I just got a fine from the MTA in Miscellaneous ·
Eric Wells3 said:I’ll just shove logic and common sense right up your ass. If that's how you plan on thinking in the real world, you aren't going to get very far.🙂

Honestly, screw the moderator's gavel and all your supposed intellect and education if you can't even manage to read a single fifteen-line post from start to finish.

I would honestly pay to have that happen to me.
😳 😢

But you're just a pushover, so I guess that doesn't count, right? No way, of course not!
Anyway, looking at the legal advice from Eric Wells3 (who might be an expert, who knows?), I’m seriously considering bringing all my dogs with me next time I board a bus, or maybe just wearing a snake around my neck. We'll see how that goes...
On one hand, it's almost impossible for me to wrap my head around the fact that what Eric Wells3 is saying is truly everything I could possibly do in a situation like that. But then again, I've had enough run-ins with reality to know how the world actually works. 🙄
Basically, one half of my brain keeps insisting that the laws of this world are supposed to follow some kind of logic or sense. It stubbornly maintains that things *must* work that way, even if it can't provide a single actual argument to back it up.
The other half of my brain, however, looks at the facts and judges based on experience, telling me that none of this makes any sense or follows any logic whatsoever. It tells me the only real way to survive is the old-school method: "just trust yourself (and your gut)."😁

So, here's my takeaway—if I’m not some massive, imposing guy, none of that legal advice you're peddling actually matters to me. In fact, if I don't have that physical presence, I guess there isn't much I can even lean on in this society, right? It's a bit of a paradox, I suppose. We act like we aren't animals because we're supposedly intelligent, civilized, and cultured, and all that other nonsense... but deep down, we still operate on the principle of the strongest.😁
And yeah, I'll admit it. Bitterness is definitely bleeding through my words here.

How sweet... 🙄 maybe I should "upgrade"... 🙄 with some clay?

Yeah, Eric Wells3, everything sounds great from a legal standpoint, but what about those aggressive transit officers? You know, the ones who get right in your face or snatch your ticket out of your hand? What am I supposed to do—call the police in the middle of being harassed by an MTA officer?
Specifically, this bus driver—an MTA employee—started by demanding my pass so he could "get a better look at it" (apparently because I have some sort of "special" pass, not that it matters...). When I refused, he literally ripped it out of my hands. Before that, he actually stood up, got right in my face, and acted incredibly aggressive and arrogant, then told me he wouldn't give it back until he felt like it.
God, I don't even know how to react in those moments. I just lost my cool, which was exactly what he wanted. Later, once I had calmed down, I realized I actually could have called the cops and reported that an MTA worker stole my property. Because that is exactly what happened. He finally gave it back after ten minutes.
Who am I even supposed to report him to? Some guy in a little blue booth at the station?

Lawrence Garcia93 said:Honestly, you people have talked so much nonsense on here that I’m officially tapped out.
If you actually want any kind of spiritual growth, you FIRST have to strip away all the garbage and the rigid dogmas they've been shoving down our throats for years.
Only then can you be truly cleansed and open.
That is how you actually find the right path.

God, Lawrence Garcia93... I've known that for years, but I could never quite put it into words that simply. Seriously, props to you!

Morgan Brown38 said:When we talk about emotions, we’re really talking about anger, rage, joy... basically everything sitting beneath the first three levels of human development.
True feelings don't actually kick in until you hit that fourth level. We're talking compassion, a sense of oneness, devotion, or even love on a cosmic scale...

Working on your "feelings" doesn't even start until you reach that fourth center. Up until then, you aren't really developing them; you're just trying to distance yourself from the raw emotions.
The quality of your thoughts depends entirely on how centered you are within one of those consciousness centers.

But I suppose that wasn't really why you were asking... 🙂

So, why do you think I asked then?
Look, what kind of theory is this you're laying out? Is this just something you cooked up yourself, or did you actually read this somewhere?

Sorry to butt in here, but—could someone please explain the actual difference between emotions and feelings? I’m a bit lost. Thanks.

it’d be fair to say I am,

but, honestly, dammit,
we actually got the asphalt laid last week😁

🙂 you're one of those people who acts like they're too sophisticated for anything outside of Europe, thinking you should eat some processed pills instead of real cheese, cream, and sausage? I know your type. And what exactly do you think you're going to be doing—growing pills instead of crops? 🙂 Everything is getting paved over and cars are being driven all the way out to the middle of nowhere... 🙂 🙂

hollowviper72 said:So we need spiritual ground now? Good grief, I suppose we'll need spiritual cows to produce spiritual manure. And they probably spend all winter eating spiritual straw. To make that happen, I guess we’re going to need some spiritual farmers.

Hmm.

Whatever. We'll figure it out somehow. 😛

Well, I guess I'll just upgrade my farmers to spiritual farmers. They already think I'm a witch anyway. 😁
(though I was actually thinking about that joke where you get taller if you get caught in the rain instead of catching a cold)

Walter said:I suppose you could argue that spiritual growth is nothing more than a byproduct of what we consume internally, but if we’re being honest, the most vital element is having the right kind of spiritual nourishment. I mean, it sounds a bit cliché, doesn't it? But maybe there's some truth to it. You can't expect to evolve if you aren't feeding your soul the right stuff. It's like trying to run a marathon on nothing but junk food—it just isn't going to work, no matter how much you want it to. Everything comes down to that fundamental sustenance.

It’s just one more bit of spiritual rain. I guess you could call it that, if you want to be poetic about how everything keeps coming down on us at once. Maybe it's just fate, or maybe we're just being tested again. It feels like we can't catch a break.

Sarah Allen51 said:Dammit, they just didn't have any luck.😁

Look, I don't really care—whether it's worms or some guy. Still, everyone seems so obsessed with looking out for people, so I guess I'll just take my chances by looking out for a family of worms instead.
Would you be an organ donor? in Miscellaneous ·
Sarah Allen51 said:Absolutely. I mean, why wouldn't you pull the trigger if it actually meant saving someone's life?

But then you have an entire family of little worms left starving, and who knows, maybe they'll even die from it...

Fine. Regardless, I have absolutely no intention of donating my organs. 👋

Charles Scott84 said:Look, let’s say some tragedy occurs and you pass away, leaving behind certain organs—most of them, actually—that are perfectly intact. Your family will be asked if they want to donate those parts to save someone else's life. You have to realize that you personally won't need those organs anymore, and there is something genuinely beautiful about the idea that even after you're gone, your heart keeps beating. Isn't that right?

No.
And I suppose I could actually provide a logical argument for why those organs aren't "needed" by me anymore.

boldsailor32 said:Soak the beans overnight.

Then boil them in a pot with plenty of water and a pinch of salt.

Once they're cooked, transfer them to a deep pan, add some olive oil that's been infused with medicinal Mediterranean herbs, and a little bit of Stella.

While they're simmering, keep adding beer until the beans completely break down, then taper off the beer so the mixture stays almost entirely dry...

Mmmmmm... 🙂

Are you some kind of wizard or something??? You act exactly how you always do—you post a recipe, but you leave out all the crucial details. Someone trying to make decent beans following this is going to end up with some watery soup that causes nothing but an upset stomach, instead of a satisfyingly full belly and those heavy winds from behind that can perform their own kind of magic—and then you just toss it out there for everyone to see.

An anti-ad is still just an ad—that’s some hard-earned wisdom I picked up from years on the job. It’s all part of the same game. When you see that whole "the world is ending and everything is falling apart because I use hairspray, or because certain religious groups are a threat to humanity, or maybe it's just the people working at McDonald's" approach, that entire narrative is actually a pitch for every single thing mentioned. It keeps everyone trapped in the same loop, obsessing over the same nonsense, never seeing anything beyond their TV screens.
It reminds me of those old songs by Ben & Jerry's. Everyone is talking about the exact same topics, using that same tired "well, excuse me, I don't do it that way... I do it this way..." attitude. Personally, I've had enough, thanks.

Paul Campbell3 said:Look, this conversation belongs in a completely different thread. But clearly, you and I aren't even living on the same planet.😁
The sheer amount of depression, aimlessness, and total ignorance of basic reality—combined with this modern "collective delusion"—is unprecedented. Honestly, we didn't even see this level of dysfunction back in the Middle Ages.

Are we really supposed to believe that measuring human progress just by scientific breakthroughs and tech advancements is actually valid?

I don't know, I think there has always been depression, confusion, and a lack of fundamental understanding. The only real difference is that there are way more people now, and since communication is lightning fast, everything just becomes much more visible.
