How to perform a proper breast self-exam? in Women's Health ·
Could someone please recommend some private clinics in Washington, D.C. that specialize in breast exams? I am looking for the specific clinic names and, if possible, their addresses. Also, how does the scheduling work at private practices—is the wait time significantly shorter than at public hospitals? Thanks in advance.

The Barber of Siberia in Movies ·
Does anyone happen to know if any video rental shop in the Washington, D.C. area carries a copy of The Barber of Seville? If someone could be so kind as to provide the name of the establishment and its street address, I would be most grateful.

So, I hit the gym today. I was on the treadmill using one of those finger-clip pulse oximeters to track my heart rate. Everything seemed standard initially; as I ramped up the pace, my heart rate climbed steadily, maybe increasing by three or four beats at a time. Then, right toward the end, that pain flared up again. My heart rate had hit about 175—I was running pretty fast—and then, suddenly, it plummeted to around 95. Is such a rapid drop in heart rate actually normal, especially occurring precisely when I feel that pain?😕One more thing: I am in excellent physical condition. I can increase my speed easily and maintain it for long stretches. Furthermore, when that pain strikes, I am not gasping for air or struggling to hold a conversation.

I am not sure why I would be cramping. My fitness levels are quite high. I don't run excessively either; I typically run for twenty minutes, increasing my pace every five minutes. The pain usually sets in between the tenth and fifteenth minute, then subsides. Also, what does staying out of the anaerobic zone actually entail?🤷

So, here’s the situation. During my workouts—specifically when I ramp up the pace on the treadmill at the gym—I occasionally experience a sharp pain just below my left ear. It then radiates down the left side of my neck, moves toward my shoulder, and settles slightly below it. Does anyone have any insight into what might be causing this?

If you don't have those specific oils on hand, honey or olive oil will suffice as an alternative.

Good for you. It’s strange how some people lose weight during college while others just balloon up. Every student I know seems to have shrunk by half, yet since I started my degree, I’ve put on 25 damn pounds just from mindless snacking. 😢 It’s all because of the sheer stress this university life causes me.
I gained 6 pounds, but I've managed to drop them all since New Year's Day 🙂

I’m in the exact same boat. I was watching Oprah earlier today, and she made a point about how if you just stick to milk and cereal for breakfast, you'll be starving within an hour. It provides zero sustained energy. You need foods packed with fiber—I can't recall the specific list right now, though. Personally, I’ve decided to cut out bread and anything sugary altogether. I've been following a blood type diet, which suggests that flour and bread products are my biggest triggers for weight gain. I also make sure not to eat dinner at all. And definitely get some kind of workout in, maybe aerobics or Tae Bo. Good luck 😉

I see no reason to get worked up. Thank God I still have the capacity to maintain control over all of this. Still, have you considered talking to someone close to you about what you're going through? Someone who could just pull you away from those doors, give you a hug, and try to ground you? I was watching this documentary about this specific disorder recently—this woman was dealing with something remarkably similar to your situation. She mentioned feeling like she was on the verge of a total nervous breakdown if she ever stopped her compulsions. Her psychiatrist told her there was no other way: she had to gradually phase out the behaviors, no matter how difficult it felt. The woman also struggled with hoarding tendencies; she found it physically impossible to throw anything away. Her doctor suggested the first step toward recovery was to simply toss a box of items into the trash. The poor woman was hit with such intense panic that she just gave up on treatment entirely.

Eve pulled this topic out of thin air, I have no idea where from. Anyway, analogpuma8, you know how I used to deal with things like this. Every single time I drank water, I had to consume a specific number of gulps. I had to place certain objects at an exact angle in a precise spot. Then there was the hoarding—keeping useless scraps of paper and random little trinkets because I was terrified of throwing them away. When I drove, I’d find myself counting the dashed white lines on the highway, forced to reach a specific number I’d set in my head. Even when journaling, I always started with the exact same sentence (I still do 🙄). If I prayed, I had to repeat the prayer a set number of times. It all stemmed from this deep-seated fear that if I didn't do these things, something terrible would happen in my life. analogpuma8, you just have to stop. Here is the trick: regarding my obsession with keeping junk, I once took an item and tossed it in the trash—feeling absolutely miserable about separating myself from it, of course—but I quickly forced my mind onto something else and performed a different task to distract myself. There is no other cure. You simply have to break the cycle and accept whatever comes your way...
