Look, I found out recently—just through some straight-up talking—that you don't actually have a clue...
northerncrane4 said:The trailer specifically says "from the producers of John Wick." There isn't even a mention of the director.

And I certainly wasn't agreeing with you when you were talking about our actors.

That’s just classic marketing bait, honestly. It's a total smokescreen because the director hasn't really made a name for himself yet. I actually think this movie might be the big break he needs to finally get noticed.

And I definitely wasn't agreeing with you when you were talking about our local actors.

Maybe you just missed the boat there—and honestly, that hypocritical vibe is exactly why I called out your selective logic and those double standards.😁

Wait, I think they say silence can be a sign of agreement sometimes...☕
northerncrane4 said:I was referring to Bob Odenkirk—who is undeniably part of that progressive Hollywood circle—and this is clearly just a vanity project for him. What director? Some guy named Elijah? Who even cares about the director when he's likely just some former stuntman. The point is, Odenkirk is a progressive—part of that group that condemns civilian gun ownership on one hand, yet films high-octane action scenes with firearms on the other. It's the same pattern we see with someone like Brie Larson and her little attempt at humanizing the military-industrial complex.

And when I was rambling on about how American actors don't have any backbone left, everyone just jumped down my throat like a pack of wolves.

Honestly, I’m not a fan of that dismissive attitude toward directors either. I guess I’m still one of those old-school idealists and romantics, a bit of a film bohemian, so that kind of cynical take doesn't sit right with me either—especially coming from someone actually in the industry.
northerncrane4 said:Elaborate—or just shut up.

shut up forever🙄 hilarious as always, that's why I like you👍

Look, it’s pretty straightforward to me. I don't think the director or this whole genre even belongs to that "progressive" Hollywood crowd you're obsessed with. Honestly, there isn't even any room to start slapping those labels on everything these days.🤷

A studio stuck in its ways like that wouldn't even know how to capture a movie like this.☕

That kind of narrow-minded thinking? You basically only see that stuff in some small town in the Midwest.🤷

If everyone lived by that whole "eye for an eye" system, we’d all just be stumbling around blind and toothless.

which is exactly why they made ☕
northerncrane4 said:Dammit. Just based on the trailer alone, I spent days wondering how Hollywood’s progressive crowd would whip up an NRA picture book without blinking—and wouldn't see a single issue with it. It’s truly a miracle—the sheer power of selective outrage.

Did I read "selective"? Because if anything here is selective, it's your take—basically your whole way of thinking. ☕

Anyway, I actually liked the movie. It’s not like we haven't seen stuff like this before—kind of a hybrid mashup of *Leon: The Professional* & *Kick-Ass*—but there are definitely some cool little tweaks in here.

For me, the best part was how they kept the focus on the action and the shootouts, while simultaneously cranking up the pace during those boring, empty stretches of life.

It was my first time seeing the lead actor and man, he hooked me immediately. ☕

The relationship with the woman was just enough to actually make the audience feel something.

I love movies where the main characters make me want to channel my inner Avenger. 🙏

I could honestly watch him go nuts one more time.

Harold Chavez6 I can't even begin to explain this one without getting worked up, but here we go. It’s like when you’re driving down a highway in Ohio and suddenly everything just hits the fan for no reason at all. You think you’ve got a handle on things, then boom—total chaos. That's basically what we're looking at here. It’s messy, it's frustrating, and honestly? It feels like a total joke. I'm sitting here trying to make sense of it, but it's like trying to read a map in a thunderstorm. Just pure madness.
Wait, did they seriously just confirm that too? Seriously? I mean, come on. It feels like every time we turn around, there’s some new announcement that makes zero sense. It’s like watching a slow-motion train wreck where you know exactly what’s coming, but you still can't look away because the absurdity is just too high. Everything is moving so fast lately, and honestly, it’s exhausting. Is anyone else feeling this, or am I just losing my mind here? Over on Yahoo. ☕

And of course, those geniuses didn't bother to write a single damn word about how the movie actually gets funded. Like, hello? That is literally the most important part of the whole equation!

It’s honestly hilarious how those proletarian slogans fit them like a glove. It's like they had them custom-tailored just for them. 🙏

Man, this was one of the very first movies I ever saw. Like, way back when I was just a little kid. It’s burned into my brain, seriously.

Oz the Great and Powerful actually hits pretty hard for me because it feels like such a massive homage. It totally took me right back to those old school days.

honestly, calling this anything other than a dark comedy might be a stretch, but hey, maybe it fits the bill if you're into that kind of twisted stuff. ☕

Man, you totally missed the point. It’s like this whole secret society thing, kinda twisted too. Matula/the mayoral candidate is basically just a pawn in the game. Or maybe he’s just one of those guys who actually craves the pain. Honestly, modern politics is just a total circus.

I’m sitting here reading through all your little love letters to this movie, and man, I’d love to join the club, really I would, but I just can’t. It’s a bummer. Maybe I just set the bar way too high, because I genuinely thought this Knight's Film was one of those rare gems that could actually shake up our pathetic excuse for an American film scene, but nope. Zilch. Nada. Zero. Nothing.

Where do I even start with the venting?

Let's talk acting. It’s the same old story every single time—actors just reciting lines off a page like they're reading a grocery list. There’s zero authenticity. It’s like they’re all competing to see who can be the most wooden in this perpetually mediocre era of Hollywood. And honestly, trying to hide behind that "black comedy" vibe or those forced parodies doesn't help at all. Then there's the music, which is just painfully overdone. It feels like some cheap circus act where the tunes basically scream at you, "Hey! Something's happening now!" or "Watch out, tension incoming!" as if we're all complete morons who can't read a room.

And the worst part is, I actually wanted this one to hit.

The plot, the pacing, the whole flow... it’s just a disorganized mess. Everything is chaotic. The characters don't feel real, and neither do their actions. Take the lead guy and that gun of his. He actually felt more dangerous and gritty without it. With it, he just acted like a total moron. If his basic character profile is this much of a disaster, how are we supposed to buy into anything else happening on screen?

And that whole bit about the Istanbul Convention and that weird, subversive reverse-stigmatization stuff? Absolute rock bottom. On so many different levels.

Long story short: they aimed for the moon and crashed straight into the dirt. A big, fat nothing.
