Are you a morning person or not? in Health ·
Noah Harris50 said:Woke up at 7, it’s 8:34 now, and even after getting eight hours, I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. I’ve already downed a huge glass of water, two coffees, and breakfast, but I’m still totally out of it.
It made me wonder—are you guys actually alert in the morning? How long does it take for you to fully wake up, and what actually works for you? I always feel exhausted, whether I slept a little or a lot. Mornings are just the worst for me.
On top of that, I stay wide awake at night, so it takes forever to fall asleep.

I can say that I tend to snap out of it pretty fast.
If I'm in my own space in the morning rather than being at work, I'll be grumpy for a little bit. It’s a weird phenomenon. I’ve tried to figure out why I’m so cranky right after sleeping, but I can't pin it down. It’s not like I’m mad at the world just because I have to get up; it just happens.
I don't need coffee, tea, or anything else to wake up. Most of those things are just hype if you ask me.
But I have noticed that I move a bit slower in the morning and my brain stays on standby for a while until it finally kicks in.😁
Unbelievable, but true.😁
Hot vs. cold showers: what's your take? in Health ·
Lisa Adams said:I don't get how anyone survives without it. 😁

I manage fine without it, honestly. I don't need it to live my life.😁 I’m always freezing anyway, so I usually just mess around with the shower temperature until I hit my limit.
I love hot water.😁 😁
Now I'm actually shivering just thinking about it.

Virolex requires a prescription, but if you can't be bothered with that, just go swallow 50 fish instead.

velvetwolf92 said:Thanks! Does anyone know where I can find cold-pressed sunflower oil? I've checked a few local grocery stores, but no luck. I don't want to drop a fortune on fancy oils while I'm still learning the ropes, but I also don't want to be massaging people with total junk.
I'm planning on doing aromatherapy massage—so essential oils will be part of it—but I'll mostly be focusing on reflexology and intuitive massage.
Thanks again

I'm not sure about the sunflower oil. Honestly, I just massage with whatever is on hand, basically whatever works best for the client.
For me, those oils from Whole Foods are the best; they're high quality, you don't need much, and the skin absorbs them quickly.
If someone has sensitive skin, I usually stick to Nivea or Johnson's baby oil.
Over at that boutique shop in the mall, the lady there can actually whip up a custom massage oil in a small bottle just for you. She takes a base oil and mixes in a few essential oils based on what you pick out.
To be honest, I've never even heard of that sunflower oil before.😕

Depends on what kind of massage you're looking for. If you're going for medical, first thing is to
get those muscles supporting the spine active—the ones on either side of the vertebrae. 😁 Use your thumbs to make strokes moving from the base of the skull down toward the tailbone. Actually, wait—remember that movements should always go from the lower body up toward the head to help blood flow upward.
Second, you can use a closed fist instead of just thumbs, but stay gentle. Never press directly on the spine or any bone; stick to the muscle.
Third, work on the lower spine area, specifically that triangular section right above the base of the glutes 😁 and give it a little massage.
After that, move to the muscles between the ribs. Spread your palm, slide your fingers between the ribs, and pull from the ribs toward the spine. Watch out, though; most people find that pretty ticklish.
Next, hit the area around the shoulder blade. A lot of people get myofascial trigger points there—little lumps you can feel under your fingers. They aren't dangerous, but they hurt when touched. A firmer massage helps break them up.
Once the shoulder blade is done, move to the neck and shoulders. You can get creative here with circular motions using your whole palms. Just be careful; the neck is sensitive and gets sore easily if someone has bad posture.
A few ground rules: always massage the right side before the left. Never massage anyone who is pregnant, has varicose veins, skin conditions, or open wounds.
For lubrication, you can use various oils or even a heavier massage cream.
There you go.👋

Alright experts, can someone give me a bit more depth on this beyond the basic "someone screams and everyone else joins in" explanation?

Hey there.
Do you happen to know if there's a sleep institute or something similar in Washington, D.C.?😁
Another quick question about sleep in Health ·
So, I’m assuming he’s dealing with that thing—I can't even remember the name—where you just stop breathing while you're asleep.
I figured this out because he’s pretty loud 😁 when he sleeps. Between the snoring and all the gurgling noises, it’s a lot. But then, suddenly, everything goes silent, and my brain basically sets off an alarm telling me something is wrong.
I started paying closer attention, and it seems like during deep sleep, his breathing just... stops. It’s almost like breathing isn't an automatic reflex for him anymore; he has to manually trigger it, so once he’s out, he just stops. It honestly scares me, so I usually end up 😁 giving him a little nudge or saying something out loud just to wake him up. Once he does, he gasps for air like someone who was drowning. This happens quite often. I haven't noticed any specific triggers like heavy meals or stress.
These pauses in breathing can last for nearly an hour, or even longer, at least while I'm awake.
He has no clue it's happening in the morning, obviously. No headaches from lack of oxygen, no fatigue, nothing.
Does anyone know what this sleep disorder is called or who I should talk to about getting help?
Thanks.😉

You really should have brought a stool sample to the urgent care when you had the diarrhea; that's the only way they could actually figure out what was going wrong.
I had a similar disaster one year where I practically lost my soul, and the staff at the ER basically gave me attitude because I couldn't even stop vomiting and running to the bathroom long enough to get them any useful info.

It might be worth picking up some activated charcoal to help soak up those bacteria and flush everything out of your system.

Richard Thompson33 said:Side note: Finally, even in a basic comedy, you actually get to see childbirth, even if they make it look all clean, plastic, and rushed. 😁 And that’s just the start... Sex isn't taboo anymore, and neither is murder; I don't get why birth always has to happen behind pristine sheets with just one tiny drop of sweat on a forehead... 😉

That’s exactly what pissed me off at the end! If they weren't trying to save money, why didn't they show a real birth? They clearly had the budget, so show us the blood and the actual mess, not this sterile version where the baby comes out looking spotless. I mean, hello?! Even the pizza looks too perfect.

I’m not here to call anyone an idiot; everyone’s entitled to their own take.
It’s like with Eyes Wide Shut—plenty of people trashed it, but I actually enjoyed it. I guess you can decide for yourself why those intense orgy scenes worked for me, even if that final shot of the baby being born didn't quite hit the mark. It wasn't that the birth itself was gross, it just felt... off. Like, you could tell it wasn't a real baby.
And look, I’m not saying I’m some kind of freak.

Did anyone catch that absolute train wreck of a movie last night?
Can someone please explain how I fell for the hype? How did I think this was worth ninety minutes of my life when it wasn't even worth the electricity used to stream it? Honestly, I feel like I have nothing better to do than waste time on 😵 😵

Kenneth Hernandez67 said:Get this... they actually have the nerve to suggest THAT I take my dad's card myself. 🙄

Fine, but here's my thought: if they waited this long for the Solution just to talk to me, shouldn't they have revoked his power of attorney and demanded he hand over the card in the first place? Why am I the one who has to deal with this?

I called them this morning to get a printout of all the transactions from the last year. I want to see if money was being pulled while we were waiting for the Solution, or if it’s been a constant drain.

Honestly, I don't know... I just know I couldn't handle one more "family" conversation. 🙂

And what does that even accomplish? If you find out the money was spent because of the Solution, it'll just leave you feeling bitter.
It just doesn't make sense why those bank people were acting so mysterious and suspicious when you went in that first time—it was like they thought your uncle was hiding millions in that account...
Kenneth Hernandez67 said:Josh is even more bummed out because when I finally got to the Chase branch and they actually sat down to show me Barbie's account details, I realized the account where his Social Security checks go—the one my dad had power of attorney over—is deep in the red.

I can't even describe how much this sent my blood pressure through the roof.😲 I'm honestly speechless...
Daily water intake: Let's discuss in Health ·
restlessmarlin6 said:All those official daily water intake guidelines are nonsense.

I know people who barely touch water and function perfectly fine without it.

Then there's me—I drink way too much. I can polish off a liter in one sitting when I'm thirsty, and I do it multiple times a day.

Eight glasses? Honestly, I've knocked back that much in an hour or two before and felt totally fine. That doesn't mean everyone else will, though. Don't force it. Just drink what your body actually asks for, whether that’s a few ounces or three liters. 🙂

Preach.
After running three laps on the treadmill, I'm not even thirsty. Or if I am, it's barely noticeable.
And during the summer, hanging out at the beach... I don't feel the need for water at all.
I've never been one for forcing myself to hydrate just because someone said so. It's hard for me to drink water "just because."
I know it might not be the healthiest way to live, but whatever. I tried forcing it once, and it just didn't work for me.
