It’s the exact same nonsense you run into with those parking meters. You drop a fifty-cent piece in and the machine doesn't even blink.
How to clean a leather jacket in Miscellaneous ·
Terry Brown42 said:I need to clean my leather jacket, and I’m wondering about the best way to go about it—should I toss it in the washing machine, or is there a better way?
And at what temperature?
🤷

Don't even think about washing that leather. You’ll ruin it instantly. Your best bet is taking it to a professional dry cleaner, though I wouldn't hold my breath for a miracle. Honestly, even if they claim they can do it, there's no guarantee. In my neck of the woods, most places won't even touch a job like that.
brighteagle26 said:First off, trying to carry everything by hand is just plain impractical if you're buying more than a snack. And I have zero intention of paying extra for those flimsy plastic bags they try to sell you. Besides, women walk into stores with handbags all the time, and I don't see anyone causing a scene. Where would everyone even put their stuff if we were forced to leave our bags at the door? It would be a total nightmare of crowds and chaos. From what I've seen, there’s a blatant double standard when it comes to how security views a woman's purse versus a backpack.
Second, these stores are crawling with cameras, security guards, and those exit sensors. The opportunity for theft isn't exactly wide open.

Next time, just carry a clutch. Then you won't look suspicious. 😁
Look, I personally leave my bag behind just to dodge those annoying bag checks. You can always carry your items in your hands, a basket, a cart, or even a plastic bag, then just toss them into your purse on the way out. I’m not saying it’s right that you get hassled constantly, but most stores have signs at the entrance stating that bags belong in the lockers. Shoplifting has spiked lately—especially things like chocolate, perfume, makeup, seasonings, sausages... and retailers are going to do everything in their power to keep those losses to a minimum. For instance, if you walk into a Forest store wearing a backpack, they might not even let you through the door.
Just toss your backpack in the locker by the entrance, then grab it once you're done shopping.

Hey ladies, quick question for you. We’re about to start making our rounds for the door-to-door visits soon, and we’ll be carrying that gift basket along with us. I’m a bit stuck on what actually goes inside. Should we stick to the classics like bourbon or maybe some cherry brandy? What are you all thinking?🤷
Is there actually a set order for sending out invitations, or do we have to prioritize the best man and maid of honor first?

We used to carry around both bourbon and wine. It was a predictable ritual. The men would almost always toast with their bourbon, while the women stuck to wine.

A couple of years back, I bought some from a woman out in Siberia for $5 a sprig. She actually threw in some extra clippings for free, so the total cost was even lower. It was excellent quality—really fragrant. I have no idea if she's still selling, though.

Quick question: where on earth can I pick up some Xinban boxing gloves?

I’ve hit up basically every shop in town, but they’re nowhere to be found...

Probably one of those Chinese retailers online.

Hello. I have these two images here—one of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and one of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I found them tucked away in an old house I recently purchased, and now I’m curious about what they might actually be worth. I was wondering if anyone could provide a rough estimate of both the minimum baseline value and a more realistic market price, if you wouldn't mind taking a look.

Also, there is this specific hallmark on the back of the frame:

I appreciate the help.

1. If their total gross receipts last year topped $300,000.
2. If their actual net income was higher than $60,000.
3. If the value of their long-term assets exceeds $300,000.

As far as I can tell, nothing has actually been lowered. Starting next year, rates are going up to $574 across the board—pension, health, workers' comp, you name it. Then there’s the Chamber of Commerce fee, which sits at $88 every quarter plus an extra 0.40% of your income. And don't even get me started on the annual overhead: corporate taxes, local tourism levies, historical preservation fees, tax prep advances...
I absolutely loathe this whole Daylight Saving Time shift. It always takes me a few days to actually adjust to these "longer days," but I have to admit, that one night when the clocks fall back is pure bliss. Getting an extra hour of sleep is the only saving grace.😁

Cantaloupe versus watermelon. It’s a classic debate, really. One is subtle, musky, and requires a bit of patience to truly appreciate. The other is just pure, aggressive sugar water that hits you like a freight train on a July afternoon in Texas. Personally, I don't see the appeal in the constant tug-of-war between them. They serve different purposes. If you want sophistication, you go with the cantaloupe. If you just want to drown your thirst in a bucket of sweetness, you grab the watermelon. Pick your poison.
