Haha, Thurgood Marshall, they mastered the art of burping a long time ago! 😁
Does anyone else remember that vomit omelet? Some guy just eats a ton of raw ingredients—it's a lot—then throws them in a pan, cooks it, and eats it all over again. Mmmmmm. 😁 😁 😁
I think the concept itself is actually quite solid—it’s a completely different beast when you consider it a feature-length motion picture built entirely on a reality show format.
There isn't really any drama involved, just pure show-and-tell.
Whether or not someone enjoys what they're doing is probably just a matter of personal taste, I suppose. But there's no denying they're extreme.
If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough When you're gettin' knocked down, you gotta get back up I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed, but I know that If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.
I’ve seen Crash and Dead Ringers. "Gynecological tools for mutant women." Now that's something!
My memory is a bit fuzzy on Elephant Man—the black and white one. Was that also Cronenberg?
Let's get a screening organized 👋
P. S. I am Fly—I never actually saw it. When I was a kid, I read a couple of pages from an article in a magazine along with some photos, and it gave me nightmares for ages.😲
Eh 🙂 I didn't know much about the book back then—though I had a pretty good hunch about the movie, which turned out to be right. As for the way people tend to lecture others—well, what can you do? It’s just human nature, I guess. 😉
To put all those speeches another way—I think people who fall into the "film snob" category should probably only suggest movies they actually believe are unique. That alone would automatically rule out all those routine sequels.
Take Matrix, for example; it was fine, but I'm certainly not watching two more sequels—it's just not *that* great. And that's exactly the mentality Hollywood relies on. Even the first LOTR wasn't quite my cup of tea.
Maybe I've just become too aware of how many Hollywood productions are on this list. This endless "waiting" for something "new" is blinding. Though, I suppose with their massive marketing budgets, it’s easy to fall for it.
They really ought to include descriptions for international films—Taylor Cruz7 mentioned Y Tu Mamá También Lilja 4-ever Los Lunes Al Sol
Alright, let’s set aside all the jargon I was using before. Let’s try this instead. This thread would be much more satisfying if people actually took a moment to think—really think—and then just picked ONE movie and explained why. Looking at these lists, it feels like everyone is just trying to show off how much they know by sheer volume, rather than offering any actual depth or substance.
I'm not really anticipating any specific film right now. When *Gangs of New York* eventually comes out, I'll watch it—but I'm not approaching it with the same level of anticipation I had for *Fight Club* back in the day.
What a joke—people sitting there on the sidelines, waiting through twenty tedious commercial flops. ON THE SIDELINES! It honestly reminds me of some sort of concentration camp where people have become so accustomed to garbage that they actually weep with joy when they get their next serving—simply because they’ve forgotten anything good even exists.
The other day, *Barbarella* was playing on TV. Now—that is a movie. Setting aside the silly plot, that film is basically medicinal for the eyes. It's nothing like this mountain of computer-rendered, "modern" blockbuster trash that you all seem to crave on the sidelines.
ON THE SIDELINES is where you might wait, perhaps, for ONE SINGLE MOVIE. Dear Consumers (is that line okay? Or should I widen the pants?). As far as I'm concerned, in this new era of Hollywood backed by American multiplexes, movies like that just don't exist anymore.
