Thyroid issues in Health ·
Well... it turns out my T3 levels aren't even low 🙄. My mom took a look at my lab results and, honestly, she completely misread them at first glance. It was just... 🙂 😛

I still need to double-check everything once I get back home, though

What does it actually imply when my TSH and T4 levels are sitting within the normal range, yet my T3 comes back slightly low?😕
Steven Collins38 said:I also get the impression that an anxiety-depressive disorder could be the precursor to psychosis.

I don't believe that is actually the case. A psychotic disorder implies that a person lacks the capacity to distinguish reality from their own imagination... whereas anxiety is a neurotic disorder, which pertains to a disruption in emotional perception.
If you truly feel like your perceptions are leaning toward the psychotic, then you absolutely must address that and seek treatment immediately; if you leave it unchecked, things could certainly take a turn for the worse. You really ought to seek out a second opinion from another psychiatrist to thoroughly investigate whether you are dealing with a psychotic disorder or simply neurosis. (To my untrained ear, this sounds more like neurosis.)

Corruption in Medicare in Health ·
This isn't strictly on topic, but I am just so incredibly disillusioned with our healthcare system... To give you an idea, my father passed away just two and a half weeks ago. When the ambulance finally arrived to take him to the ER, he and my mother ended up sitting there for four and a half grueling hours at the hospital's cardiology unit (emergency 😲) before anyone even looked at him. And the worst part? It wasn't even that crowded. You could see doctors just wandering aimlessly from one side of the hall to the other... it was absolutely appalling!!! 😲 🙄 😢 😢 😢

Just horrific! 😢
Praxiten and Aketon side effects? in Health ·
Praxiten is a benzodiazepine, which essentially makes it a sedative. It’s designed to calm you down, ease tension, and induce drowsiness, which is why so many people reach for it when they're struggling with insomnia.

As for me, Praxiten never really did anything for my symptoms... Honestly, regarding the Praxiten, I don't think you need to lose sleep over what your sister is taking; however, I find it quite peculiar that she's on this second medication without being prescribed an antipsychotic alongside it... (Unless, of course, she’s dealing with Parkinson's.) But then again, I suppose her doctor knows best.🙂

"Cogentin (chemically known as biperiden) is an anticholinergic medication used within psychiatry specifically to prevent or manage the side effects triggered by antipsychotics. To be perfectly clear: Cogentin does not treat the underlying symptoms of the illness itself; rather, its purpose is to mitigate or forestall the adverse reactions caused by antipsychotic treatment. These side effects, which Cogentin is prescribed to combat, include involuntary muscle movements, abnormal eye positioning, muscle stiffness in the body and face, or a "mask-like" facial expression. It is critical to note that Cogentin should not be administered to patients suffering from angle-closure glaucoma, prostate hypertrophy, or cardiac conditions, as it may exacerbate these issues. Furthermore, prolonged use of Cogentin in elderly patients is generally discouraged. One must understand that antipsychotics are not addictive, nor do they poison the patient, control the brain, or dictate thoughts and behavior; instead, they assist the patient in organizing confused thoughts, help them perceive their surroundings more realistically, and allow them to maintain better control over their own behavior."
Mortgage rates and advice in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I appreciate that... So, looking at the situation, it turns out I actually need to look into a mortgage. And frankly, I am completely in the dark about how any of this works... 😢 Do you happen to have any insight into the typical process for all of this?

Could someone please provide a clear explanation of what exactly a mortgage is? Thanks in advance.

Winona, what kind of tumor were you actually battling, and how did you finally manage to beat it? I am genuinely curious about your entire journey... You have only given us tiny fragments of the truth, leaving so much unclear... 🙂 😕 If you are willing to share your story with us... 👋
How to gain weight? in Health ·
How could my 66-year-old father go about gaining some weight? Ever since he dealt with pancreatitis and underwent gallbladder surgery about six or seven years ago, he hasn't been able to put on any mass and remains quite thin. Is it necessarily a bad thing? Perhaps not, but it would be genuinely beneficial if he could pack on a little bit of weight... So, how does one achieve that at his age? 😕
Dealing with allergic rhinitis? in Health ·
I’ve heard that a spray called "Nasonex" works wonders for allergic rhinitis... I think that was the name, though I can't seem to track down my own prescription at the moment...

Kenneth Hernandez67, what kind of symptoms should I be looking out for if there might be an issue with my kidneys?

Are you running a fever? Are you under an immense amount of stress, or is there something else weighing heavily on your mind?
Thank you, Thomas Young4. But tell me, do you actually understand the implications of this? Is this something I should be genuinely concerned about? 😲
Does anyone actually have any idea what that's supposed to mean?! 😲 😕

To ensure you receive the most precise and accurate feedback regarding the interpretation of your lab work, we suggest including the following details when transcribing your results:

- complete results - many values cannot be properly interpreted if they are listed in isolation without the context of the surrounding data.
- reference ranges - if your report includes reference ranges, please include them. Different labs use different standards, so a number alone is meaningless without knowing its specific reference range.
- age - you don't need to provide your exact birthdate, but a general age bracket—such as early twenties, late forties, etc.—is helpful since normal values vary significantly across different age groups.
- the reason for testing (your symptoms) - this is perhaps the most critical piece of information. It is nearly impossible for anyone to accurately interpret your results if they don't know why you were sent for testing in the first place.
- a brief history of other medical conditions - if you have existing health issues, mentioning them provides a much more complete clinical picture.
- anything else - it would also be useful to note if you are pregnant or experiencing other physiological changes, as these factors heavily influence laboratory findings.

I went in for blood work today and I'm looking at the results now... Does anyone know what "Morph.ch." stands for? I'm assuming it means "morphological change"... and what does "anisocito. micro" mean (that's the result)?
Thanks.

Ahem... Brian Edwards78, are you... hm... implying that I don't have a clue? Is that what's happening here? Ha? 😉 😁 😛
