That is absolutely gut-wrenching. I bet there was some kind of breaking point that set everything off, especially since it all went down right in front of your kids. I honestly can't even begin to wrap my head around what you're going through...

Your parents are certainly an interesting bunch, to say the least. Since you can't seem to get a straight word out of your mom without it turning into a mess, maybe try actually sitting down and talking things through with your old man 🤷

Hey everyone
Here’s the deal. Basically, I’ve struggled with my teeth my entire life, but the real kicker is that I am deathly afraid of the dentist—and honestly, I can't even put into words how bad it is. Believe it or not, just reading through your posts here gives me the chills.
Every once in a while, when I finally scrape up enough courage to actually show up at the clinic, the dentist just refers me to an orthodontist. And because of my phobia, I’ve spent years dodging that recommendation and running away from the whole thing. Eventually, I just kind of resigned myself to living with whatever teeth I have. It’s fine, right? Except for this one specific tooth that sticks out way more than the rest. That’s the real issue. Aside from that one outlier, my teeth are actually white and don't look half bad.
The point is, I’ve finally made a firm decision to go see an orthodontist. But, uh... I'm 28. Is there anyone else out there who decided to get braces at this age? Or is there some magic cutoff point where it’s officially too late to fix things?
