Are you seriously telling me someone can just sign up for Cash App using fake info? Like, totally made-up names, fake emails, all that? I honestly can't believe it...

I think you might be overthinking this. If you're paying upfront, the biggest risk is simply losing that money. Honestly, it doesn't really matter how you pay him; if he decides not to follow through, you aren't getting paid back regardless of the method.

I guess I wonder, what are you even swapping at an exchange like that, and what's the point?

Does this mean we finally have one less application to worry about managing?

What format do the tickets come in?

If I end up buying multiple tickets, will they be grouped together or sent as individual ones?

Budget-friendly USB mic recommendations? in Computer Peripherals ·
Hey everyone,

I agree that the Raspberry Pi works great as a dedicated terminal for Google Hangouts. I'm looking for a small USB microphone—something like a tiny dongle that I can just plug straight into the Pi—that can pick up audio from the whole room.

Something like this:

Has anyone seen anything like this in local stores around here?

I know I could just order it off eBay, but I'm kind of in a rush.

Thanks!

It should be enough to ensure posts aren't being deleted without a clear reason, and when they are removed, it’s because they actually belong in a thread that makes some sense. 👍

By that logic, once you finish building a fence, you could just say you're moving on to making pizza on the patio behind it.

Posts get moved around unnecessarily, often using some pretty confusing reasoning, and instead of keeping things organized, it just creates a mess.

Latest example:

Someone asked how to fill screw holes in a fence over in the "Ask anything, but..." thread.

That post and all its replies were moved to "paint stripping." 😵

I honestly can't find a single rational explanation for why plugging screw holes has anything to do with paint stripping. Not once was paint stripping mentioned in the question or any of the responses. The whole discussion belonged right where it was originally posted.

On top of that, there isn't any clear notification on the subforum letting people know when posts have been moved or where they went. I guess most users don't even realize the conversation has shifted unless they manually click through every single thread hoping to stumble upon the relocated posts.
Can I tone up legs like these with working out? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
@Olivia White2/">@@Olivia White2 I bet there are plenty of people here who know their way around a gym and can give solid advice on working out. I’m probably not one of those experts, but I’ll share a thought anyway. It’s awesome if looking good motivates you to get started, but I guess it would be even better if you found something about the actual routine that you genuinely enjoy. That way, you might actually stick with it long-term.

As for my legs, I think I can pretty much pull off a mini skirt right now.

Olivia White2 said:Well, that's pretty much what I was thinking.

It's just a bit of a theory for now.

I mean, a theory isn't going to get you in shape. 🙂 Maybe you could try working out with that friend of yours? Who knows, maybe you'll actually enjoy exercising on your own, or find some other perks along the way!

Olivia White2 said:I’ve never worn a mini skirt or a skirt in my life. It started way back because I was too skinny, and even after I reached a healthy weight, I just wasn't interested in showing off my legs.

I’m pretty lazy when it comes to working out, and I used to think exercise wouldn't really help the front view of my legs anyway. But recently, it hit me that maybe training could actually yield some decent results. I used to assume calf exercises only worked on the back part of the leg, but now I'm thinking that stronger calves might show from the front (or side) somehow, which could theoretically improve how my legs look. Or am I just imagining things? Also, does anyone know any calf exercises that target more than just the back of the leg, maybe something for the middle section?

And is there anything I can do about my knees to make them look flatter? 😁

My legs are here.

By the way, I have vitiligo, which you can see in the photos, but I manage to camouflage it pretty well during the summer using self-tanner.

I’m not just being hard on myself, though. Out of all the women I see wearing skirts, maybe 30% of them have legs that I wouldn't want to wear a skirt in if I were them.
I just don't like showing my flaws unless I absolutely have to.

Look, if you're having issues with wearing skirts, don't go trying to ruin everyone else's confidence too 😉

I don't think you can flatten your knees unless you run into a wall, but maybe building up other parts could make them look relatively smaller. (Not that they look alarmingly big to me, by the way)
Winter training plan - any tips? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
redbison8 said:I’m honestly just looking for any excuse to push this off. I'll tell myself it's not a good idea to start exercising too suddenly without warming up properly, or maybe I'll just claim it's too freezing outside to go for a run and I don't want to freeze my lungs solid. :-)

Well, I guess there's no avoiding it then. No joking around. I'll just have to get my gear ready, find the best spots to train, and try to stay in shape through the winter... I don't need to be hitting 5-3.7 miles like I am now, maybe just 3-2.5 miles...

Winter is really when all the real prep happens.

bluemason3 said:That’s really an issue for whoever is choosing the ads. Maybe they aren't even tracking impressions, but just paying based on raw traffic—I don't know and I don't really care. The sheer volume of ads passed the point of being reasonable a long time ago. At this stage, any "ethical" concerns about the forum's financial sustainability feel a bit moot when the user experience is already trashed.🤷

Don't worry, anyone paying for advertising tracks their spend very closely.

What I'm trying to say is that these ads are an issue the staff at Reddit should probably look into and fix, since they're ultimately the ones responsible for the user experience. I haven't seen anyone from the site administration chime in on this thread or address the problem yet.

If you would simply dedicate three minutes of your time to this, you would find that these frustrations vanish entirely.
It is a worthwhile endeavor for everyone involved. Please, take some initiative and help yourselves if there is no other way to resolve this. After all, this Reddit community must be funded by something, regardless of the circumstances.

But if we all start using adblockers because certain ads make this place basically unusable, how is the site actually going to make money?

This thread is basically a perfect example of how this group works behind the scenes to shut out newcomers and deny them a fair shot.🙂 They actually tried to pigeonhole me, just like they did with dustypilot11, but once they realized I wasn't part of the MK crowd, they had to scramble for a different angle.

I was just pointing out how you all play the game; Miaan does the same thing too.🙂 I’m honestly pretty surprised you’d even dare talk to a moderator like that. I guess I'll just lump you in with the rest of the group then, since you're clearly all on the same side.

So, it's a coordinated criminal conspiracy, then?🙂

Three things:

1) I think your perception that everyone has rejected you is a bit skewed—I'm fairly certain about my own experience, at least. Sure, there might have been people who weren't your biggest fans, but that feels pretty normal to me.
2) Who likes whom, who's close to whom, or what anyone thinks of anyone else isn't really the point of this thread, and it definitely shouldn't be something we moderate.
3) This whole idea of a hyper-homogeneous, coordinated clique working together to drive away new members just doesn't make sense to me. If you actually gathered all the old-timers in one room, you'd get a chaotic mess of conflicting viewpoints, almost like watching subatomic particles collide. The truth is, over time, we've either learned to discuss those differences more calmly, or we just don't push it if we know we won't agree. We'd rather spend our time chatting about things that actually make us happy. Our vibe is more about keeping things fresh and cutting out the bitterness, which is what most people here value.
How do I get my fitness back? in Cycling ·
dustycobra7 said:Hey there,

I have a bit of an odd question. I haven't been back home in two years, and I haven't touched my bike once during that time. I've also put on about 18 pounds. I'll be heading back soon and I’m already mentally riding, but I know I'm not in the shape I used to be. I definitely won't be able to pull off the kind of mileage I used to (I could hit over 62 miles in a single day back in the day).

I was wondering what kind of exercises—besides running—I could do to get into decent shape before I get home? I really want to avoid getting cramps after just 6.2 miles minutes. I'm looking for stuff I can do without a gym membership, since I don't really have the time or the extra cash for a gym right now.

If you don't have a bike where you are right now, maybe just grab a stationary one or set up a trainer. Just spend a little time on it every day. Honestly, your leg strength is probably going to be your biggest hurdle when you finally get back.😉
Digital health records in Health ·
Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could clarify who actually has access to my electronic medical records right now. Also, I'm curious about who is authorized to update them—is that process different from how it used to be?

On top of that, does this mean I can log in to view my own records myself? And would I be able to see a log of who else has been looking at my file?

It’s weird. Sometimes it loads right away, sometimes there's a 15-minute delay, and sometimes it just doesn't show up at all.
