He was strong and conscious until the very last second. The nurses called me from the hospital because he was calling out for me. I ran there like a madwoman. Even through all the pain and agony, he was looking for ways to make things easier for me—he didn't give a single thought to himself. He managed to say everything he needed to say. And then, he told me he wasn't in pain. My hero.
That night destroyed me.

I hope that, in time, the comfort of words and thoughts will help.
Right now, none of it matters.

I am beyond heartbroken.😢🙂

My heart goes out to you,😢
Sending you every ounce of strength to overcome this grief.🙂

It might not be my place to share this, or even strictly relevant to this specific thread, but I honestly don't know where else to go... I just felt that since slyseal28 has always stood by us through her own intense battle, it’s only right that we stand by her too—even if it's just through our thoughts and prayers.

The earth is sown with the seeds of mortality

But death is not the end
Because death doesn't truly exist
And there is no end

Death is merely the light that illuminates
The path of ascent from the nest to the stars.

My fellow fighters, my heart truly goes out to you.😢
From the bottom of my heart, I hope you find within yourselves that same strength I had to find when my father passed away. 🙂
Goliath, please accept my deepest condolences.😢
Susan Ruiz76 said:Watch out, because this fight you’re about to embark on with your one and only is going to shape you. It’ll reveal parts of your own soul you didn't even know existed. And honestly? You’re going to see things in other people too—things you never would have believed you’d witness. Just be ready. Be brave, stay strong, and for heaven's sake, don't be afraid to open up and share those raw feelings with the people you love most and trust implicitly.
Good luck to all three of you.🙂

That was so simple, yet so beautifully put.🙂
Thank you, everyone!
My dad passed away for good😢
thanks Jane and everyone who reached out to lend us a hand during this incredibly difficult time.

Starting March 1st, Sutent and Tarceva are officially being added to the Medicare formulary!🎉 🙂 🙂

Get treated, people!👍

First thing you need to do is get out of Miami; honestly, very few people there actually get lucky.😢
Angela Wright said:Hey honey... I didn't even dare send you a PM... I honestly thought the worst had happened when you went silent.
What’s the actual situation right now?

Honestly, what can I even say? I don't know what to write to you all... I just sit here and read...
For these past few months, everything has just boiled down to monthly checkups, my dad's relentless optimism and will to live, and some kind of medical miracle that he's still even here.😢
Things actually looked up back in August; I was actually planning on posting here to tell everyone how you really can win through sheer willpower and Beta Glucan.🙄
Dear God, I was so happy then, and then everything just went downhill fast..
Then the "real" pain started—mumbling, sleeping constantly, incontinence, stiffness, that choking sensation in the throat, dry mouth, total constipation, depression, diabetes...
There isn't anything left to be done at this point; we’re just praying he doesn't have to suffer for too long.
The tumor is growing, the metastases are everywhere, and one has even broken through the skin on his head.😢
We are all completely frazzled. Mom has become a totally different person. I just hope that once Dad passes, we can somehow find our way back to a sense of normalcy. That’s the reality of it. May God forbid anyone ever goes through such hell.😢
quietpilot87 said:About a month and a half ago, we were told my mom was finished.
Now she just lies there, covered in painkiller patches, and the days are... unpredictable. Some are catastrophic, others are manageable.

From where I’m standing, my mother is an incredibly strong and resilient woman who doesn't go down without a fight. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately—about modern cancer therapy, about life in general. For me, nothing is ever going to be the same again, especially my life and the way I navigate it. I’ve replayed her entire life in my head a thousand times, comparing it to mine (to ours), wondering how many times things could have gone differently, how much we might have been different people. Sometimes those thoughts haunt me, but I manage. Occasionally, I find myself questioning why this happened, why we couldn't just live like any other normal family—why my brother and I couldn't follow our own paths while my parents grew old together in some little house by the coast, which is exactly what they wanted...

The truth is, you just can't control life. Not one bit.

I also wanted to ask for some advice—what should I feed someone who is constantly bedridden and mostly refuses digestive aids, provided she isn't having major issues with constipation?
Supposedly milk isn't good for her, but she absolutely loves it.
Thanks 🙂

It's the exact same thing here... I keep playing these mental movies, imagining all sorts of scenarios... and I wonder why?
Honestly, today I was thinking how much easier it would be if my dad just said he wanted to die, instead of him fighting to live against all odds! I feel like that will is actually the only thing keeping him tethered to this world. But then again, what good is a desire when you're in such a state?
Anyway....
Can Mom eat normally? Should we give her pears, or maybe dried prunes soaked in warm water, or maybe some Donat?
That helped Dad a little bit, but after that, nothing worked. Now, since it's happening on its own... starting today, he's on Prosura...
Melissa Kim45 said:My mom fought such a long, hard battle. She was a winner in her own way, and a massive one at that.

Melissa Kim45, sending you a huge hug. May your mom rest in peace. 🙂
Hey everyone!!

Can someone please explain to me what a red prescription actually is?
Alenka, may she rest in peace..😢

Is that idiot of a minister actually going to step down? Or does he have a few extra lives left? Is one person dying apparently not enough for him??

The whole damn system is broken, especially when you factor in those puffed-up, empty-headed assholes they call politicians.👎
What an absolute disaster our healthcare system is—honestly, calling it a disaster is an understatement; it’s a total disgrace.👎
It is such a massive waste of talented professionals working within such a broken system, not to mention the nightmare patients have to endure.😢

People, please, don't let them push you around!!

neonhound32, this is just straight-up evil, and I am honestly so sorry you're going through this.😢
Hang in there, things will get better.🙂
The initial shock is always gut-wrenching, but I personally live by my own rule: it isn't over until I say it's over.🙂
Mom is going to be fine, she absolutely has to be.😉
My honest thoughts on Elizabeth Diaz60😢
Lindsay, I am so incredibly sorry for what you're going through.😢
Sending you a massive hug and my deepest, most sincere condolences.🙂
Fiza, just being totally honest here 🙂
