Girl with a Pearl Earring in Movies ·
I might’ve actually enjoyed the movie if I hadn't already read the book first, honestly 🙄

The film just didn't hit the mark for me because they tried to cram the entire book into a tiny ninety-minute runtime, which meant tons of important scenes were left on the cutting room floor and all that deep emotional tension you get from reading was basically non-existent
velvetgull9, you should totally just ask for the doctor's name because I'm positive you can find some solid info about them online if you look around a bit
velvetgull9🙏
I’d love to just bring it all down to basically nothing, but honestly, after reading what everyone else goes through with Alta Miopy, getting it down to zero feels pretty much impossible😢

that’s exactly what I was worried about

so what's the move for people who don't get their vision totally corrected to perfect?

like if they go from a super high prescription down to something like a -6 instead of zeroing it out

and why isn't everyone just getting it fixed anymore?
Can I still rock contact lenses after getting laser eye surgery? Like, if my prescription gets cut in half or basically hits zero

Jamie Clark74 probably just didn't bury him deep enough😁

hey, these bandages and sprays are what we use
Snoring issues in Health ·
I mean, yeah.
You should probably just find some anti-snoring patches or something.

Just go grab some and finally get a decent night's sleep.

There's even those nasal sprays you can use too.

Gary Jones10 said:Honestly, forget about the peeling issue—we'll figure that out eventually, but seriously, where on earth can I actually find this stuff? Like, where??

Just another sleepless night over here... 😢

You should be able to grab some at any local CVS.

So, ever since I checked into the hospital, my roommate has been an absolute nightmare because she won't stop snoring, screaming, and moaning in her sleep... it was honestly brutal.

Once things got totally unbearable, she grabbed some nasal strips, which actually worked for a bit because the snoring finally stopped, but then the strips would just peel off in the middle of the night and the whole noisy mess would start all over again.

Then she tried layering some heavy-duty duct tape right over the strips just to make sure they wouldn't budge during the night.
😁

I mean, you could also just use one of those nasal sprays that you mist up your nose.
Honestly, just go see another specialist because you'll feel way more at peace once you know if the first diagnosis was actually legit or not.
I had this super famous doctor tell me my prescription hadn't changed at all, but I could clearly tell my vision was blurry, so I went to this much more low-key eye doctor who nailed my exact prescription immediately, and since starting the new lenses, things have been looking so much better.

how much of a jump in prescription is actually considered normal?

It’s totally different for everyone, but mine has been steadily increasing my whole life.😢
Sometimes it jumps by a full diopter every couple of years.
I'm switching back to hard contacts because after five years, I realized soft ones just don't work for me—my vision keeps shifting, so is there any way to stop this or am I just stuck waiting for my prescription to get stronger every single time I get an exam?

My medical history isn't exactly great, and I've seriously tried every single treatment out there, yet my prescription just kept climbing regardless, so even though they keep changing whether I wear soft or hard lenses, I just settled on soft ones since they're way more comfortable for my eyes.
Jamie Clark74 said:obviously you have no idea how much pain people deal with from other illnesses and just how much they suffer when they're fighting multiple things at once!
can you even wrap your head around dealing with chronic pain 24/7, having to sleep with a CPAP machine, or barely being able to walk more than a block or two before you're wiped out?
then there's the whole thing where you might go 40 or 48 hours without sleep only to crash for 12 hours straight, or just lying there wide awake until 3 or 5 in the morning every single night.

it’s honestly just too heavy to even process, right?!
so many people beat cancer and get back to living their lives totally normally, while others really struggle through it... I guess it all just comes down to how lucky you are.

🙂 😉 😎

would you actually want to trade places with someone battling cancer?

I highly doubt it, so honestly, you've got it way easier.🙂 😉 😎
Jamie Clark74 said:Just because we aren't all dealing with cancer right now doesn't mean we aren't struggling just as much as those who actually have a diagnosis.

honestly how do you even wrap your head around thinking something like that is actually true

I was just scrolling through this thread and ended up chatting with my sister earlier today... she was actually bragging about going to these lectures on bio-decaf coffee... turns out she’s talking about exactly this stuff... I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the sales pan out and what customers end up thinking about it.

All she mentioned was that when you buy a set with the coffee, they throw in some kind of little packet meant to be tucked into your pillows.

My sister actually had a mole removed recently, but I didn't catch any sign of a tick... she was working at a public hospital or something.

There’s really no reason to think it’s a tick because that mole wasn't even that big.

Maybe you'll end up with a couple of extra legs though.😉

Once the surgery is done, just keep rubbing some Neosporin on the scar.
honestly we could all just sit here acting all superior and preaching about how terrible this is while shouting "carpe diem" since tomorrow isn't promised, but let's be real because none of us are actually going to change a thing. it’s honestly scarier than being sick because we spend our whole lives playing games with our health and then once it finally hits us we just sit there wondering what we did to deserve it... so you end up stuck with the illness and a massive side of guilt. it's a total mess...

illness doesn't play favorites
So a few months back at a hotel front desk, this girl in her early 20s just suddenly collapsed and wouldn't wake up... turns out the autopsy showed she had cancer, though I'm not even sure what kind, and she passed away without ever even knowing she was sick, which is wild because she didn't even have any pain, so I can't tell if that's what actually got her or something else entirely.

Then there was this other young woman who thought she was just pregnant and kept putting off the doctor for weeks since nausea was her only symptom, but then the checkup revealed it was actually cancer and now she's going through chemo.

Honestly, I’d sign a contract right now to just pass away from a heart attack in my 70s or 80s because I am genuinely terrified of cancer after seeing so many people close to me lose their battles with it.

I know people say you can block water radiation by using those magnetic plates or even just sliding some cork under the bed,

but how is floating supposed to protect you from radiation?
I'm seriously so stoked to hear that everything is going smoothly

Keep me posted on how the rest of your recovery goes.
