It’s not really my business if things work differently where you live—I’ve never been to a wedding in California, so I wouldn't know... all I know is that back home, we always made sure guests could get coffee whenever they actually wanted it. A lot of restaurants have these strict windows for when they serve coffee and refuse to bring anything out before then. I’ve had plenty of times where I just wanted a cappuccino earlier in the day, but they flat-out refused. I eventually had to tell them I'd pay extra just to get it. It feels ridiculous to me when someone dictates exactly when I can or can't have a drink—I drink it because I’m tired and need the caffeine, period. 🤣 It’s the same thing with dessert. If I want something sweet, I'll eat it, but I’m not going to follow some arbitrary schedule just so people can feel like they're doing me a favor by letting me eat. 👎
And what about the people who don't dance? Just sit there drinking all night?
I’m a sucker for dessert, but I usually skip the wedding spread—most of it is just bland filler. Last time, though, the treats from Magnolia Bakery were incredible; people were hovering over them, and by midnight, they were long gone. Honestly, I’ve never seen a crowd look so genuinely shocked by a dessert table. 😲
My folks celebrated their anniversary yesterday, so my mom picked up some pastries from a local bakery downtown: cream puffs and some other creamy treats. The second thing wasn't bad, I guess—just had that weird artificial aftertaste. And those cream puffs? They weren't even real cream puffs: no flaky pastry, just chocolate and cream that tasted like instant powder. 🙄 Today we actually got some decent cherry strudel instead.
Maybe it's just a matter of who's doing the work Two different people can whip up the exact same cake using the identical ingredients and still end up with something totally different. It’s like me and my mom😁—same recipe, same kitchen, same pans—but the final product is always worlds apart.🤣
. . . A lot of them kept coming up in the threads They seem decent enough—but honestly, Mašini, Emi, and Srčeko are the only ones actually worth the hype. We'll just have to sample the rest and see. 🎉
A bit too much sentimentality for my taste—though the concept itself is solid. I'm currently leaning toward something like this—maybe without the spider at the top, and sticking to a green and white palette. 🤣
It looks nice enough, I guess—it’s just that I’m not a fan of this split-level setup. Personally, I’d prefer if they just stuck to a classic, single-floor layout
well, we're all just dancing along 😁 how's that work—you actually making deals with Sal? but honestly, I haven't had a single person from the Midwest visit me in Chicago complain about me once 🤣
