That’s what we need—well-maintained municipal basketball courts, soccer fields... then you'd see how huge the talent pool could actually be. Right now, sports are basically just for people with money, and there aren't many of those folks around here.
I agree with you. In our neighborhoods (especially over in Miami), free playgrounds are nonexistent. They built all these little fenced-in soccer cages that you have to pay to use, or they rent out elementary school gyms, while the few free spots we have are always packed.
Every one of our athletes had the chance to represent some other, wealthier nation.
And hey, good for them, I guess!
I don't hold anything against unnamed; he made his choice, but I'm definitely not going to be throwing him a parade for it.
This reminds me of some story I saw on TV. Some guy living up north... he says he dyed his hair blue, cheered for unknown, and still couldn't get a single date. Plus, he messed up his right hand working construction...
If anyone actually has to pack up and move, I’m heading straight to Brazil!!!!!
The acting and the soundtrack are actually solid.
Especially the music—that bit at the beginning and the end? Pretty good.
But man, the plot... it's just total filler. Probably the worst part of the whole thing.
A few of my buddies have the chance to head abroad, but they aren't really feeling it. Once you factor in the cost of living, the gap between what we make here and what they pay in the EU isn't even that huge.
People leaving nowadays would’ve gone regardless of the paycheck; this kind of movement is just how things work, I guess.
If I actually felt like it, maybe I’d move to somewhere like Mexico, but who wants to deal with all that nonsense over there?
I mean, what’s the point of chasing some higher salary when you could be out in the sun twelve months a year, drinking and hanging with friends?

The only one left from the original lineup is Daniel Biffel.
I mean, there's no way they just broke up and stopped playing, only to suddenly start popping up in the media lately... even hitting some of those top charts.
I just assumed they were still playing some small gigs around New York City, I guess...

Man, you’re just a total zero. You clearly don't have a clue what's actually going on. 🙂
First, I grabbed some tracks online—not exactly smart, I know, but I had to—then I saw that clip you posted. She called him fat, but then lately, there’s this song on the radio featuring Arsen... and man, that sound just blew me away.
The whole album is solid. I’d love to catch them live sometime.
Honestly, I was just sitting here waiting for them to tour through San Francisco this winter.
There’s this club in San Francisco—Hey Joe—where basically everyone has been playing all winter. Famous acts, local bands, whoever. I was really counting on them showing up so I could finally hear them in person.
And nothing.
They play well, sure, but they seem pretty lazy to me.
Do these guys even play shows anywhere anymore??????????
Bruce Lee
How could you even forget him? Everyone else is just an amateur compared to him!!!!

and there've probably been a million threads about this already.....☕
.....wasn't really keeping up, sorry....
You probably haven't seen the movie yet. It just premiered a few days ago, maybe even sooner... anyway... I was reading about him in The New York Times recently and decided I had to catch it in theaters as soon as it dropped.
It’s my kind of music. If Miller actually managed to capture the vibe of that era on screen, then he’s got my vote.
The big question is whether he actually had enough material to work with, and if he’s even got the touch for this kind of thing.
I'm pretty sure the soundtrack is going to be killer, though.
I feel like things were better back in the day. Nowadays, when I go to a concert, there’s none of that hype, none of that feeling of waiting for a spectacle... that sense of being on the edge of your seat waiting for it to start.
If you've seen it, don't give away the plot. Just give me a rating—was it good or not?
Is there even a band out there that can set a decent mood without forcing people at a wedding to endure endless polka or some other weird, frantic nonsense?
In all my years of dragging myself to weddings, I haven’t seen it happen once.
I was just wondering what my own wedding would look like, if I ever actually have one... I guess a solid DJ who actually knows how to pick songs everyone likes would be a total win. But honestly, why follow the crowd? Everyone should be allowed to throw their party exactly how they want.

Are you crazy or just waking up from a coma? When did it ever actually stop? 😁 😂
Maybe I'm wrong, but it feels like there's been less of it over the last three years. Maybe I just hang out with too many Republicans.😉
Rocky said:There’s also the other side of things. I’ve heard stories about how companies in the States won't hire someone actually qualified just because they want to play favorites—hiring a buddy or a cousin to make it look legitimate.
I don't know if it's true, but I guess it's possible.
We’re just stuck in this small-town mindset...
We'll stay stuck in this loser mentality as long as we keep believing that's just how things work...
Maybe it's finally time for some new blood to step up.
How can you even call that normal? I mean, some people actually still hold out hope that we’ll one day live in a country where there's actual order, and where people get judged on what they can actually do instead of who they know.
.
Elections are over. I'm satisfied. It’s all right-wing from top to bottom. Voted Libertarian, but hey, at least the Democrats are out.
Ran into a buddy of mine a few days ago—he's originally from Imotkin—and he tells me... wow, his guys won. Now he's got a cousin working in some government department who's gonna land him a job at the airport, maintenance or something. Good pay too, like maybe $1,200 a week. Everything's looking up, apparently.
So I'm sitting there thinking, what was the point of me grinding through college?
The guy barely finished high school and isn't even qualified for the work. Honestly, it feels like everything is just sliding back to how it used to be. As long as you have the right connections, that's all that matters.
We were actually hoping for something better. I'm bitter about it. I really hope this is just one weird exception that doesn't prove the rule, because if it does....
