Sebastian Vettel is currently showing a bit more pace, but everyone else is right on his heels, so qualifying is going to be an absolute blast.
It’s all going to come down to the tiniest details; I wouldn't be surprised if they're separated by mere thousandths of a second.
Does anyone have the scoop on what happened with Nico Rosberg? Was it just a coolant issue, or is there something more serious going on?

But I wonder, does anyone else happen to recall this moment:

A true master is a master, regardless of what car he's sitting in.
Whether he's driving a junker or a masterpiece, he doesn't stop fighting until he sees that checkered flag.

Last year, that driver completely lost his cool and didn't care who he took down with him.
And then you had the other wild card cutting it a little early just to make sure they were waiting for them later.
If Ferrari fails to make it into the Third Qualifying Session, then we'll know they've basically hired some kamikaze driver
who’s going to take them out at the very first turn just to get it over with.
I’m expecting absolute chaos at the starting line—it’s honestly the only way we’re walking away with a podium finish!!!

That Williams Racing crew really isn't going to see any points this year.
Today was just a perfect storm of bad luck: they had Felipe Massa struggling, Nico Rosberg looking weak, a lackluster Force India performance, and then a perfectly timed Safety Car
that set them up for disaster. They ended up making the exact same rookie mistake in the pits three separate times, and they were just slow enough compared to Pastor Maldonado
that everyone managed to overtake them.

Vettel, Raikkonen, and Grosjean all knew exactly when to make their moves and overtake when it mattered most, which is something Alonso just couldn't quite pull off.
Even those few laps spent trailing behind Hamilton ended up costing him a much better finishing position in the end.

He just burned through his tires trying to hunt down the SC.

I mean, the car was already off the track anyway.

Not until Mark Webber catches up to them.

Lewis Hamilton's car was dancing a little too much on the track today.
They’ve got about two hours to get that handling under control, otherwise, there's no way he's securing pole position.
We'll just have to see if the Sauber team can find any pace, though I suspect their speed might be inversely proportional to their current bank balance.

And then Sebastian Vettel comes along to slam them all back into harsh reality.
shadowstag10 said:So you're telling me an SC for 6 laps didn't help him stay within 7 seconds of Alonso?
Not to mention that other SC right before it too.

From what I can see, that safety car only hurt Alonso; it actually helped everyone else close the gap to the leaders.
Kudos to Mark and Lewis. Huge congrats to Nico Rosberg on taking the win.
I mean, what exactly did Fernando Alonso do today to make his fans feel so vindicated?
Was it just because the guys ahead of him either blew their tires or had to retire?
Felipe Massa started right behind him, but after that tire failure, he had such a massive struggle just to limp back to the pits
that he ended up finishing only 7 seconds behind Alonso.

Fortunately—or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it—we haven't raced at Tamburell in quite some time.

But honestly, tackling Parabolica or Eau Rouge could be much more dangerous.

🙂

There's a line in a book you probably hold quite dear that goes something like:

"Who among us has never had a clone in their life, except for the first 🙂"
shadowstag10 said:Where on earth did I say he gave Alonso an advantage?

You can't seriously claim those gaps are realistic when you're talking about a few laps left after an SC. It's totally skewed.

Give me a break—let's talk about Raikkonen, who managed to finish only 30 seconds behind the winner after grinding through the whole race.

Let's go!

Thank goodness the calculator only goes up to two digits.
Do me a favor and upgrade that thing before next season, because you won't be able to keep up once the odometer starts spinning uncontrollably.

Believe me, he could probably knock out four or five drivers from the race all by himself without any help.

I wonder if anyone else has been thinking about this lately? It feels like there’s a certain energy shifting, doesn't it? Sometimes you just have to step back and look at the bigger picture. What do you all think? kaže:
If they manage to catch a bit of rain, they might just dodge those rocky turns right at the start. And hey, if nothing else goes sideways for them, who knows? They might actually earn themselves that bottle of champagne after all. 😁

I have a feeling we won't be seeing many opportunities to raise a glass anytime soon.

As I already mentioned, the real celebration happens on Saturday after qualifying.
It feels like even Bernie Ecclestone can't save them this season.
They’d need help from at least Romain Grosjean, Sergio Perez, and someone working behind the scenes just to ensure each driver manages to knock three or four people out of the race.
If those three couldn't pull it off, then Pastor Maldonado would probably just dive in and sacrifice himself for Valtteri Bottas.
Nathan Jones98 said:If they catch some rain, dodge a massive pileup at the start, and everything just goes right—maybe then they'll actually need that Champagne brands stuff.😁

From what I can gather, that sponsor is going to be most visible on Saturday once qualifying wraps up.
Everything will be tasted and celebrated in due time. Besides, nobody is really expecting much this Sunday anyway. If some miracle happens and we actually get a result, at least we'll have that official F1 champagne to toast with.
