Childhood trauma is real. Our old landlord had this grating, shrill voice and a tiny dimple on her chin; she always smelled like sour sauerkraut and would show up every damn afternoon just to harass my mom.
To this day, seeing a dimple like that just grossed me out, and I can still hear that woman's screeching in my head. In that part where the lyrics go "she knew how to stroke," I just picture her stroking that cursed little hole in her chin herself.
*Except for Nicole Baker*, she actually looks pretty cute, so it works for her. 😍
Apple and I are just tearing each other apart, reminiscing about the most annoying American pop songs ever made. 😬
Apple:
She had a little
Rose
She knew how to purr
She knew how to scratch
Carol Jackson45:
Man
Without strength
I wouldn't be me
If you
Had stayed with me
Alright, let's hear yours! 🤣
Looks pretty unappetizing to me. 😳

🙂
He's all smiles and whatnot. 🙂 🙂
Dana Anderson4 said:And one actually funny bit to wrap things up since we're talking origins... I stumbled upon this hilarious hole in a book I was reading recently (all the way from here to Lepant).
Americans are basically just Poles who actually hit the jackpot.😁
😬
Just wanted to drop the years those official records actually date back to. bases Which School of Architecture actually teaches interior design?
1951Even if they're part of it, it's still way too much. 🤣 🤣 🤣
What makes them so flashy, though? How can you even tell they're posers?🙄
Drew Adams58 said:1. Basically, man, just look at who can actually afford this stuff.
Man, honestly, you're right. For me, nobody can touch that sun and ocean vibe.😛
Drew Adams58 said:How to spot a Splitter on the subway—just listen to them talking.
See, you're proving my point. But don't be like that, you'll offend the Dubrovnik residents too.😬
My post wasn't supposed to be funny, it was supposed to be pissed off because I had to drag myself out of bed at 8 AM for work. It’s a damn Saturday and it’s cloudy too (yeah, you noticed). Don't question my sense of humor just because you think it should have been a joke 🙂
As for everything else, sure, it all depends on your perspective. Just like how we Americans are seen as icy hillbillies while we think of ourselves as warm, awesome, and spontaneous, they probably think they're spontaneous compared to, say, Germans, while looking at us as stubborn primitives who yell way too much.
But you're wrong if you think that viewpoint is just mine. For example, me and all my buddies from Miami—Chicago think we talk too quiet. On the flip side, to those same people, Southerners sound like we're screaming our heads off constantly. Generalizations come from a broad perspective, not just a subjective one.
Given all that, those generalizations above hold up. If people actually thought about where they came from, maybe they wouldn't complain about their accuracy so much 😉
And I'm not gonna eat you alive. I've been venting for four hours already, it's about time I quit 🙂
@ Nicholas Perez33, being proud of the city or country you come from is annoying regardless of where you're from. Is there anything stupider than being proud of the random patch of dirt your mother decided to spit you out onto?
Dana Anderson4 said:I guess I thought those dumb stereotypes like "Midwesterners have rosy cheeks, while Californians wear gold chains" were set in stone for everyone...😬
And I thought smart people understood that generalizations describe an average, not every single person, which makes them valid. 😛 The whole issue is just that you keep trying to rewrite them every five minutes. 😉
Like saying folks from rural Iowa make terrible wine. Yeah, right. 😬
You're not even close 😬
Moving on.
Things I can't stand about people from NYC:
1. being cold
2. zero sense of humor
3. being super touchy
4. that annoying hometown pride
Other things I hate about people from Miami:
1. being lazy
2. stubbornness
3. hating anything new
4. that same hometown pride
And the rest of the traits I hate about my college:
1. snobbery
2. acting superior for no reason
3. pure arrogance
In a bad mood today.
Traits I love about myself that drive everyone else crazy:
1. pessimism
2. cynicism
3. being high-strung
Dana Anderson4 said:anyone else remember that Arabella kids show from back in the day?😍
Looks like nobody actually read post number 4797 🙂...
Karen Flores34 said:hmm, kind of feels similar to me 😛
For me? It was just massive hype. Everyone watched it and thought it was hilarious, while I just found it stupid and boring.
PJ 👋 👋 👋
Karen Doyle2 😘
Total fail. How did we miss Alpha? 🤔
You guys could've finally checked out who Fraglik is. I'm sick of everyone giving me blank stares whenever I bring them up.
Angela Chavez36 said:Oh man, is that the Australian girl who used to move stuff around with that weird zipper thing?
aww 😍
hadn't thought about her in forever...
Yeah, I can't even remember what that zipper and bracelet were called... that bracelet had some tiny computer or something built into it...
She's practically a legend 🤣
I have a feeling you're gonna blow up any second now :Sismis:
Ugh, since we’re already talking about trash TV, we can't just ignore that total eyesore everyone sat through—Law in LA.
d.zelig said:That island show feels like some weird cult classic from Eastern Europe. Or maybe I'm just tripping. Whatever.
Yup, exactly... basically "you're on your own, join the club." 🙂
Just some Kids go camping and stumble onto a bunch of smugglers or something... 🤔
I should probably mention the Hawks too—total 80s deluxe vibes. 😍
Dr. Stein gives me actual nightmares 😱 😱 😱

brightridge19 said:If I remember right, crocodiles ate her up, but then some plastic surgeon fixed her up so well she came back unrecognizable—even to her husband. Now I'm getting mixed up... does she end up marrying the other woman or what? There was definitely some drama involved... 😬
He tossed her to the crocs and she came back looking flawless just to get revenge, yeah, but he fell for the new girl instead... Pretty sure she ends up with her surgeon in the end. 😁
Best childhood shows:
1. Smoggy (man, Dad 😍 was something else
) 2. Saved by the Bell
3. Arabela 4. Benja
4. Benji, Zax and the boy from space
Now for the real stuff:
1. Miami Vice (Don Johnson in those tacky sweaters, oh man 🙂 )
2. Law & Order (dun dun dunnnn... dun dun dunnnn... )
3. Moonlighting
4. Moonlighting 4. Grizzly Adams
pet said:Like I said, I don't really watch TV, let alone series. If I dig through my memory, the only show that actually made me sprint home from school was 'Return to Eden.' Those crocodile women... man, that was ages ago.
Yeah, Mary beat you to it 😬
I used to bolt home from elementary school just to catch Alexander from the Hamptons Quote 😍

Now you're bringing up old memories... remember when that local musician got busted with cocaine? The Washington Post ran that headline "White Božić"🤣
stormyviper11 said:For those out of the loop: I basically use my TV to watch Formula 1 every other weekend from spring through fall. In the winter, if I’m lucky, I catch some X Games. Since they aren't broadcasting it properly this year, I finally just gave up on the whole thing.
The TV is the first thing I turn on in the morning and the last thing I shut off at night. Call me a total TV junkie, but honestly? I don't even really "watch" anything. It’s just good background noise to wake me up or help me pass out.
