The herpes on my upper lip is still there; the scab just won't budge.
Woke up this morning with a flare-up right in the corner of my mouth.👎 😠 🙂 That makes three outbreaks in the last two months. 😲
I was definitely underdressed yesterday—just a skirt, a blouse 😵 and a decent jacket, but I was freezing all day. Between that and getting home so late at 11:00 PM... Maybe I caught a chill, because this little bastard popped up overnight. I was asleep, so there was no chance to fight it off with Virolex.
My diet is pretty balanced—moderate amounts of fruit, veggies, meat, and carbs.
George is 👍 , and his wife—the stunningly lovely Tanja Ribič 👍 The nuances of the local mindset are captured perfectly here 🙏 through that neighbor (a classic case of 😁 ), and through Shelly's family (the father, Sunday dinners, birthday parties 😂 😂 )

👍 👍
Even though I wasn't exactly a heavy smoker—I never smoked inside my house, though I certainly could have. Going without a smoke for a day or two? I still couldn't bring myself to do it. Giving up those little rituals—like having two or three cigarettes with coffee while catching up with someone... Honestly, my friends and I couldn't even imagine a night out on the town without a cigarette in hand. Sitting around... Coffee shops without smoking just weren't the same... etc.
I haven't smoked in eight months. No grand epiphany or major life decision involved. It just happened naturally through awareness and acceptance. A healthier lifestyle. I don't hang out at bars anymore, and I definitely don't party until dawn. I used to, though. More than fifteen years straight. 🙂 Honestly, I just don't have the energy for it anymore. I spend my weekends out in nature—hitting the coast in the summer, and now I'm off to hit the slopes. 😍 My boyfriend just told me he's happy to have a girlfriend. If she doesn't smoke, it actually works in his favor. It’s a total win. He cut back, even though he wasn't exactly a "full-time smoker."
Even at work—my boss and a colleague are already smoking while we drink our morning coffee. Coffee. ☕ And I'm just sitting here having breakfast. 😁 Yeah, I'm totally fine. 👍
frozenrider15 said:Look, if it helps at all, 😛as far as I recall, Virolex requires a prescription. It works for me too, but strictly during that initial breakout phase. If I don't "catch" it early—right when that tingling starts on my lip—it isn't much help. 😢
That’s why there are Virolex tablets—prescription only, but otherwise they're incredibly pricey. You have to ask a doctor for a script. Take one every four hours once the herpes starts "acting up." It works.🙏 That's just first aid. For prevention? Boosting immunity, overall balance, healthy eating, regular exercise, getting some fresh air, enough vitamins, minerals, hydration...😉
Virolex is based on Acyclovir. For me, just using Virolex cream isn't enough once the herpes starts breaking out. In this past year alone, I dealt with Herpes Simplex on my lip 4 or 5 times!!!!! 👎 (I went through a really rough, stressful period and my immune system just tanked...) It would be smart to have your doctor write you a prescription for Virolex tablets so you can start taking them IMMEDIATELY when you feel that slight itch, tingling, or redness on your lip. If you happen to be without them (for instance, I've been carrying Virolex cream and tablets in my purse every single day for months now... what kind of paranoia 😲 😁 ), then grab some ice, wrap it in a paper towel or a napkin, and hold it against the burning spot. It’s what they call 'ice therapy,' and it can actually stop it (it works).
You also need to change your diet—eat more fruit every day, vegetables, take some vitamin and mineral supplements, exercise, get some fresh air, and try to live healthy.👍
I was reading an interview in a magazine with a physician—a MD who teaches at the College of Sports in Chicago and serves as vice president of the European Association of Acupuncturists, plus he's a member of the French Association of Homeopaths and so on. He claims, among other things, that while saunas, massages, and hot tubs or swimming can be relaxing, achieving true wellness requires much more effort. You need to dedicate AT LEAST 3 TIMES a week ( 😲 ) to physical activity. We have to take care of ourselves; sometimes you have to push yourself and work hard just to feel better later.
Wishing you all peaceful and relaxing holiday days. 😍 🙂 🙂 😘 🥳 🙂

I'd take the fidgeting and a quiet life any day if that's the only thing I ever have to deal with. As long as that hell doesn't come back for me. Give my regards to your fellow foot-tapper.🙂
In my view, the healthiest option would be sticking to things like chicken or turkey, raised on a small family farm where the birds eat corn grown right there on the property—strictly non-GMO, obviously (that’s mission impossible 👎 )—or perhaps fresh fish caught from the ocean rather than anything from a commercial farm. etc. etc. etc. 🙄
I once bought one of those "orthopedic" pillows—it had this wavy shape, sort of a ridge followed by a dip, then another ridge, and I found it incredibly uncomfortable to sleep on. Now, I prefer a standard pillow that’s just slightly lofted. 🙂
Casey Palmer5, could you describe one of those exercises you mentioned earlier?-- the one that helps 'release' the tension in the neck muscles and tendons? thanks
I don't have any major issues, except that for several years now, I've felt this ache in my neck—on the back left side that radiates toward the base of my skull and down my lower left jaw. A few years ago, I went through all the tests—nothing specific turned up. Now, it flares up when I'm stressed, when I haven't slept enough, or if I've been carrying a heavy bag on my left shoulder. It's like the whole area feels sensitive— even around the sinus bones...😢
Ultimately, you can only fix these issues through consistent exercise. Backstroke, yoga, Pilates... pick one. 🙂
I tried Pilates once, and it just wasn't for me. We spent so much time in positions where my neck felt tense (half-lying, half-sitting) and I didn't feel particularly comfortable doing those types of movements.
I've never been one for journaling. Perhaps it might be interesting to start recording my thoughts. And then what? Once they're down on paper—do you read them immediately? Or...? 😕
I’ve read people claiming you should cut out sugar—meaning chocolate and so on. NO. 🙂 though it certainly feels great during a crisis. That approach spikes your blood sugar instantly, which boosts your mood, but then your levels crash just as fast.
The move is to stick to complex carbs—think whole grain bread, brown rice, etc.
Plus, eating plenty of fruits and vegetables is standard advice. Specifically—avocado, pineapple, bananas—since they boost serotonin and offer plenty of other perks.
Nuts like almonds, walnuts, or hazelnuts are also key, given they provide essential minerals like Magnesium.
Spinach, broccoli, lettuce, red cabbage, green beans...
