Laura James11 said:I’m just asking because the paperwork specifically asks for height and weight, but he just left it blank and didn't even ask... When I walked in, he didn't even look up from the chart before I sat down, just kept reading the file :/ I actually know this girl who had surgery about five years ago and they messed up her dosage—she woke up feeling zero pain but was totally paralyzed, yet she could hear everything. It was terrifying. The doctors thought she was just being crazy at first, until she started repeating their own conversations back to them about what they were having for lunch...

Honestly, don't let stories like that get in your head—the odds of that happening to you are incredibly slim. If the idea of anesthesia is stressing you out this much, just have a real talk with your doctor before the procedure... I'm sure once you walk through it, you'll feel way more confident that everything's going to be fine. 😉
driftingmason4 said:hey everyone, I have a few questions about nose surgery
I finally decided I want to go through with it because this bump on my nose really bothers me... I'm looking for recommendations for private clinics, and what's weighing on me most is that part where they make a cut above the upper lip. I saw that they do that when using the closed technique... I'm wondering if they always have to make that incision inside the lip, regardless of the situation?? Also, is four weeks after surgery enough time to get back to my responsibilities—college, work, and all that?

Don't let that stress you out too much—I just have a tiny little incision under my nose that you can only see if you're staring at it from super close, otherwise it's basically invisible. 😉
Recovery is pretty much different for everyone, but I know I was already heading back for finals after about 10 days, so I'd say four weeks is more than enough time.

Laura James11 said:is it normal for the anesthesiologist not to weigh you during the exam? Like, they didn't even ask for height or weight? 🤷

It seems normal to me that they don't weigh you, though I guess I would've expected them to ask at some point. 🤷
When I went in, they actually recorded it somewhere in my medical file, so it feels logical that they'd ask if they're logging it anyway. Plus, weight can vary so much from person to person, even if people look like they have similar builds. 🤷

But honestly, I believe if it's an experienced doctor, they can't really mess that up... hopefully. 😬
Jose Anderson88 said:Hey everyone, I’ve got surgery coming up on August 12th—so, exactly two weeks from now. I was wondering if smokers usually quit everything two weeks before the actual procedure? Honestly, that’s going to be the hardest part for me... even though this surgery is super important. I already stocked up on mint gum and a ton of hard candies, so fingers crossed I can make it through without a cigarette..
Another thing I'm curious about is whether it's actually normal to head home the same day as the surgery. My doctor mentioned I'll just stay under observation for a few hours and then I'm out...

I don't smoke myself, but from what I know, you're supposed to stop so the healing process goes smoother and all that. As for heading home the same day—yeah, that's totally normal. I'm guessing that means you won't be under general anesthesia, so if everything goes according to plan, there shouldn't be any reason to keep you overnight. 🙂
velvetharbor17 said:I have a quick question for the group. I went to see Dr. Miller, and he thinks I might have some inflammation, so he prescribed Medazol 400. The plan is for me to take five tablets in one day—and my partner is taking them too. Just a heads-up, I’m currently on birth control. Does Medazol interfere with how well the contraception works? If it does, how long should I ideally wait before starting the course, considering my last time was this past Tuesday? Thanks!

Shouldn't your doctor be the one telling you that? 🤔
Honestly, your best bet is just calling the doc or checking with a pharmacist... it really ought to be mentioned in the instructions too.

Ethan Cruz4 said:Hello hollowharbor12,

I believe the answer depends on which specific pill you are taking from the blister pack. Generally speaking, anything occurring after the eighth pill is considered higher risk, and medical professionals often suggest using additional protection for the following seven to ten days. It is also my understanding that any significant events happening within two to three hours of taking the pill should not interfere with its absorption.

I had a very similar experience myself when I was on Triquilar, with an interval of about two and a half hours. In my case, they assured me I was protected and advised me to increase my intake of fiber and potassium through my diet, noting that hormonal contraceptives can sometimes impact digestion.

In my opinion, it doesn't necessarily have to be severe diarrhea; even if your stool is noticeably softer than usual, it is worth noting. If I were in your position, I would reach out to your gynecologist to ask for clarification. It is always better to be certain. 🤷

With the Adexa brand, I don't think there's a difference day-to-day because all the pills in the pack are identical. It’s possible that Triquilar from Adexa works a little differently, though.

The instructions say: If you've vomited or had severe diarrhea within 4 hours
after taking Adexa, you might not have absorbed the hormone dose properly. If you start
feeling better within 12 hours of taking it, just follow the steps in section 3.4 regarding missed pills and take another one. But if you’re still vomiting or dealing with diarrhea 12 hours later, then you follow the "forgotten pill" protocol in section 3.3.

The main thing is that they specify severe diarrhea. You should still get the necessary hormone dose regardless of whether your stool is firm or just a bit soft. As long as it isn't excessive—you know, actually heavy—I don't think there's any reason to panic... 🙂

crimsonangler2 said:So, about an hour and forty-five minutes after taking my pill, things got a little soft down there... I wouldn't exactly call it full-blown diarrhea, just kind of mushy, you know... Should I have taken an extra pill? The instructions say to take another one if you deal with severe diarrhea, but now I'm sitting here wondering what actually counts as "severe" in their book...

And what happens if I didn't take it? Like, how much extra protection am I getting and for how long...

Well... honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. 🤷
I mean, it’s not like you were running to the bathroom 17,000 times—the consistency doesn't really matter that much.

Regarding the extra protection, the manual says 7 days, though I don't think you really have anything to stress over... 😉

Yeah, they’re newer—I think they hit the US market around 2013. 🤔

I’m not totally sure if they’re specifically for cycle regulation... I guess they work like most others. My OB-GYN told me I didn't really need anything to regulate my period and just prescribed these instead. 🤷

But honestly, they’re great—side effects are pretty much minimal... I get a little more emotional and my boobs got a bit bigger, so I kind of call it even. 🎉 😬
All in all 👍.

Gary Rivera2 said:So, I finished my last pill from the pack last Tuesday, and I haven't started my period yet. I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative... My doctor says I should just start the next pack of birth control tomorrow, but I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has any thoughts on this.

Should you keep taking them? 🤷
My doctor warned me that this can happen, though it usually happens when you've been on the pill for a while (but hey, it could happen sooner too, I guess). It might even be mentioned in the actual pamphlet for the medication, so don't stress too much...🙂

Hey there, just popping in to say hi and hope everyone’s having an absolutely stellar day so far... stays breezy out there! kaže:
Nicholas Lopez3 says they didn't really give me that option anymore, or even bother to offer it to me, so... 🤷
I wandered past three different pharmacies before I finally tracked one down since they just opened up all these new spots around town... 🙂Man, they were the only ones who actually had them in stock... My prescription is good for like 12 months, so I guess I'll just be heading back there once a month then...

Yeah, it kind of bugged me that since they’re so new, I couldn't find a single thing online about them, like actual reviews or what they cost or anything at all... But honestly, they've been pretty good for me so far, no major side effects except for some light spotting that cleared up super fast, so I'm just crossing my fingers that it stays that way... 🙂

I haven't been using them long enough to really tell yet, but fingers crossed everything stays cool. 🙂
When did you notice the spotting, and how long did it last?

Hey, just checking in... hope everyone's doing alright today. Still thinking about that conversation from earlier—some things just stick with you, you know? Anyway, just wanted to say hi... catch you guys later. kaže:
But hey, the doctor said it was fine—so I guess it should be all good then... 🙂

Hey, let me ask you—did you end up just grabbing the one-month supply or did you go for the three-month pack? I'm trying to figure out if that second one is actually worth the money since everyone says it's a better deal... though honestly, everywhere I've checked lately, they didn't even have it in stock.

They stopped giving them to me for that first one—well, they didn't even bother offering... 🤷
I ended up hitting three different drugstores before I finally tracked one down—since they just opened up around here, everything is still super new and confusing... 🙂Yeah, and these were the only ones they had left. My prescription is good for 12 months—so I guess that means I'll be heading back there every single month then...

Harold James3 said:Hey there! So, I’ve been on Diane 35 for about two years now. Quick question for the group: am I actually protected from day one once I start my new pack after that 7-day break?

Wait, shouldn't you be protected the whole month? Even during those 7 days when you aren't taking any pills? 🤔

Hey there, just popping in to say hi and hope everyone's having a totally beautiful day so far... stay awesome... kaže:
I saw someone already asking about Adexa pills, but since nobody really jumped in to help, I figured I’d just ask generally... I started taking them yesterday, right on the first day of my period, and my cycle basically wrapped up that very same day... Now today there's just nothing left, so I'm sitting here wondering if that's actually normal...
John Thomas2 mentioned that my doctor said it’s totally normal for periods to get shorter if you've been on the pill for a while, but I'm just sitting here wondering how quickly that's supposed to happen after starting... 🤷

I started on these about two and a half weeks ago, right on day one of my period which only lasted four days... though I was actually taking Duphaston just to get things moving in the first place, because without it, who knows when it would've even shown up... and honestly, thanks to the Duphaston, it only lasted four days instead of my usual six or seven...

I don't know about your situation, though it seems kind of wild to me that just one pill would totally shut everything down right away... but hey, I'm probably wrong so take it with a grain of salt... 🤷

My doctor told me it’s fine—basically, as long as I’m certain I’m not pregnant, she said I should just keep taking the pills as usual and that’s that. We'll just have to see how it goes... 🤷

Thanks. 😉

So, I saw someone else asking about Adexa pills earlier, but since nobody really chimed in, I figured I’d just ask generally... I started taking them yesterday—right on the first day of my period—and honestly, my period was totally over by the end of the day. Like, nothing today at all. Now I'm sitting here wondering if that's actually normal?
My doctor mentioned it's pretty common for your cycle to shorten if you're on the pill long-term, but I guess I wasn't expecting it to happen that fast the very first time... 🤷
Time is flying by way too fast in Psychology ·
That whole bit about perception is spot on. Emotions can totally mess with how you see things—including how time feels... 👍

But then I read this theory somewhere saying time feels like it's speeding up as you get older simply because each year represents a smaller slice of your total life. Honestly? Even I can't quite wrap my head around that one. 😬
Like, think about it—if you were in preschool at age 4, that was basically most of your entire existence back then, maybe like 90%... so it felt like it lasted forever (since it was practically your whole world). But by the time you're in high school at 14, those four years are only a fraction of your life, or even less, so it feels way shorter. I don't know if that actually makes sense to anyone else, but... yeah, just thought I'd toss that info out there. 😁
