 0.75 mg

I’m curious—does anyone here actually have experience using Wellbutrin? I’ve been trying to convince myself that this specific cocktail of Paxil, Zyprexa, and Wellbutrin is going to be the magic fix. Honestly, the power of suggestion is a funny thing... I already feel a bit better, 🙂 even though, realistically, it's far too early for the Wellbutrin to actually kick in. But, well, there it is. If you've dealt with Wellbutrin before, please, let me know what your experience was like.

Kenneth Scott41 said:Normabell and Xanax at the same time? I mean, isn't that pushing it just a little bit??
Personally, I only take Normabell, and honestly, it works way better for me than Xanax ever did.
I used to be on Depakote as a stabilizer, but that was a nightmare—it made me put on about 20 pounds and gave me these awful tremors and spasms... just a terrible medication, really. I don't touch it anymore.

Not both; it's one or the other.

Kenneth Scott41 said:Hehe, I suppose that little bear is actually pretty cute 🙂

Anyway, how have you been holding up health-wise? How’s the medication regimen treating you? I guess I’ve finally tossed out most of my pill collection... I'm down to just one... well, maybe two, if I'm being honest.

Also, for my routine: I take Faverin for depression, Tegretol as a mood stabilizer (though honestly, it mostly helps me sleep), and then either Normabagel or xanax.

It looks to me like Luxet is just a generic version of Zoloft, basically just an AD.

Bradley Smith3 said:thanks for the support 🙂
and man, this whole thing isn't easy either.
sometimes I feel like I just ran a marathon—totally wiped out😁 from all these resurfaced feelings and memories... and then there are those moments where I wonder if I'm even bothering...

Of course it isn't easy—in my eyes, the people facing their own emotions head-on are some of the bravest people out there!👍

Bradley Smith3 said:Ashley Thomas5, look, I don't touch any antidepressants, but I am hitting up therapy once a week—plus, I'll occasionally pop a little Xanax here and there, just a tiny dose because I’m terrified of getting hooked.
I think the mental health work helps a ton, but man, some days I'm just completely losing my mind.😁

It’s clear your doctor thinks you don't need meds, and thank God for that. But you're doing the most important thing by sticking to that weekly session—just keep it up!👍👍👍
