You find a bit of hope, a little encouragement, and sometimes you let yourself imagine the best... when I hear someone else dealt with a temperature spike just like I did, it honestly makes me feel a little more optimistic...
I've been taking so many tests lately that I'm starting to dread doing them... I try not to dwell on it during the day (though that's easier said than done 😉)...
My appointment is on November 20th, and I'm just hoping I can stay composed until then 😍

Thank you all, you've been wonderful. I promise that as soon as I see that positive result, I'll come back and share everything, hoping to encourage someone else just like you have encouraged me...
🙏 🙏 🙏

You know we're exactly the same! 😍
I’m struggling so much right now. Just counting down the days until my test at the end of the week... I feel like I'm losing it. On Thursday, I had some reddish-brown and pink discharge along with a slight fever. Nothing since then, though.
boldheron48 said:Hi everyone!!!

My partner and I have been trying for over a year now. The main challenge is that he works away from home quite a bit, so we aren't together as often as we'd like. We’ve run all the tests and everything looks fine, except for some Ureaplasma I have. My doctor prescribed antibiotics, but since there's a chance I might already be pregnant, I'm holding off on taking them until I know for sure...
He should be back around November 20th, but my temperature has been hovering between 98.6 and 99.3 lately, even though I don't feel sick at all... I haven't been tracking my basal body temperature, just checking it a few times throughout the day. Since I've never done this before, I'm not sure if this is normal or if there's a real chance...
I read online that a slight temperature rise can be a symptom, so I'd love to hear about your experiences!

My breasts have also gotten about half a cup size larger, though they aren't particularly sore... Has anyone else experienced these kinds of temperature shifts as a sign of pregnancy?

Thanks for any insight you can share. Wishing everyone the best—whether you're currently expecting or still hoping to conceive!!!

I should also mention that my discharge has increased lately, and I felt a little itchy today too? It doesn't have an odor, though...

Hey, I've been running a fever too. It gets worse when I'm feeling overheated for no reason at all. Really hoping for good news for you!😉
It’s the 23rd, and I’m seeing this brownish-red discharge on the toilet paper. It’s not much, but enough that I actually wondered if I should grab a pad or if my period was finally starting. It happened a few times last night and once again this morning. Sometimes it looks brownish, other times it’s more of a light pink. Still no actual flow yet. Has anyone else dealt with spotting during implantation? Does it look like this?

Jose Martin7 said:Hey everyone! So, I’ve been dealing with OCD for quite a long time now. There is just one thing I can't stop wondering about... I guess I'm curious if any of you experienced a significant blow to the head during your childhood or perhaps later on? I am really trying to pinpoint a potential root cause for everything, and since I can't find anything obvious, it crossed my mind that maybe there's a connection. I actually had a pretty nasty hit to the head when I was a kid—thankfully, it wasn't a concussion, but it was definitely hard enough to crack my forehead wide open. 🙂 Please, if you have any thoughts or experiences, let me know...

People always ask me that same question. I always give them the same answer: no, there was never any head injury.

My symptoms from the Democratic Party are always worst in the evening, so I go for long walks through the city. It helps keep things at a minimum.
I’ve read everything here, and honestly, the advice is spot on.
I actually enrolled in a college program I was totally in love with, even though there were certain classes that just didn't interest me at all. But I knew what my end goal was. Back then, I’d show up to campus regularly, see everyone else struggling through the same stuff but still making it happen, and that kept me going. Then I'd head home and settle in. There were months where I wouldn't even touch a textbook, but I have to admit, my mom was incredibly persistent about pushing me to study. It paid off. Even though I used to get so annoyed with her, I see now how much she helped me.
It wasn't easy. When I finally decided to buckle down, I’d make a study plan, eat healthy, grab a coffee to wake up, set a schedule, and give myself little rewards during breaks—like watching a show or chatting with a friend. That’s how I made progress.
If you're still in your freshman year and you realize you truly aren't interested in your major, I don't think you lose anything by switching to something you actually care about.
Or just sign up for a language class, or maybe hit the gym if that sounds fun. You'll meet people with similar interests, which leads to good conversations and friendships. I know how it feels. It's hard to make that first move, but you're still young. You have time. Now is the perfect moment for this.
I know that just lying around and feeling sorry for yourself doesn't help; it just drags you deeper into a funk. I've been in your shoes so many times. But you're the one building your own life, and you just need to remember that it's never too late to take action. Good luck! 👍

Olivia Rivera77 said:Sending good vibes your way too... even though I'm doing better now, thank God, I know people tend to find this stuff ridiculous. But only those of us actually living through it understand how heavy it really feels. My husband has told me a hundred times, "Just stop doing it," but it doesn't work like that... you know what I mean, right?🤷How would you describe the sensation? Are you pulling with your fingers or ?? all the way down? Sending lots of love.....🙂

I pick at it with my fingers. Sometimes I'd go deeper. But thank God, that's behind me now. It’s just this sudden urge, this compulsion to pick, and I can't stop myself. Only after I give in does the impulse fade. But then the guilt kicks in about having done it, which creates more anxiety, which brings the impulse back. It’s just a cycle. It started when I was 12. Back then, I was diagnosed with anxiety and social phobia. Basically, I was using the picking to soothe all that anxiety I felt all these years. It started when I was just an innocent kid who didn't understand what was happening to me. I just knew I couldn't stop.
Things have been much better these last few months, though. Maybe the antidepressants helped lower my anxiety, so the urge isn't there as much. Since the unhealthy, unnecessary anxiety is gone, the picking is gone too. I don't even have panic attacks anymore. Honestly, if I have to take this medication for the rest of my life, I don't mind. As long as I feel better.

Olivia Rivera77 said:Hey, can someone please reach out if you’re dealing with the same thing I am? I honestly feel like I’m losing my grip on reality... For four years now, I’ve been fighting these intrusive thoughts that are seriously wrecking my daily life. They are absolutely horrific, and frankly, I’m too ashamed to even type out what they’re actually about. 😛I’ve been seeing a psychiatrist and taking medication for about ten months now, but I haven't seen much of an improvement. If anything, the meds just take the edge off so I can handle them slightly better, but otherwise, I’m just sitting here crying and wondering why this is happening to me. I’m a mom now, and I just want to live a decent, quality life. I’m 25, naturally pretty insecure, and pretty shy... how do I help myself? Please, if anyone is going through this exact same hell, let me know...

I struggled for a long time too. Spent hours just crying. It looks like you're doing better since starting antidepressants. I'm glad.🙂

I know none of these OCD struggles are easy, but honestly, sometimes I’d give anything to be in your shoes. I've been dealing with trichotillomania—a type of OCD where I pull out my eyelashes and eyebrows—for 15 years now. To be fair, things have improved a bit since I started taking antidepressants... though I should probably clarify that things are actually much better. Still, there are these sudden waves of anxiety where I start pulling again. It's hard. It isn't always that overwhelming urge you just can't fight off, but it happens.

Reading through your posts, I see so many great insights here. Really well said, ladies!

Olivia Rivera77 said:Wait, how? And what exactly do you mean by "AD"? I'm currently on Zoloft...🤷

I've been on Paxil for years now. I still don't really feel that spark, but at least I can manage it. It's a huge difference... I'm finally the one in control, not the meds.

My OCD is finally almost completely gone with the help of the AD. Finally!
Man 😲 it’s so similar to this, except I’m actually flying inside it!! It feels just like watching this, even though my screen is black and white and made of blocks.

Gary James88 said:Not every psychiatrist or psychologist is actually a psychotherapist. That’s why seeing them isn't always the same thing as undergoing therapy. If you aren't there on a specific referral for "psychotherapy," you aren't really doing therapy at all; you're just getting a status check, some brief advice, or a prescription from a psychiatrist.

I saw a psychotherapist once, and after about ten sessions, she basically told me I didn't need to come back anymore!! 😲 👎
I was seeing this specialist privately, then asked if I could switch to his clinic where he works. He said okay, but honestly, it felt just as low-quality either way.

I’ve noticed things get way worse when I'm physically exhausted, not just mentally. I tried going to therapy, but honestly, I'm getting nothing out of it. It feels pointless. Like, what am I even supposed to say? I tell him my problems and he just repeats them back to me. Then he tells me to just stick with the antidepressants, so I basically gave up on sessions that last maybe ten minutes anyway—not because I wanted to, but because of him. Usually, it's just him typing away on some ancient typewriter while I talk.
For anyone struggling with insomnia in Psychology ·
crimsontiger97 said:I’ve been dealing with insomnia for twelve full years now. There are times when I won't close my eyes for several nights in a row—which, if you haven't experienced it, is probably the most horrific sensation imaginable. You end up lying in bed feeling absolutely drained, and all you can think about is how much you *need* to fall asleep before you lose your mind... and then, because of that exact stress and pressure, you can't sleep at all. Anyone who hasn't gone through this truly doesn't understand how miserable it is.
I usually wait until I haven't slept for a few days before I even consider taking a pill, mostly because I really don't want to become dependent on them. Though, sometimes, even with medication, I still can't drift off.
Then, every once in a while, I'll hit a stretch of a few months where I sleep like a baby... every single night, I lay down and I'm out in five minutes.
I am so incredibly curious about what might be causing my insomnia. I can't seem to link it to any specific event. My life is pretty standard, really—nothing particularly stressful or extreme going on.
So, that's a bit about me to get things started.
I'd love to hear about your experiences!

I went through the exact same thing. But since starting antidepressants, things have finally settled down. At least for now.

I wouldn't recommend them. I was on Sanvale for a bit, but I’d wake up feeling absolutely exhausted... my doctor said that's just how they work. Maybe try Persen instead? 👍

Richard Davis91 said:For me, it manifested through compulsive shopping. I’d have enough money set aside for groceries and my rent, but instead, I’d tell myself I ABSOLUTELY HAD to buy something—like a new perfume or a piece of clothing. It was the exact same sensation: that brief flash of relief followed by heavy guilt. Fortunately, after years of working with a therapist, I have better control now. I still stumble occasionally, but at least I recognize why it's happening. In my experience, nothing beats actual psychotherapy with a professional.👍

Thanks! I'm heading to my session now. Fingers crossed I see results similar to yours! xoxo

It looks like they’re finally grouping trichotillomania in with OCD, so we’re basically in the same boat. Honestly, I think this should have happened a long time ago. Does anyone else feel that overwhelming urge where you just can't fight it? You give in, get that momentary relief, but then the guilt hits and drags you right back into the cycle. It’s such a vicious loop. I've been stuck in this struggle for 15 years now. This dark force... it's called trichotillomania.

Donna Sullivan7 said:She thinks she’s some kind of genius, but honestly...
she just can't stop meddling and judging everyone else.
Zero clue what's actually going on in the real world.
Her tongue is sharp, too... way too much attitude.
Everything is such a struggle for her (always playing the victim, refusing help but complaining about it anyway)
She wants to call all the shots, but it just won't happen.
Superficial as hell when you talk to her—it's like she's only listening to herself.
Those Sunday family dinners have become so exhausting I've had to start skipping them more often...

Ugh, I feel this so much. I only got a job after finishing my degree, trying to be super careful with money even when I was just making minimum wage as an intern. Now that I finally have a real career, it doesn't matter how much I earn because everything I spend is basically what she invested in me over the years.
No matter what I say, she twists my words to attack me or acts like I'm just being "grateful." I try, though. My therapist told me to use a mantra: it's not her fault, her upbringing made her this way, she isn't a bad person. It worked for a while, but not anymore.
How am I supposed to believe in myself when she’s spent my whole life telling me I’m incompetent and labeling me with all these negative things? I’m planning to get married and move out next year... should I just endure this for a little longer?

Yeah, and she even messed with my relationship. She only defended my partner because she hates the city he's from (it's a diverse area, but she doesn't care that I'm in love and he's actually everything I ever wanted in an American spouse!) but I didn't let her get to me, and now I'm the happiest person alive!
I'm going through the exact same thing! It started back when I was a kid and had a fever. Now, it pops up in those same situations you mentioned. For me, they look like big squares appearing just like how you described. I don't let it worry me too much... but I am curious about what's actually happening.

You'll look up at the sky in awe and say, "I've never seen blue like this before."
It's special.
The night will have its own magic.
Everything will feel like paradise.🙂

God, I actually thought the exact same thing about the sky the other day!! After being on antidepressants for a month. It really does get better. You just feel calmer, more content, and everything starts making sense again. I think people who are super tense or anxious tend to take themselves way too seriously, overthinking every little thing... but now, for the first time ever, I’m actually enjoying the moment. No fear about the future, no dragging the past along.
As for the meaning of life, as a believer, I already know it. Sometimes I ask questions, but deep down, I already feel the answer.
