How long do soft contact lenses last? in Health ·
mistybison, where on earth are you getting those from after only a month, and what's the actual brand name?🙂
Dealing with lactose intolerance? in Health ·
You can find about a dozen varieties of those Kinder-style treats at Walmart. The one you’re thinking of is most likely Carobell; you can usually pick it up at any local health food store.

If that ingredient is truly a dealbreaker for you, then you'll basically have to steer clear of everything in the grocery store.

Allergy-friendly products are pricey, though they tend to be a bit more affordable here in the States than what we deal with back home.
Now, just imagine if you were dealing with all that on top of having Celiac disease.😉 Or if you have a little kid with a legitimate milk allergy, not just an intolerance.
Nobody has ever died from an intolerance.😁 Aside from some bloating and a run to the bathroom, that's about it.

Soy yogurts have this somewhat distinct😬 taste profile.

I still find this whole thing about intolerance and excruciating pain a bit hard to swallow, if you don't mind me saying.🤔I really hope you've had a chance to get checked out by a doctor, just to make sure there isn't something else going on under the hood.

And honestly, it never even crossed my mind that chocolate syrup often contains milk, so you’d naturally want to steer clear of it. Especially when you're grabbing something at a cafeteria or a local bakery.
Usually, if something is free of dairy, gluten, peanuts, or soy, they'll label it clearly right on the package. It's stated loud and clear.😁 Of course, that convenience comes with a much higher price tag.

boldsailor32, what's your diet actually look like?

Aside from sucking blood from aunties on the internet, of course.😬

I mentioned that we should talk about the episodes😢 but everyone just seems to be ignoring me😢🙂

Are you absolutely certain it's just a lactose intolerance issue? 🤔 Just an aside—most people dealing with lactose intolerance can actually handle yogurt just fine.😉
Dealing with lactose intolerance? in Health ·
You eventually get used to it too😬Personally, I’d much rather deal with that than face the day without my coffee.

boldhound81, how do you feel about yogurt?

😘 Hey there, 🙂

They really need to start paying from day one, just to get them used to the routine. 😉 We can always hike up the rates later on.

Come on, don't be so dramatic about it. Of course there's a cost involved—I mean, gentlecanyon92 already pitched in by prepping lunch for everyone.😬

You can just send $17 over to my checking account. Then, whoever joins next can chip in to yours, and we'll just keep that cycle going... shoot me a DM if you want the details.🥳
Sinus ultrasound: What to expect? in Health ·
If I’m not mistaken, an UVP doesn't actually penetrate hard tissue. Since a sinus is essentially just a hollow cavity within the bone, I don't really see the point in trying to use a UVP to examine them.🤔

Unless we're talking about a CT scan or an MRI?

analogwolf4 said:Hmm... I was thinking about how testosterone levels in men and those menstrual cycles in women—you know, progesterone and that other one I can't quite wrap my head around right now—and how their ratios differ between the sexes. This is just a hunch, mind you... but I suspect depression kicks in because inhibitors (those chemical blockers in the brain) interfere with the release of certain hormones that govern behavior. Essentially, they stop the hormone from reaching its intended destination. That’s about as simple an explanation as I can muster; I won't dive into the heavy biochemistry because I'm pretty sure the mods would kick me off the forum for overstepping. 🙂 It all happens at the beginning or end of the synapses, where the nerves connect, and there are honestly a dozen different reasons why this occurs.

Could you please walk me through this idea about hormones controlling behavior? 🤔

And how exactly does an inhibitor stop a hormone from getting where it needs to go? 🤔

Hillary Clinton😬

Maybe try brushing up on some basic communication skills before jumping headfirst into a debate. It would also go a long way if you actually brought some relevant data to the table.

And above all else, please stop SHOUTING at people.🙄
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Kenneth Diaz3 said:Honey, go back to first grade—you know, that old school building you used to hide from your dad near? Try learning how to actually read and comprehend things before jumping into an argument, okay?

It seems to me you’re in need of a decent medical doctor, though I suspect a dentist wouldn't be particularly qualified to handle your specific issues.☕
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
It seems like dentists are constantly bad-mouthing one another lately. I suppose hair stylists do the same thing; maybe it’s just part of the American temperament.

You have top-tier specialists who can handle a root canal and fix the whole tooth in a single visit.

You're saying a private dentist messed up your tooth, so you called them back a few days later and it turned out to be gangrene.🤔 Fine, if you say so. Or maybe the canals were filled incorrectly and you ended up with gangrene anyway. Go ahead, believe what you want.😬

But to think you'd end up needing surgery immediately just because of a canal revision...🤔

Look, I have no idea, but if I were actually considering whether to file a complaint against someone, I’d probably start by doing some Googling first. I might call the dental board or head down to a local office to actually ask about my specific issue.

Only then would I start throwing stones at people.

Do you honestly believe that doctors working solely through Medicare can afford to use the absolute highest grade of materials?😕

Is it that mess over by the old coal mine?😕

Well, they just reopened it downtown, and it actually looks pretty decent now.

Honestly, I can't think of any other spot where you can try on so many different brands of jeans all within a few square feet.

Not quite a neo-sexual😬

If you aren't planning on driving all the way out to Chicago, you should check out the Mega Factory Store over there. They have a massive selection of denim brands all under one roof, so you can test out different fits without wandering aimlessly through half the city.
Anyone else dealing with hand tremors? :) in Health ·
Jose Miller3 said:Exactly, there’s zero ambiguity here.

I’m somewhat on board with you regarding the whole "throwing out serious diagnoses" thing. And let's be real, I'm certain Kyle Nelson2 was just messing around; nobody in their right mind actually thinks someone is suffering from some kind of total madness.

But what’s the alternative? People on this forum mess around. Most people don't come here looking for a medical evaluation—that's why there are actual doctors who put in the years of schooling and licensing just to hand out diagnoses professionally. We’re all just killing time by talking nonsense. If someone gets genuinely rattled because an anonymous person on a message board suggests they've lost their marbles, well, if they need a neurologist for tremors, they probably need a therapist too...

I agree. I think I took things way too seriously myself. I honestly thought northernridge97 was genuinely worried about whatever was going on with him.

We have Parkinson's in my family, and honestly, I wouldn't wish even the mere suspicion of that diagnosis on anyone, let alone the disease itself.
Anyone else dealing with hand tremors? :) in Health ·
If you hear hoofbeats, you should probably think "horse" instead of "zebra"...😁 It honestly bothers me when people start throwing out heavy diagnoses left and right. If someone reaches out asking for advice, it’s perfectly natural that they’d feel unsettled by an answer like that.

I personally think it’s much better to suggest seeing a doctor—even if you're one hundred percent sure something is wrong—rather than just tossing out these intense, scary alternatives as if they were facts.

Muscle twitching is so common these days that everyone assumes it's something major. 😁

Lithium can be incredibly effective for managing bipolar disorder.😉

Maybe try some magnesium first, and if you're still worried, just go chat with your doctor.
