What on earth was that? I feel like I just sat through some repetitive loop from a trashy reality show. It’s giving major Kardashian vibes, and honestly, I can't stand it.
Look, I've never really been a fan of Sandler, but he actually caught me off guard here—he was surprisingly decent in this role. That said, I wish he’d dialed it back a notch. The whole performance felt like one long parody, which made it hard to actually connect with the character. Such a missed opportunity.
The movie is basically walking a razor-thin line between being a masterpiece and total garbage.
Benjamin Ruiz60 said:Look, I couldn't exactly read between the lines of your "illusion" because you only gave me one single line to work with. Obviously, he was just a regular guy before he turned into that terrifying Napoleon figure—he even met Josephine long before he became that ruthless tyrant. But sure, you're totally right, those "nobodies" always end up pulling off these massive military or political stunts and becoming emperors.
And let's be real, where would you ever actually admit you were wrong?
The way you're twisting my words is insane. From the jump, I was mainly pointing out how people overhype him like some kind of legendary rogue—which, let's face it, probably only happened once he grabbed power—but now you're trying to pivot the whole argument onto his entire body of work.
So I'm saying it again (or drawing it in crayon for you): that "nobody" thing was strictly about his vibe as a smooth-talking lover.
Benjamin Ruiz60 said:And when exactly did he turn into that terrifying version of Napoleon? I mean, what's the plan here? Are we going to sit around debating the exact moment he lost his innocence?
So, when I made my little dig about how he was basically a nobody—or even worse, couldn't handle a normal woman until he morphed into that monster—you shot back at me like I didn't know the first thing about him.🤷
Well, guess what? Now all those facts are finally bubbling up to the surface, proving I actually called it.☕
Or just read between the lines: women just gravitate toward power trips.
Benjamin Ruiz60 said:It’s pretty obvious you don't know the first thing about Napoleon's conquests—and I'm not just talking about the land he grabbed, but his romantic life too. 🙂
Just so some random internet troll doesn't come at us calling us clueless, I’m gonna have to go ahead and crown the absolute godparents of the entire horror genre ☕
A total kaleidoscopic fever dream of pure terror and dread
bluecyclist64 said:Honestly, I think most people here would probably jump for joy if they got a massive electric shock every time they clicked that totally useless link of yours.
Man, that'd still be better than them clicking a dead link and getting absolutely nowhere.☕
nimblemarlin6 said:I saw "Orca" ages ago... can't really recall much, except I remember thinking it was just a carbon copy of Jaws—if I'm remembering right, you've got your charismatic fisherman and his weird little vendetta against one particularly smart orca...
Ever since Jaws, there’s been a mountain of cheap variations on that exact theme—just endless Italian shark flicks. You've got horror movies about barracudas, then you've got Joe Dante's "Piranha," then those cheap Italian piranha movies... then "alligator"...
And it isn't just water predators, either. "Into the Grizzly Maze"—which is basically a straight-up rip-off of Jaws, just swapping the shark for a grizzly. Then there's that horror flick about a pack of wild dogs called "Pack." Or that horror movie with the massive boar titled, well, "Boar." Rats attacking New York City in "Rats," and so on...
Over time, animal attack movies—especially the ones involving sharks—have turned into a total joke.
But look, there is this tiny niche trend of minimalist animal films. They're often low-budget, but they actually land. "The Reef" for sharks, or "Blackwater" and "Rogue" for crocodiles... I'd recommend them. Cheap, but they work!👍
Everything you just listed sounds like a bunch of soul-less movies to me, honestly.
For example, this film is on par with Orca; it actually has that certain human connection.☕
Eric Garcia85 said:The Orca killer from '77. Look, I liked the movie even if it’s been a minute since I sat down with it. It’s hard to put a specific rating on it, but honestly? Totally worth a watch. It really nails how smart those "friendly" dolphins actually are. And man, when they get pissed off, they’ll go right after Great Whites. They can be sweet, sure, but they hold a grudge like nobody else. My bad, Patrick Martin, had to jump back in there.
☕
👍
It’s not just about them eating you, either—they basically play games with their food before they do. ☕
Ennio Morricone - Orca Theme
There's just something about this flick... it feels almost epic, I don't know how to put it. Just a massive sense of melancholy regarding animals. It hits hard.
I remember watching the sequel in a movie theater back when I was just a kid, but honestly, I didn't even catch the first one until way later on TV. The second part definitely keeps the tension up, but man, that original? That's an absolute classic. And yeah, I'm with you—Quint is such a standout character. I’ve always had a soft spot for that old-school breed of actors. Speaking of legends, Richard Harris was absolutely killer as the Orca killer ☕
