Ugh, typical... my husband is busy watching Mary Williams while I'm just sitting here suffering... Good thing they're losing, honestly. Usually, when they take a hit in the first half, the second half turns out way better!
Man... I'm gonna go follow the court proceedings, because this is absolutely unwatchable. 😉 Even with Septic, everything just went sideways on my end, but we're still watching via satellite...
Kenneth Hernandez67 said:You can basically make a syrup out of flower petals too—like roses, violets, dandelions, whatever. Just make sure you double-check somewhere first that the flowers aren't toxic if you're gonna eat them...😉
That dandelion syrup is another classic old-school remedy for respiratory stuff... I really hope Tija knows this or happens to be reading this...
Come on, don't you dare quit on me now... I know it sucks, but trust me, it's worth it. We had some crazy party going on over the weekend and I actually managed to stick to meat and salad, though I did cheat a little bit with some sweets, but nothing major...... The progress is still happening.... if you totally blow it, just reset and start over from scratch (day one!) and everything will fall back into place... Good luck, 👋
You can eat soup anytime, and honestly, the more the better... but just the soup! Don't go adding random extra stuff to it outside of your main meals.
Since I'm not exactly a huge fan of how this soup tastes, I just whizzed it all up with an immersion blender yesterday, and now I've been tossing a different sauce into every meal just to change the flavor profile, and it actually isn't half bad.
If you manage to survive those first seven days of nothing but soup, you should take a little break (like one week) before jumping back in. After that week is over, I switch over to that "no mixing foods" diet. It’s way easier for me since I'm working all day and it's just simpler to manage. I'm not gaining weight, in fact, it's dropping off, just not all at once.
And there are two golden rules the whole time: DRINK WATER AND MOVE MORE!
Good luck to everyone out there struggling👋
I'm down 9 pounds right now and I am absolutely stoked....
So, I finally whipped up this chicken noodle soup recipe today based on what you guys suggested... hoping that starting tomorrow I can kick off a massive winning streak with the scale... I'll let you know how it goes if I actually pull it off...

Then, suddenly, everything's fine... Just tell me where you work, and we're basically family.......hopefully it's not something like being an anatomy professor...
I honestly don't even know how to find something positive or comforting to say here... Watching this whole disease progress so closely has kept me at a distance from this thread for a long time, but yeah, life really does write its own twisted novels... See, someone in my inner circle—someone incredibly dear to me—is dealing with a similar diagnosis... For her, it all started back during puberty... A fractured family, a pretty unstable home life, basically having to grow up being raised by her grandmother; she spent her childhood and teen years bouncing between other people's houses because her grandmother’s illness (and eventually her death) completely destabilized her world... We eventually took her in, and she worked her tail off to finish school, landing a job at a nursing home where she truly found herself helping the sick... But she also wanted to be someone's partner, to experience love (and man, she is gorgeous!). So she finds her "prince," some guy from a totally destructive, broken home who's completely codependent on his mother, lives a lazy lifestyle, and relies on a revolving door of "friends"... Her dream comes true, she gets married, gets her own place, starts a family, and ends up pregnant, but due to medical contraindications, the pregnancy is terminated, leaving her permanently unable to conceive... Living in a new, chaotic environment—barely scraping by at first since she was the only one with a steady income—leads to constant clashes with an alcoholic mother-in-law. After years of psychological abuse, things finally boil over into physical violence, and the mother-in-law dies suddenly at her hands. Now, she's stuck in a psychiatric hospital, waiting on a verdict because she killed her husband's mother... The legal proceedings are wrapping up, and she's moving closer to where she used to live. She still keeps in touch with her husband because he’s been left totally alone and without any income. Even now, he's the only thing on her mind, the only thing she cares about... he's her entire world... Now, they let her home occasionally (her brother picks her up, and she's already lost her mother), and life just carries on... It isn't exactly great, but he's the only one she has left... The illness follows her every single second; sometimes she's soaring, and other times she's sinking into the deepest pit imaginable... and we all think it's finally the end, but then like a phoenix, she rises back into the light again... and it goes on like that, and it always will... she's 45 now.... So, yeah, that's why I know exactly how much effort and willpower this takes, and just how much it hurts...
Don't even get me started...........I stuck with it for about three and a half months, dropped 15 pounds, and then after three months, the weight just started creeping back up slowly....all the way to a 20-pound gain........it’s absolutely infuriating! I know plenty of other people who fell into the exact same trap...yeah, it helps you drop the weight, but man, it is so hard not to gain it all right back...maybe you have to be more hardcore about it or keep grinding away on Herbalife for another six months or something...I don't have the magic answer, but my experience? Definitely wouldn't recommend it!
Look, I get that this forum is supposed to be an open floor for everyone's opinions, but honestly, some of these posts are making me want to go after the mods just for letting them stay up... especially when they’re completely nonsensical, totally undermine the actual discussion, or are just plain idiotic...
Rebecca Baker52 said:So, is having the husband on the diet at the same time actually helpful or just a total drag? I mean, who's really dragging who along here... 🙂
I don't know what you're trying to say with just "B]", but if you've got something to vent about or a question that needs an answer, just spit it out... I haven't got all day.
Man, I gotta admit, he’s got way more character... 😁 I haven't hit the pavement on my bike for two days and now I'm getting all this grief... but once I get my act together (give me a day or two!), I'll be right back at it... and honestly, his constant nagging actually keeps me moving... plus, he’s already dropped twice as much weight as I have... total alpha move, no doubt... though it does make me wonder if he's gonna ditch me soon for two younger, skinnier girls...🙂 🙏 😁
I went to see Dr. Gruden too... what a total joke (just a closeted sexist, honestly!)... such a massive waste of my time and money...
By then, I’d already finished level two of Reiki, so this whole autogenic training thing felt like little kid stuff to me... But look, if you're actually dedicated to using this to fix whatever's eating at you, it might actually work for you... I'm all for alternative stuff and how people tap into the subconscious—it still helps me out—but at the end of the day, everyone’s gotta find their own way... just like how not every antibiotic works the same for everybody, right? Good luck👋
Kudos to you.... My husband and I are both on this diet grind... we’re cheering each other on, but yeah, we call each other out too... I actually set some ground rules for myself because I know I didn't just wake up one day looking like this, it was a slow build, so it’s gotta be a slow burn to lose it... Here’s my playbook: - I make sure to eat my carbs and proteins separately from anything else; - I get off the subway a stop early every single day so I'm forced to power walk for at least 15 minutes; - No elevators for me; - Hitting the gym twice a week; - On days I don't go to the gym, I hop on my stationary bike for at least 20 minutes; - Trying my best to dodge sweets and chocolate, though I'll treat myself to a pastry every once in a while... - And most importantly, fruit for breakfast, then nothing until lunch...
So yeah, that's basically the whole routine right now, and honestly, I can already see it working, which is a huge relief.
Everyone I know has been using aloe vera... my cousin says it was literally a lifesaver when she was fighting uterine cancer, but then there's my dad dealing with lung cancer and he just can't stomach the taste of aloe, unfortunately...
........so, we're dealing with lung cancer here. chemo was a total grind and honestly pretty brutal, and now it’s time for radiation. most likely just the standard stuff they use here in the States, I guess... all I know is it's going to be for the next four weeks, every single weekday, and they've already done the scans and the mapping for the positioning, so that's that.......I'm not actually in the US right now, so my info is a bit patchy and incomplete.......thanks in advance for any help you guys can give....
My bad if this topic’s already been covered somewhere else...
...I’m just looking for anyone who actually knows their stuff—people with real experience in this area—to weigh in on any side effects I might deal with during or after the treatments. Also, if you've got tips on diet, hydration, or just general lifestyle tweaks to make things easier... honestly, any bit of info helps at this point......thanks in advance
