One slice of bread with pâté is enough. Plus, we're talking about junk food; honestly, sandwiches and Twix bars aren't actual food, they're just straight-up garbage.
Exactly, everything he’s eating is basically carcinogenic. Even if he were skinny, he’d still need to overhaul his entire diet.
lonefox7 said:The biggest thing you can do right away is just cut back on—or totally ditch—refined junk. We're talking white flour, white sugar, processed oils, all that stuff. Try to stick to lean proteins like chicken, turkey, or veal, and honestly, steaming or boiling your food is usually better than frying it. You really want to load up on fruits and veggies and aim for about five smaller meals throughout the day. Instead of grabbing a Twix, why not grab some fruit, yogurt, or maybe some whole grain cookies? Even CVS carries those chocolate treats that aren't loaded with calories. And please, stay away from those sodas that are basically liquid sugar. Don't go banning everything you love, though, because that just makes you crave it more; just treat yourself to a little chocolate once a month or something.
For getting moving, walking is your best bet to start out. Just head to a local park and wander around (it’s even better if you have a dog!), or maybe hop on a bike. You don't even need a gym membership; you can totally work out at home.
The real secret is staying consistent and setting goals you can actually hit so you don't lose steam.
If your metabolism is acting up, a doctor might suggest weight loss meds, but that should be a last resort since they aren't exactly risk-free.
I've got some extra weight to lose myself, and I've been eating clean and walking every single day for over a year now. I squeeze in workouts whenever I can too, whether it's the elliptical or those old Cindy Crawford DVDs, and I can definitely see the progress. I stopped weighing myself, so I don't know the exact number, but my clothes fit differently and people have definitely noticed. The best way I've found to eat is following the UN guidelines, because nothing is off-limits and the portions feel just right.
Just stay brave and don't quit on yourself.
I couldn't agree more!
I'll just add that you can still have something sweet, as long as you're using fructose, honey, or maybe Maltex instead. Just stay far away from that white sugar.

I'm pivoting to the gym instead
Anyone got a solid program they can recommend?
My cousin dropped a ton of weight in just one year—he used to be pretty heavy too, but after a year, you could actually see his abs starting to show
Now I can't even get a hold of him because he moved out to work in Canada
And this whole thing about feeling ashamed is seriously messed up
Like, would you rather feel embarrassed for two hours a day while working on it, or just deal with the shame for the rest of your life?
I'm gonna try to figure something out
Just go ride a bike or hit some hiking trails. Besides, public pools are pretty gross no matter how much chlorine they dump in them.

I actually took that for three years straight and ended up with gastritis because it’s such a heavy hitter. Now, I can't even handle any period pain meds without throwing up everything I swallow.
But hey, I finally found a way to kick those cramps to the curb:
For three days leading up to my period and then during the actual days, you have to cut out all the sweets. Sugar and anything else sugary just makes the pain flare up more. You should stay away from greasy food too. Stick to light stuff that won't weigh your system down.
For instance, on those days, I'll just have some yogurt and stick to black bread with butter. I've been living this way for years now; back in the day, about eight years ago, my periods were absolutely brutal with vomiting and all that mess.
Also, exercise is hands down the best thing for pain. Personally, I love hiking.

hold on there, buddy, maybe you'll have me waiting for you too😁
Hey, Mark Davis14, you could totally use some auto-suggestion to win her over. Why aren't you putting in the work with that?

You can't say never, right? 😎
Stana said:....yeah, I'm feeling it too....it's not even like I have an issue with women specifically....I love joking around, being a bit of a smartass, all that stuff, and I'm totally down for it when I'm actually out on the town, you know? But man, this boredom and loneliness just kills me....too much time spent overthinking things because there's just way too much empty time on my hands.....and another thing...if I really wanted to find a girlfriend, I could, but I told myself I'm not doing anything until I've got some real money coming in..just total abstinence for now...
well then go find yourself a rich girl...
Edward Turner27 said:So... why didn't they just reset the whole database back to the last backup? Half the threads are working and the other half are totally broken, so why does this database keep crashing on us so much more often than it should?
🙄
honestly, we should just hire Edward Turner27. he'll get this sorted out in no time!
Hey kid, check out what this other guy on the forum had to say about it:
username gandharve:
"I was chatting with an expert in this field regarding the whole topic of suicide: an Indian yoga master, a guy born with abilities we’re all just trying to practice up in this life or the next, someone who really knows his stuff.
He told me:
Every single one of us possesses both a physical body and an energetic body. As long as you're living a normal life, that energetic body keeps charging up and discharging based on the state of our chakras—our energy centers. Every time we lose our cool or get stuck in a 'negative' headspace, those chakras slam shut and the energy flow stops. But when we open ourselves up—say, through prayer, meditation, or just immersing ourselves in art, beauty, and love—those chakras open back up, letting the energy flow. This continues until our energy slowly runs dry—it gets spent, sooner for some and later for others, leading to death. Everyone decides their own timing:
If you close off, the energy stops flowing and no new energy comes in, so you (your physical body) just burn through your reserves. If you stay open, you receive new energy—you're basically extending your life. It's entirely up to the individual.
The moment someone takes their own life, that connection between the physical and the energetic body is severed. The link breaks between the producer of energy (the energetic body and the chakras) and the consumer of energy (our physical body).
There’s no way to spend any more of that stored-up energy because the consumer is now lying in the ground rotting, while we (the energetic body) wander the astral plane without our senses—our nose stays tied to the body, our eyes too, our sense of touch, taste, smell, everything is still linked to the flesh.
And here's the kicker:
The consciousness that is part of us remains with us (yeah, at least it does) until the very moment that energy finally runs out, and just imagine:
Suppose we're meant to live, say, 80 years using that energy via our physical bodies, but we destroy the body early; we're left wandering the astral plane for maybe another 700 or 900 years until our internal capacitor finally drains completely.
With full awareness of our existence, of everything we've done and everything we've done to others, both the good and the bad...
It's the one thing you can't run away from...
That's why suicide is the absolute worst sin a person can commit against themselves."
So, go ahead, be a fool and see if what this guy is saying holds water.
Anna said:have you tried it?
it would be awesome if I could somehow let you guys know, maybe it'll be cool..
A buddy of mine actually tried it. He swallowed a bunch of pills and pesticides, thinking he’d just drift off into a deep sleep and never wake up... but obviously, that wasn't how it went down at all, since his brain basically melted and he ended up dying in total agony.
I am never going to be able to get the memory of his death out of my head!
Look, kid,
suicide actually hurts!
It’s definitely not this magical "close your eyes and everything goes dark" thing.
And honestly, who’s giving you any kind of guarantee that there isn't something waiting for you on the other side?
Who even knows where your soul ends up? For all you know, what comes after death could be way more intense than what you're dealing with right now...
There's just no promise that death is any better than staying alive.
