Of course, the Republican Party bots went absolutely wild in the comments, trying to defend a woman who used Mason to secure a city apartment... It’s pure madness.

But it’s all for nothing. People are calling them out for their complete lack of ethics, especially after Prvan’s absolute disaster earlier today.

If someone had told me that an Antiša Tomić would end up siding with the Republican Party bots, 🤣

I’d really love to know what kind of pension this "charity case" draws, considering her history working at the Associated Press and similar outfits. It would be fascinating to see how people react if Mary actually has a solid pension and was able to easily afford that $75 monthly rent right in the heart of San Diego...

Or even worse, if they're just using old Mary as a pawn in political vendettas by those shady media types looking to take down Puljko, who is actually trying to bring some order to things.
That would be a total shocker. 🙂

No matter how much her pension is today, it's probably a measly $400 or $600—maybe $700 at most...

It's funny how it works when you try to help an acquaintance who's in the wrong... you basically trample over everything you've ever done right. But because of Mary and people like her, Thomas's kids end up with worse conditions in daycare, school, and college...

That reporter didn't even bother bringing up the cigarette tax issue...

Just eyeballing it, his pension is higher than 75% of retirees here in San Francisco... what, should they just stop paying their utility bills and property taxes now? Maybe we should send them all back to living in tiny shacks like people did during WWII... there's a good chance that house was nationalized back then anyway...

If there were actually any brains left in the Democratic Party or those local machine politicians, they’d have already made him their prime ministerial candidate.

I mean, look at what this guy has to deal with. The entire state and city-wide mafia is out for his head.
Personally, I wouldn't want the government relying on the Democratic Party... We've seen how they operate—just look at how they jumped ship to work with that old mayor back in the day.
They only switched sides when it was convenient; if they needed more leverage, they would've just brought everyone else along with them.

They aren't quite the Republican Party, but they aren't exactly miles away either...

And don't even get me started on the absolute joke of a candidate they produced before.

I don't know what things are like in Seattle or California, but I bet nothing happens there without their blessing,
including handing out jobs—exactly like how certain parties handle business in the rest of the country.
If anyone here is from California or the West Coast, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The rise of the Center and Možemo is pushing the Democrats out of the game... realistically, by 2032, they won't even be a parliamentary party anymore...

I'm practically praying for Puljko to resign and for new elections in San Diego, just so that Republican commissioner gets hit with a few fines....

Hopefully, Ed Markey can hold them off until the end....

An old friend told me that with these fines, they're showing just how brazen they are... one less vote for the Republicans and one more for Ed Markey..

Everywhere you go online looking at comments about Puljko and his crew, this guy Sinke pops up obsessively, leaving the absolute worst kinds of remarks.

Check out what Mr. Google says: 🙂
REACTION FROM AN UNSELECTED CANDIDATE: What happened to those slogans like 'qualified over connected' and 'keeping business out of politics'?

The thing is, Puljko and his team passed on Sinke for some random board position because it turned out he didn't even have a college degree. Now, the psychiatrist son of Sinke claims he runs a super-duper successful company and is way too busy to be looking for a cushy government job. Despite that, he spends all his time lurking on news sites, spitting venom in the comments section under every single move Puljko makes.

Honestly, we should probably implement psychological testing for people like Sinke before they try to land a government gig. It would also save those "super-duper successful" private companies from suffering while their owners spend all day trolling online... I mean, the man is supposedly so tied up with his private business, yet somehow he has plenty of time to lead a Facebook revolution against Puljko.

This is a whole new breed—the wannabe bureaucrat. 😁

He was probably getting ready for retirement, so now he finally has the free time...

An investor could donate four floors of the building to the city in the name of the public interest. The White House would move into the new tower, and then the old White House building could be sold for a massive profit.

San Francisco and Eric Adams would come out ahead, and it would finally fix the shady dealings left behind by Schumer and the previous administrations.

It isn’t a perfect solution, but it’s a win-win for everyone involved. Honestly, I’d settle for a 10% finder's fee just for coming up with the idea... 😉

That sounds great... right up until they decide to turn those floors into new daycare centers for the kids!

And then, to top it off, shoving trash into a compactor just to prove people are overreacting about smells and issues. Now they’re planning to open another site over at Kopilika. On top of that, he’s out here on social media asking for volunteers for oversight boards. It’s pure madness—the kind of chaos a major US city shouldn't have to deal with under Ivica Puljak.

You have my full support 👍

The whole thing with the recycling bins is just unbelievable... If only Ljubica Vrdoljak had elevated San Francisco's cleanliness to European Union standards during her 30 years in power....

And inviting young people to join those oversight boards? Unthinkable. For years, dozens of young party loyalists were out handing out flyers, waving banners, and acting like internet bots, only to be completely bypassed now. It's just shameful...

I was wondering if anyone could give me some "fresh" intel on a few local spots: Executor, Andrea, or Gašpić Solin?
I’m mostly looking for the lowdown on their service and the quality of the food, since I have a decent idea of the pricing. I actually stopped by Nirsa recently and thought the place looked fantastic, but I noticed some chatter on the forums about past issues, so I wanted to see if things have smoothed out lately!
As for Gašpić, I’ve heard the food is absolutely top-tier even if the atmosphere isn't exactly breathtaking—which honestly works for me given how convenient the location is!

If your credit score is up to 750, then Nirsa is definitely your best bet....
gentlewolf69 said:Hey everyone, just wanted to drop a quick heads-up for anyone currently hunting for a wedding venue. A close friend of mine is getting married next year—most likely in September—and she’s been scouting locations. She actually fell in love with this specific venue in Dover that holds about 200 people. They’re planning on inviting around 200 guests, though they're realistically expecting closer to 170 to actually show up. Well, the venue manager told them that if they truly think only 170 will attend, they should just book a smaller room... because if they go with the larger space, they have to pay for all 200 seats regardless. Even after giving him a final headcount closer to the date, he won't budge. When they asked what would happen if they booked the smaller room but then suddenly had 200 people show up, he basically shrugged and said that wasn't his problem. If you want a room for 200, you pay for 200 chairs. He even went on to say that if someone books a hall for 350 because they invited, say, 360 people, but then notifies him a week or two before the deadline that only 300 are coming, they still have to pay for all 350. Apparently, this is his "new policy" and how he's decided to run things lately. I mean, how is anyone supposed to know their exact guest count a full year in advance to pick the right room? And these days, by the time you even know, everything is already booked up months ahead anyway... I just wanted to share this because my friend was absolutely livid dealing with such an idiot, and honestly, I am too. I can't believe some people run businesses like that. If he had said that to my face, I would have given him a piece of my mind and then some... 🙂 🙂

Dolis has four different halls, and obviously, he's trying to squeeze every penny out of the situation... He actually mentioned once that his occupancy is around 70%, and he feels like he loses a ton of money when people cancel.

That Dolis venue (the one not located by Lesnina) is honestly one of the best spots in all of California, excluding standard restaurants or hotel ballrooms. It fits about 230 people... and the guy simply refuses to rent it out for 170 guests a year in advance when he knows someone else will eventually swoop in for that date with 220 people. Let's be real: those extra 50 people represent pure profit for him.

Ivica Matić is clearly the type of guy who'll jump ship to another place for $33 a few extra bucks... if he were actually a professional, that wouldn't even cross his mind... it's pathetic...
We're dealing with some low-rent behavior over ten mediocre photos $33... there isn't much left to say. I'll make sure to trash him wherever I get the chance.

I really hope you guys didn't catch whatever bug Matić had about a month ago down in those basement studios! I told them back then they were going to end up with some absolutely killer shots...

Neno sent me some shots from his studio, and I’m honestly thrilled with how they turned out! My only gripe is the layout in the albums... I can't wrap my head around why he doesn't let the newlyweds decide which photos actually make the cut.

Canceling that wedding shoot was such an unprofessional move on his part. I truly feel for those couples who likely booked him over a year in advance! That said, I’m hopeful he managed to find them a worthy replacement... but still, it just feels so unprofessional.

Photoshop is honestly such a lifesaver! I love using it to touch up a few stray hairs, smooth out some wrinkles, or even just tweak my height a little bit. It makes everything look so polished!

wanderingbadger17 I really hope everything else worked out perfectly for you! As for what those pictures will be worth... well, you'll just have to wait a year to see that magic happen!

Once those photos finally arrived, we had to pick a place to host them... and honestly, there was only one right choice! I can't quite make sense of that link! It looks like it might be broken or just lead to a dead end. I had a similar issue last week when I was trying to find a recipe on a food blog, and it's always such a letdown!

feralcrane10 said:So, I’ve been scrolling through this thread reading all your stories and advice... and honestly, you guys might be able to help me out even more than I thought! =]

I'm actually helping organize a wedding for some friends who aren't even from the States—they're visiting—because they really want to have a huge party out in California, and I'm basically their main point of contact right now...

As of this moment, the plan is to host the guest welcome at the Michelangelo Museum, then the ceremony will be at St. Patrick's Cathedral, and we'll wrap everything up over at the Pirate. I know a ton of people go with a similar setup, so I'm dying to hear about your experiences—like, what should we be looking out for or any red flags? =)

Also, how far in advance should we be booking a band? Right now, finding the perfect band and a photographer is our absolute top priority...

Any help at all would be amazing... =)

The Michelangelo venue is $15 $0.00 plus cleaning fees...

Well, after 16 months, it’s finally all wrapped up... from booking the venue to getting the photos back. I'll be putting together a massive breakdown soon... especially for the guys, since it's pretty obvious the women are running the show around here!

To start off, just set up a nice Word document and log everything you eat and drink... after two weeks, you’ll finally see where those sneaky calories are hiding!

For example, ditch the soda, try cutting your bread portions in half, and watch out for those big Sunday dinners—they almost always clock in at over 2,000 or 2,500 calories!

1. Lighting...does anyone have any solid recommendations, and what kind of budget should I realistically set aside for this?
2. Catering for the pre-ceremony gathering...I would love to hear all your suggestions, tips, or even just personal experiences you've had with different vendors.
3. Wedding venues...how far in advance is it generally recommended to get everything booked?

Thanks so much in advance for any help you can provide!

1. Check out Semprefree or whoever runs that setup over in the downtown high-rise building... $533 they do great lighting, disco balls, and all those fun little fairy lights.

2. For catering, go with Mimi. I actually promised myself I wouldn't recommend them because they called me the Friday before my wedding demanding full payment upfront or they wouldn't show up! But honestly? The food was so incredible everyone was floored. More than half the plates were licked clean—total credit where it's due!

I’m planning on bringing in four forklifts from this supplier http://www.jm-yetong.com/en/index.asp

We’ve gone back and forth quite a bit... honestly, they’re getting a little annoying with how many emails they send...

Is there any way to verify if this is a legitimate company?

It bugs me a little that they’re asking for the full amount upfront...

It’s happening again: I was eyeing the Matić-ali option, but since the price tag is pretty steep, it’s officially off the table.
Since both other options share a similar artistic flair, I’m torn—should I go with Nikola Smernić (from Studio Papaja) or Siniša Srdanović?

The price difference is negligible if you hire two photographers instead of one, given they can capture much better angles and more diverse shots.
So, in terms of budget, it’s essentially a wash.
But who actually delivers better work? Who is more approachable, and in your experience, whose final images possess that superior level of quality?

I would truly appreciate your recommendations...
Thanks

Personally, I think getting great shots requires a lot of teamwork from the couple itself! You're constantly being told "look right," "touch your chin," "move your hand here or there"... I practically lost my mind!
The photos aren't back yet, though.
The photographer was Neno from the Matićev crew.

Did you end up hosting an actual reception there, and what did they end up billing you? Because if they’re just charging per drink based on the standard menu, and every guest decides to knock back five rounds... the bill could get pretty ridiculous, right?😕 I was actually thinking about trying to negotiate a flat fee with them, or maybe something like an open bar limited to specific drinks.
