Pretty decent fun, honestly.
Some folks just feel the need to tear everything apart and hunt for flaws.
Sure, this flick isn't perfect, but it does exactly what it set out to do—entertain me and take my money 🙂.
You’d have to be seriously bitter and fed up with the world to hate on everything for no real reason.
When I’m actually in the mood for some deep, heavy dive into human psyche and relationships, I’ll go watch Lars von Trier or Peter. Like I said in another post once—I love those guys, but you can't be in a bad mood forever.
You grab a date, hit the theater, get some popcorn, and just chill.
A little action, a few cool scenes, and then you head home. That’s how I roll.

mellowtrucker44 said:Just got back from the premiere. To put it simply: PHENOMENAL!
Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg didn't miss a single beat.

The effects are incredible and hit hard and often, but they don't step on the toes of anything else; the plot is solid too—nothing groundbreaking or deep, but it doesn't need to be, and it’s paced perfectly.

There is just so much good stuff here... specifically the humor, which is way better than those so-called comedies clogging up theaters lately. I can't even remember the last time I laughed that hard. And the romance isn't shoved in your face or even playing second fiddle; it's just tucked in there nicely, totally unobtrusive, and fits the whole vibe seamlessly.

You’ll find a few cliché moments that true action junkies are going to absolutely love (if you aren't an action fan, honestly, why are you even here?), and they'll definitely pull a smile out of you. There are even some Easter eggs scattered around, little nods to previous work by Bay...

The soundtrack is the usual high quality, with a few scenes that give off a bit of a Dwayne Johnson vibe, which is a nice touch if you ask me.

And yeah, for the people who are going to complain—NO, the movie is NOT realistic. There are plenty of stunts and impossible scenarios that wouldn't happen in the "real world," so anyone who starts whining...
"Transformers suck because, like, they get hit by fifteen missiles and nothing happens."
"Transformers suck because they just keep shooting and never run out of ammo."
"It sucks because they jump twenty feet into the air."
...should probably just shut up, because frankly, they're being idiots.
Overall, in my book, this is the best adaptation of an anime/manga ever made. Rating: 10/10.

I'm totally with you on that!!
Lately, I’ve just stopped expecting much from movies. In years past, I used to head to the theater feeling this heavy weight, almost like I was bracing myself just to be disappointed again. Honestly, I’ve lost that spark—that actual fun you get from going to the cinema.
That’s exactly why you go to the movies, right? Whether it's a hit or a dud, it's all about just having a good time.
Just got back from the premiere. Honestly, I didn't know much about the movie—didn't read the comics as a kid or even watch the cartoons or play with the Transformers toys. Still, I walked out of AMC Theatres feeling super happy with it.
I didn't care about the uncomfortable seats or anything else. Honestly, the movie was a blast—totally hit the mark for what I wanted, which was just some solid entertainment. Plus, there were a few other things about it that really worked for me. Look, maybe I’m just your average moviegoer, but that’s exactly why I went in looking for this kind of fun.
It wasn't cheesy for me—the romance stuff is basically just background noise—and it didn't feel pathetic at all. It’s actually pretty funny, but honestly, the action is what carries it. You get all the running, the shootouts, the explosions... that final fight goes on for like an hour! There are some seriously wild scenes too, especially when they go flying off the highway. I'm sure the hardcore fans will find something to nitpick and the critics will probably hate it, but personally? I'm all in. $8.25 Got exactly what I wanted, which isn't always the case. A massive dose of laughs and pure adrenaline—tons of action. You doing alright?
Leave your brains at the door, folks. Popcorn and fun are guaranteed—we’ll leave the deep, heavy analysis to Almodóvar and those other highbrow types.
Alias (2001-2006) in TV Series ·
What kind of misinformation is that? My alias isn't even moving. Definitely not by 10 AM. I’m thinking it’s just stuck in a queue somewhere.
R.I.P. Chris Penn in Movies ·
Yeah, I’m wondering the same thing. Tons of commentary, but zero info on what actually happened. Probably just gonna be some headline saying "he was found dead in his LA apartment." Just missing two little words and it'd look like any other celebrity passing. Cauchy and a match.
Commando in Movies ·
Any kid born in the late seventies had a core set of thirteen legendary flicks they grew up on—think four Rockys, three Rambos, Conan, Terminator, Predator, Commando, and some racing movie. It was basically our childhood, and even now, whenever someone brings up Commando, my buddies and I start rehashing the old stories.
We spent about eight months waiting for it as kids. We knew it had to arrive eventually; it was a massive hit in the States, so the rumors eventually trickled down to us kids here too.

We actually wasted time going to the theater to see two wrong movies because we were convinced *that* was the one. The posters just said "Commandos," but obviously, Schwarzenegger wasn't in those films like Women of Commandos (which is honestly one of the biggest trash movies ever made) or Professional Commandos (I can't even remember what that was about). But hey, we were eight years old—what did we know? We were basically just looking for an excuse to watch those movies, burning through whatever pocket change we could scrape together. We actually gave up candy and Bazooka gum for two weeks just to afford a ticket.
We prepared for this for a long time; we knew exactly what we were waiting for.

The real fun was the competition: whoever brought back the news from downtown (where the actual movie posters were posted) saying Commando had finally arrived in our small town would be crowned king of the street for the next month. Every single morning, we’d race toward the center of town since we lived pretty close by.
I wouldn't be telling this nostalgic story if I hadn't been the one to do it. And because of that, I earned the undisputed right to play the legendary John Matrix during our reenactments in front of our apartment buildings the day after seeing the movie. I'd lost the races for Rocky IV and Rambo II two years earlier, so this was my moment—make or break.🙂

Ahhh, Commando... just thinking about Schwarzenegger on that poster holding a gun is enough. It was a major highlight of my childhood. That kind of pure kid happiness is something today's kids wouldn't understand—maybe it's just drool-worthy nostalgia for me, but damn, it was real.
Short Cuts in Movies ·
It was alright, though I’m not really a huge Altman fan—I think his other stuff hits harder. The vibe of this movie, with those overlapping stories and that whole depiction of middle-class depression, really reminded me of the movie Happiness. To me, that one is way, way better, even if it might have been influenced by Short Cuts a few years later.
Chasing Amy (1997) in Movies ·
It’s got this soul you just don't see in movies anymore. I don't think Kevin will ever top Clueless.
Bad Santa in Movies ·
Honestly, one of the better flicks from last year. A bit of a shame it wasn't a little raunchier—felt like it could've used a slightly edgier finish—but still. Still, alongside School of Rock, my favorite comedy from last year has gotta be that one with Thornton. He’s just the king of cynics; I don't think anyone else could have pulled off that role quite like him.
Mirko Cro Cop vs. Mark Coleman in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
Yeah, I know Mike Tyson was the move, but I figured Brock Lesnar might have had a fight lined up in the meantime, maybe within four months or so.
Mirko Cro Cop vs. Mark Coleman in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
Thanx man !! You happen to know who Fedor might face next, or when that fight is happening?
Mirko Cro Cop vs. Mark Coleman in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
Seriously though, when is the fight happening?
You guys missed the most important part.
